How To Clean An Iron Plate When Burnt - The QUICK, CHEAP and EASY METHOD

  • This video is a simple, but effective one.
It shows you how to clean a burnt iron the cheapest and quickest way.
It happens to everyone. Your iron is set too high and you run it over a piece of clothing that burns easily and now you have burn marks on your iron.
Like me, most people would try to scrap it off on the edge of the ironing board, or scrub it off with something abrasive, but that will only damage the ceramic coating - if your iron has one - on the sole plate so you should avoid doing.
It’s safer on you iron plate to use the method in this video than any abrasive method, and it will clean your iron bottom and make it look new again.

Works great. I had iron on max heat and left Tylenol pill on hot surface for too long. It actually removed some of the teflon coating. Would recommend dialling back the heat and wiping off the reside as soon as the pill melts

Absolutely amazing. I see others complained about the coating being removed, Im not sure why that would happen. I didnt use a very hot iron, just warmed it slightly and used a tweezer to hold the pill. Worked like a cham. I've even thrown irons out before because nothing I found worked. I used store bought cleaners, baking soda, vinegar, even resorted to oven cleaner. NOTHING worked like this, I dont know how to thank you. Science is wonderful 😊 I'm going to try this on other tough residues as well... soap scum?

Amazing! It worked so well. I gripped the paracetamol in a pair of old tweezers because ovengloves are too bulky. Only thing is: if paracetamol can clean burns on irons so well, what on earth does it do when it's inside us ?🙄🙄

Amazing! It did remove some of the coating but I have been dealing with burnt fusible interfacing for two days and no other method has worked. Though having seen what this little pill can do to a burnt iron and ceramic coating, I won't be taking Tylenol anytime soon. 😂
