To put it into perspective, do you think it's reasonable to say that Frank could hit a lightning strike with a grenade before it reached the ground? Because that's basically what he did. Spider-Man has dodged electric attacks from Electro multiple times. Essentially, Spider-Man is fast enough to perceive and dodge literal lightning strikes. Hitting lightning mid-air would be easier than hitting him.
Nah the writers are at fault for ruining Spider-Man by making him suffer. Like first he was beaten by Iron Man and now he’s beaten by the Punisher, like man this is some bullshit
@@kingtai2005 This is a Punisher comic specifically, the writers always decide who wins a fight, so you’d expect them to lean more towards the character they’re currently penning.
I wouldn't say Punisher "won the fight" here. All he did was escape by basically distraction/disoriention. The fight showcased Spider-Man was outmatching Punisher in every sense, but gave Punisher one too many "chances" so he used that opportunity to escape.
When Peter gets too cocky or talks too much, that’s when Punisher wins. Otherwise, Spidey all the way. And guns won’t help Frank. Edit: thought I had seen this comic already. Spidey dominates the fight but Frank gets away. Frank’s experience is the biggest factor in winning or escaping metahumans and superheroes, such as Spider-Man.
I agree with all but one thing. Spidey wasn't cocky he was angry, dude could of probably knocked Frank out with one blow but he wanted to "Punish the Punisher" He thought he had to make a point and it ended up giving Frank the time he needed to pull a fast one
Spider man gets angry at punisher for killing criminals and being a deranged psychopath LITERALLY HANGS OUT WITH BOTH DEADPOOL AND CABLE, like, ALL THE TIME if it isn't the pot calling the kettle black.
*Frank is beaten relentlessly to a pulp in the first seconds of the fight and only manages to escape by distracting Spiderman with a grenade* "SpIdEy IsN't SuPpOsEd To Be A pUsHoVeR!"
fr, spidey tanking two massive hooks to the jaw, staring him straight in the eye and saying "it'll take more than you've got" goes HARD. That shit was cold and scary as fuck.
He saw the punisher on the ground in an compromised position and he sensed danger he saves people and didn't want frank getting hurt from whatever was coming and decided to bring him closer to protect him from what ever could have happened
He was trying to help frank because he didn’t think frank had a gernade. I mean the scene right before this frank punches spidey and only hurts himself.
One thing I could never figure out reading comics when I was growing up was why a guy like Peter Parker whose strength level was in the 10-20 ton range always let The Punisher hang around as long as he did every time they faced each other.
Because Peter doesn’t kill people or even try to seriously hurt them, most of the time. He also sympathizes with Frank, to a degree, and wants him to stop and get himself fixed. Frank, meanwhile, doesn’t tend to go after guys like Daredevil or Spider-Man unless they interfere with his work. And even then, he views them less as threats and more as a distraction, keeping away from his actual targets. Nevertheless, he’s still dangerous enough with his weapon proficiency that Peter - who is very vulnerable to bullets, knives, and explosives - can’t just treat him like he’s some two-bit thug.
@@44excalibur If he really _wanted_ to? Sure, absolutely. Frank's resilient in his own right, but Peter can pick cars up over his head with ease. The official Marvel power scale has him at 50 tons at his absolute limit, whereas an average car is about 2 tons. This should kind of give you an idea of just how easily Peter _could_ take Punisher out if he wanted to. This is further demonstrated a few times in the comics where he knocked someone out just by flicking them in the face, and - when fighting Punisher in fact - crashed through a *_stone chimney_* and didn't seem phased in the slightest. The only reason he doesn't, aside from writing and suspension of disbelief, is that he's so worried about accidentally punching a criminal's head off when he hits them that he tries to tap them with as minimal force as possible. This is a bit... much to swallow, when taking the amounts of kicks and fists he'll throw around in the heat of the moment, but perhaps Peter's precision muscle control are on a level closer to Superman's?
Look my whole problem with this given the understanding of Frank, there is NO REASON why Spiderman would not completely web him up so that he can't try something. It's just super negligent. I would have rather him get webbed up and then he tell Spiderman before he webbed him up he pressed a trigger for a remote bomb at X location and he has 3 minutes to stop it, forcing Spider-man to retreat. He then uses a heat knife from his back pocket to cut free and escape. You don't sh!t on Spider-man or Punisher and both make sense to the story.
People in this comment section seems to forget that Frank Castle respects heroes, even if its not reciprocated. Yes, he fights them but doesn’t intend to kill them so saying plot armor is what saved the Punisher is wild. He clearly just threw a flashbang. Any superhero with the same abilities of spiderman wouldn’t even have the time to react cause of the radius. Sadly, people like I said don’t understand how military equipment works so they just jump to the train of nonsense hate. Dude, the same guy who just flashbanged him also saved him from two villains who were about to fry him in civil war. If he wanted to kill spiderman, he would have but writers don’t want to do that because he has a moral code, which some ignorant idiots seem to forget.
Times like this I wonder how Spidey would handle the worst of maniacs Punisher had dealt with over the years like in Punisher MAX. Spidey does not need to like Punisher and his methods, but he cannot deny Punisher thinking crossing his mind when he sees the worst humanity can offer.
lol if all it took to shlump spidey was a grenade, he'd be in the dirt waaay early. pretty sure he's taken multiple green goblin grenades to the body and dome and shrugged it off. Actually im pretty sure he's stayed conscious for punches worse than multiple grenades. I wouldnt even expect that kind of poor performance from a 60 yr old spidey.
@@hadriandwyer2191 Spider-Man durability switches all the time, sometimes he can handle big explosions, other times he can't. Either way, even if Spider-Man is more durable, getting hit by a grenade would still hurt him. It most likely wouldn't knock him down, but he would definitely feel the pain from it.
Punisher, X-Men... you know, I think I found the real reason besides editorial why Spider-Man is so disliked within the Marvel universe. It's because he's the only one willing to call the other heroes out.
The Punisher is obviously outclassed by Spider-Man but the irony is, he wasn't humbled by him, but rather vice-versa.The Punisher got the last laugh considering, the outcome went in his favor.
That's the worst thing about the punisher. He always get the last laugh. No matter who's the opponent or what's the situation the writers will always pull some ex machina for him to win or at least get away. Spider man really summarized punishers personality just fine: a lunatic who loves to killed and used his family death as an excuse to keep killing. For him it doesn't matter if what you did, as long it "bad" by his childish standards he'll kill you without a second thought. God, I am so happy that Marvel finally got rid of that ashole. He should have been what he was created for in the first place: an one story Spiderman villain that afterwards will be forgotten
@@ΣτέργιοςΜποπότας-ζ1μ I think characters like Punisher can be used to highlight the strengths of heroes like Spider-Man and Daredevil. They could take the easy way like him, but they don't, because what's right isn't always what's easy.
@@Human-wd3nq yea, i totaly agree with you. Characters like Punisher should only be portayed as villains and not get glorify by the writers. Especialy if they are Vietnam veterans like Punisher, who commited they same atrocities with the crime bosses he kills (check Michael Angel Vales the cousin of Richard Ramirez and the one to inspire him to become the pentagram killer) thus making a hypocrite. I may really preffer anti-heros and grey characters, but Punisher is not one of them. He is more of an anti-villain and his writers and fans are usually edgelords that mentally are still in their teen years (best excamlpe Garth Ennis, that guy is a psycho)
@@ΣτέργιοςΜποπότας-ζ1μ I think back before Garth Ennis took the reins Punisher was a much more interesting character. His pre-Ennis origin was that he originally tried to bring the mobsters who killed his family to justice through legal means, except the cops were ineffective and corrupt, which shattered his faith in the justice system. Then the Punisher MAX comics came along, and made a tragic and sympathetic anti-hero a complete monster with zero redeemable qualities, who always wanted to kill people since childhood. The one thing I think modern Marvel has done right is change the war he served in to a generic military conflict instead of Vietnam, because of the unfortunate implications surrounding it.
I think the punisher was humbled more cause he didn’t exactly win, he had to resort to cheap tactics and plot armour so he could run away, plus when he punched spider man in the jaw just for no effect. It doesn’t get much more humbling than that
Maybe at the very beginning of Batman's conception because Batman used guns and killed and smoked when he debuted. He hung a man from a helicopter 🚁 and watched him die. A goon was sticking his head out the window and Batman kicked him in the back of the head breaking his neck and watched him fall out the windows. Batman shot a man in cold blood killing him. That was Batman when he was first created. So you're right if comparing to the original concept. 😅
@@DCis1 I didn’t know that. I was referring to how neither of them have super powers and both of them take the law into their own hands. I think the conflict would work naturally because of series like the red hood. Punisher would start killing Batman’s villains and Batman would fight punisher to try to stop him from murdering them.
This is why i hate the punisher, he's the type of edgy ass character a middle schooler would come up with, and for some unknown reason he actually wins in situations where he absolutely shouldn't, like spidey absolutely annihilated him here, but for some reason the grenade completely took him down, while the guy that was grovelling on the ground is now completely fine? Bullshit lol
writers poured a bucket of glaze for this one. Spidey didn't immediately immobilize frank with his webshooters. Spidey took five hours to react to a fucking grenade. A regular human's kick was enough to daze him? Really? Fucking really? The guy that has buildings fall on top of him and he keeps going gets dazed by a kick from a former fbi agent? Disgusting levels of glaze.
Everybody talking about spider-man with the grenade thing, I think that's fine. It makes sense. But punisher being able to kick spider-man like that is REALLY weird since in the same scene spider-man wasn't even flinching at his punches.
The Punisher could have easily won this fight just not with conventional weapons and using his fists. Spider-Man should have won this fight, but unfortunately the writers are bad at their jobs. It's absolutely amazing how in this one comic, they managed to assassinate the characters of both Spidey and Frank at the same time. Truly Marvel writers are the epitome of talentless hacks.

It's happened a million times even in punisher comics. Read Punisher: Paraiah, Spiderman one shot him and left cause Frank didn't have room or equipment to pull anything and Peter was pissed off. That's not plot armor The first thing Punisher did in comics was fuck up Spiderman
I don't understand the surprise at Frank out smarting peter when he was introduced into comcs being capable enough to tag and outsmart Peter😂. He studies superhumans for this very purpose. Billy Butcher was based off him.
Like bruh All his villains have tagged him pretty easily too just as much as he's dodged them. People in here think Parker is Quicksilver or that Frank hasn't tagged actual speedsters much faster than Peter. And then there's pple talking about Firelord lmao. Spiderman stans think he's Silversurfer level now
Ok, I'm confused. Isn't Spiderman supposed to tolerate Punisher and Punisher has esteem and appreciation for Spiderman?. Also... Ironic that they want to make Punisher look like a psycho lunatic, to show Spiderman as a psychopathic lunatic who talks too much and has a huge ego. Sometimes I don't understand if Marvel hates Punisher or Spiderman more.
That plus Spidey calling him a cheater for catching him off guard with a grenade right after glazing how much Frank doesn’t stand a chance bc he has super powers
Thumbnail showed a pic of punisher kicking Spiderman and knocking him over. The strength and spiderman's bones and muscles would be so strong there's no way a kick from a normal human would have any affect to hurt or budge him one bit.
Yknow, you’d think spider man would have a LOT more empathy considering what franks been through. Even if he doesnt know what franks been through im sure he can atleast feel theres more about him
This is why im not a fan of comic punisher either. He may stand for something, but he doesnt respect what other heroes stand for, he also promarily just kills regular thugs n stuff. But still, him using spidermans gear, knowing how heavy it would weigh on him, is definitely crossing a line. And yeah, punisher shouldnt have been able to win here at all.
This shit is why i don't take that whole "The writer decided who wins an loses" shit seriously because then we get shit like this. Ain't nothing about this make sense.
Spider-Man, technically you’re the cheater, super human str and speed, the webs and your senses and you still lost to a normal guy that has nothing to lose
Just a reminder kids: Something Spidey gets wrong here is calling Frank a murderer. Frank is a killer. The difference being one is unjustifiable, and the other is!
I mean, Spidey can't win with the writer's curse still following him...not unless he goes evil, which I think says more about the writers than it does about Spidey haha
I think everyone here knows that Spider-Man would've beaten Punisher hands down, no way in hell a simple grenade would daze Spider-Man that much to where his spider sense doesn't even detect Punisher's incoming kick
What tickles *me* off is the fact that Frank stole a web-shooter from Spider-man, probably the hero who despises killing the most at the same level as Batman, and is not treated as seriously as it is. I get it, Spidey's a jokester, and yes, he kinda did get mad. But Punisher used something Peter created to help people, to murder, the one thing that Peter can't stand. And nit only that, he did it twice, and Peter just reacts with a joke. Like, what?
See, I'm on board with Spidey 999999.99...9 ...99... ...99... ...9% percent of the time. But it's that stupid, quip-whipping mouth of his that gets him into deep shit every single time. Sometimes Pete... sometimes you just gotta know when to shut the hell up.
Punisher is literally Marvel’s Batman at this point 😑 Somehow able to fight virtually Anyone beyond his league just because. No wonder people don’t read comics anymore
We don't read em for the woke crap they constantly want to promote We read manga because we want entertainment, and this punisher was maybe the last good one And spidey is to cocky for his own safety, that's why he lost
Just a recap on how stupid Disney is and modern fans. Spiderman doesn't like the Punisher who kills CRIMINALS after he lost his entire family. BUT Spiderman likes Deadpool who is a psychotic unhinged mercernary who kills people for money? Yeah.. okay Disney.. whatever you say. The only consistent character is Captain America disliking both Castle and Wade.
So you’re telling me spider man not being able to avoid Punisher’s grenade is canon but he can tank a hit from a phoenix force buffed colossus that is also canon?? Ok marvel
Ain't no fucking way punisher can knock out peter when peter gets knocked around by people 100 times stronger than punisher and deals with weapons way deadlier than a pistol and flashbang. The writers really don't know how to write it seems.

Spider-Man has dodged electric attacks from Electro multiple times. Essentially, Spider-Man is fast enough to perceive and dodge literal lightning strikes. Hitting lightning mid-air would be easier than hitting him.

Peter cannot get cocky, the writers will make sure to keep him down.

@@Adorni Still, Peter should be able to incapacitate Frank with one punch.
"Cheater." -The superhuman who was just glorifying his staggering advantages over the mere mortal.

I'm so over the writers hating Spider-Man.
Punisher is very important part of the ecosystem. He is the ultimate "or else" of marvel.
Remember spider man was holding back
The comment that I was looking for.
@ it has to be said lol
Look my whole problem with this given the understanding of Frank, there is NO REASON why Spiderman would not completely web him up so that he can't try something. It's just super negligent. I would have rather him get webbed up and then he tell Spiderman before he webbed him up he pressed a trigger for a remote bomb at X location and he has 3 minutes to stop it, forcing Spider-man to retreat. He then uses a heat knife from his back pocket to cut free and escape. You don't sh!t on Spider-man or Punisher and both make sense to the story.
He wanted to take punisher somewhere to detain him
So webbing him up won't help
What flashbang goes of like that?
Times like this I wonder how Spidey would handle the worst of maniacs Punisher had dealt with over the years like in Punisher MAX. Spidey does not need to like Punisher and his methods, but he cannot deny Punisher thinking crossing his mind when he sees the worst humanity can offer.

Punisher, X-Men... you know, I think I found the real reason besides editorial why Spider-Man is so disliked within the Marvel universe. It's because he's the only one willing to call the other heroes out.
Frank Castle, now a wanted man.... Dude Frank Castle is ALWAYS a wanted man. Everyone wants a piece of him, either to killer him or hire him.
It doesn’t get much more humbling than that
Spider-man misunderstoods the Punisher as the Daily Bugle "misunderstoods" Spider-man.

They've met
Maybe at the very beginning of Batman's conception because Batman used guns and killed and smoked when he debuted. He hung a man from a helicopter 🚁 and watched him die. A goon was sticking his head out the window and Batman kicked him in the back of the head breaking his neck and watched him fall out the windows. Batman shot a man in cold blood killing him. That was Batman when he was first created. So you're right if comparing to the original concept. 😅
@@DCis1 I didn’t know that. I was referring to how neither of them have super powers and both of them take the law into their own hands.
