Cleaning iron bottom

Cleaning an iron bottom using toothpaste. Does it really work.
-- Apply toothpaste on the burnt portion.
-- Switch on the iron
-- Gently rub with an old cloth or scrub.

Never use metal scrub on iron plate
It will damage non stick coating of iron plate
