    Another good video Adrian, show the calving video, people don't realise the work and difficulties that farmers face in there day to day life. I come from a farm and believe me I know what difficulties your face. Neighbours used to ring me years ago if they had a difficulties in calving heifers or cow's. I would help calf. Great videos keep them coming.

    I thought I was the only person that greased the PTO cover bearing, You certainly look after your equipment well, my dad always said your daily checks keep a mechanic out of work, saves a fortune in parts and labour and most importantly the equipment works when you need it.

    Boy, things have come a long way since I was a kid on a dairy farm. We had a barn with stanchions and the cow would do their business in the gutters behind them. We had a barn cleaner that would move the manure into the manure spreader that was hooked to a tractor. When the manure spreader was full we would take it to the fields and spread it. On a windy day, you knew you would get some cow s---t on you...................lol.
    Times have changed for the better and it is amazing to watch your videos at 76 years of age. May God bless you and your wonderful family.

    Local dealer was pushing the Mastek dribble bar on me and I had a look at it on the back of a contractors tanker and I didn't like the way it was stuck on to the back door I feel overtime it will pull the back door out of place and you will be drawing air as you fill a load. I've a 2200 galavanised Rossmore tanker and I dont want to trade it I'm very happy with it so I decided to go for the Grasstec dribble bar and it's bolted to the axle, a much better job in my opinion as the axle is carrying the weight of the dribble bar. It has a Bomech Alrena macerator. They took my tanker away before Christmas and I should have it back this week. It's €14,000 and I've got the 60% grant aid

    I am still measuring in inches and weighing in Metric, so I converted your 1600 gallon to metric tons and was amazed to see it at 7.273 metric tons approx of course because that's manure and not water, and 9 tons on the new one that's a heavy beast.

    I must say I do admire the care and maintenance you place onto any job you carry out. Greasing up the pto shaft. The shaft fully guarded when its working. I worked for a farmer like that in the Yorkshire Dales, UK. And that sort of care pays dividends both in prolonging and getting the best out of your gear and safety.

    Great video again Adrian. On the dribble bar you should look at an agquip one there different to other dribble bars as the macerator is horizontal instead of vertical. They also have a type of rotor similar to the mastec macerator not knives like a vogelslang . It's said to be alot better for thick slurry they also have solid pipe not lay flat going from the macerator to like a rubber boot on the end to leave it out on the ground more like a trailing shoe as it parts the grass slightly. Look to be very well built job .

    Change that agitator! I was at the same thing taking on and off that PTO shaft when I wanted to go to the other end of the tank, or if I wanted to move to another tank. It broke my heart! So I changed it to a normal one. Best thing I ever did.

    • @IFarmWeFarm
      @IFarmWeFarm  2 роки тому

      You can lift that agitator out and move to another tank without taking of the shaft, but I need to raise the arms on the 54 a little as it was just touching the ground with the slope that’s on out yards. Flat yard and you’d be flying. For the amount I’d be doing I think she’s great Niall

    Adrian I cannot recommend a Slurryquip dribble bars enough. We bought one last year for our 2000 gallon redrock- a 9.6m folding bar. It actually folds down lower than the height of the tanker, has 10 mm bigger pipes than the mastek at 50mm, and has a lethal macerator all as standard.
    Then again any bar will have a 6 month waiting list so wherever you go it'll take a while! I will have a video of our Slurryquip up in the spring once the ban lifts aswell. Great video Adrian loving the 54' the same as ours!
