The case appears to discuss whether or not Clint was justified, despite his own stated reservations and the circumstances leading up to the death of Bruce Banner. The jury is completely justified in exonerating Clint, as shown at the end of the video. The evidence adds up; it wasn't assassination or murder, but an assisted suicide to prevent what Bruce feared most would come to pass if his experiments failed to restrain the Hulk. Clint deserves to walk, even though he clearly didn't like it and would have to carry that burden on his conscience for the rest of his life. The real person on trial should have been Colonel Danvers. She violated one of the most sacred tenants of her country's own justice system by pursuing a Minority Report, a precognitive vision of events that did not happen (yet), and carried out extrajudicial punishment against suspects before their crimes were ever committed. In the U.S.A., all suspects are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law. A vision of a potential future is not proof that a crime has or will be comitted. While it is a commendable thing to save as many lives as possible using such visions of the future, it is not appropriate for us to punish or sentence people based on crimes they have not committed. Carol and those who sided with her on the issue of confronting Bruce Banner (thus escalating the situation and forcing Clint's hand) should have been tried and sentenced, for both the wrongful death of Bruce Banner and for other crimes relating to their conduct in pursuing future crimes yet to have occurred.

I do not know if Clint being allowed to walk away from this, is the right thing though. I mean: Yes, Bruce's eyes may have flickered green for an instant. But that does not always mean that he will turn into the Hulk. If Bruce was in the throws of hulking out THEN Clint would be justified to shoot Bruce. But only a quick flicking green tint in Bruce's eyes that only Clint saw is not enough. Also: The visions are not correct. Because if the visions were correct than they would have seen Clint shoot the arrow at The Hulk before too much damage has been done by the Hulk. As the arrow was given to Clint before the vision, and was not an event that was altered by their coming to Bruce's secret lab. And Denvers was ruined so much in these comics (and even more so in the movies), and she & all the heroes that supported her during the events of the comics indeed should be put to trial for violation of human rights and redrum.
@@blazingshadow2669 Yes, but it was a jury trial and all 12 sided with him, which makes him not guilty under the law. It's part of why jury trials exist. Don't hate Carol because you probably never read a comic book in your life and you think the movie completely told her story. Carol Danvers is absolutely worthy of her title. She also is flawed she was a horrible alcoholic and made tons of mistakes but made up for it. Yeah the movie was shit and made her up to be some perfect hero who was stronger than everyone else but that is not captain marvel from the comics. She was awesome and lived up to the name. It does suck ass that the movie did not do her justice at all but if your talking about comics only I will 100% defend Carol Danvers as a great Marvel hero.
@@Dudeston Agreed. Every Marvel(and DC) characters has a bad story to their name, Hell's it still happening to Peter Parker(thanks Wells and Lowe for that🥲). Civil War in general, Both stories were ultimately character assassinations of the main characters of each story. Civil War was Tony's and CW2 was Carols. Granted you can argue that both stories did Carol and Tony wrong. Doesn't mean a character can't be salvaged and I think Marvel did do that for Carol in stories following CW2. Admitted she made a lot of mistakes for well meaning reasons but was in the wrong and she's made amends.
Here’s a good twist: Banner’s corpse turns into the Hulk who wakes up in full rampage mode and starts destroying ABSOLUTELY everything because Banner was the one thing preventing Hulk from destroying everything and everybody. Now you have an unstoppable creature of rage and power set loose on the world because this is what future the vision was predicting and their actions by killing Banner MADE IT COME TRUE. Later, because they pull the BS that they did to Banner in “Hulk vs Thor” they revive Banner and he is put back in control of Hulk, Hawkeye and Danvers go to prison for all the death and destruction that they caused.
Fun facts, before this (according to the wiki), War Machine died and She-Hulk was critically injured during one of their "stop the future" plans. Carol saw no issue with this and chose to continue using the visions of the boy. After this, Iron Man reverse-engineers Ulysses' powers and learns that it's basically an algorithm with a whopping TEN percent probability rate. Once again, Carol saw no issue with this and chose to continue using the visions of the boy. Hulk and War Machine died to stop what is essentially 1/10 futures. And Carol saw no issue with this. The only reason she even stopped using Ulysses' visions was because he just spontaneously ascended to godhood the likes of Eternity and Infinity, there one second, gone the next, from a mortal to a god in the blink of an eye.
Really odd. The whole thing proves that the visions aren't accurate, and this was not brought up as evidence against Shield/Danvers. Is that being kept as an end-game discussion of the story or, is just no one going to talk about it? Lol
For real; "the visions are true, until they aren't" how about y'all just, idk, put Banner in a medically induced coma/cryogenic stasis during the period that vision happened? Congrats! Crisis averted without bloodshed!
When writers get bored with heroes fighting and winning with villains, they make hero vs hero thing, which villains watch with delight. Just like Wasp's daughter yelled crying. Heroes aren't supposed to fight each other.
Very subtle art of Iron Man barely holding back tears while testifying in the court, some of the best I’ve seen of that And the difference between the way his eyes and Captain Marvel’s are done shows the difference of the weight of the outcome based on their own choices
Quite the character development for tony, back in civil war and the WWH storylines he used and abused his allies, he injected jennifer walters with nanities that blocked her from transforming and dunped her in the middle of nowhere because she was no longer useful to him, he tried to force THOR to obey him and the power vested in him by the US Government when Asgard wound up floating a foot over a small oklahoma town
First civil war was like 2010 or something I think Tony simply having to live with that regret and seeing it twice was enough for him to be the one to say wait this is wrong, especially when Cap was secretly Hydra and on Carol's side.
@@swipeslogjack_tgaming9472 well the difference is that jenn can control her transformation so it might be easier to work with that or something or maybe tony's just an ass
Carol Danvers is a TOWERING DISAPPOINTMENT as Captain Marvel. Unworthy, unsympathetic, unkind, unlikable, unthinking, and just plain UNPREPOSSESSING. Pass the mantle to someone worthy.
Iron Man is eventual man that doesn’t hesitate to correct injustice, especially betrayal and cold-blooded murder, especially when he believes there could’ve been a better way to save a good friend I can only predict that Iron Man would be out for blood and Hawkeye better count the days he has left because it’s hard to outrun the richest man in the world with some of the most cutting edge technology
First, you know this comics took place years ago right? They are all over it by now Second, I don’t how you understood this video (and I’m sure you did not read the comic) but iron man did not blame Hawkeye, but captain marvel for stupidly trusting a precognition and not finding a better way to deal with this Third, I would recommend you to read the comic, but u certainly won’t. So just do better research before commenting
I can understand why Carol believes in this. Of course you'd want to prevent something horrible from happening. However, Tony's in the right on this. This is about choice and the fact that she's taking it away from the people she's arresting is wrong. They haven't done anything!
Bruce designed something specifically for that himself. Like Hawkeye said... he sees things differently. Think about it this way. The most miniscule detail of Hulk coming out is the one thing Clint had to take a shot at. Anything more than that and it could easily mean the Hulk defends Bruce and that defense also becomes a catalyst for his rage. Bruce himself tried to end his own life multiple times... Hulk always stops it. Even him putting a bullet in his mouth is stopped by the Hulk. So someone else had to do it... someone who could see the smallest detail of Hulk coming out. That would be the best time to do it as Banner would likly be to angry to think clearly... so his thoughts wouldn't be on Clint... and Hulk wouldn't even be given the chance to gain any bit of power from that anger as he would be focused on that and too weak and unprepare the moment he awoke. Both would be completely off guard. Then we have to account for hulks healing. If anyone knew how to do it... it was Bruce. During his research he likly found that the thing keeping Hulk on lockdown would get him killed if he pushed it too far too fast. He also realized that this solution couldn't be shared not because his freinds wouldn't do the right thing... but their definition of the right thing would simply result in the Hulk getting loose again because they would want to save Bruce in the process. Bruce COULDN'T tell anyone but Clint. Cause many of them would try to save him... even if he could convince some of them there would be conflict and that conflict would be enough for it to fail as well. That was apparent in how Stark came with no armor... the one thing he truly felt safe in. Stark wanted to believe so heavily in Bruce that he would take a chance on Hulk coming out and killing him. Maybe because he felt that if Bruce knew Stark trust him it would be enough to keep Hulk away. But again... Bruce already knew all of this. Last of all... Spiderman... His danger sense likly could of stopped Clint from firing that shot or he might have even been able to catch it. So why didn't he? 1. Hulk emerging was a far greater threat and might have thrown off his sense. 2. The shot wasn't aimed at Spiderman... he felt no danger. 3. The shot wasn't aimed at Bruce... so there was no real direct negative intention to anyone who was currently there that Spiderman needed to protect. 4. The shot was aimed at the Hulk... who was always a threat even in his most docile moments. Clint would of had to have been in TOTAL ABSOLUTE FOCUS ON BRUCE in order to detect even the smallest hint of the Hulk coming out. So even as broken as the spider sense is... if anything it likely felt the shot was there to protect everyone from danger... and it felt no need to warn Spiderman about the arrow.
@@shadowlarkmoon That still makes no sense tho. Bruce had even his brains blown out at some point before hulking out and walked it off as the green giant. He's effectively immortal. Elsewise someone would've just killed him in his sleep. This specific case with Clint tho, suppose it gets a pass because it was by Banner's own design.
Depends on the continuity, majority of the time the answer is no, but there are also many instances where this isn't the case (since Hulk's been around for more than half a century now). One notable example is Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, among a few controversially executed deaths such as Spider-Man, Deadpool simply cut Banner's head off shortly after he was woken up, as Hulk always reverted to Banner as he slept in this universe.
The second i heard *Maria Hill tells Bruce: Bruce Banner am putting you under arrest* it became clear she learned deep in shit nothing from when she tried to apprehend Captain America. She should really get dragged down from her high hill.
It's so out of character for Clint to have done this considering his history with the law. Also I'm surprised Bruce didn't go to Logan. If anyone could have done the killing without hesitation and lived with it, it would be Wolverine.

For begin able to see into the future. Why did no one have the foresight to realize that pulling up to Banner's home, in a squad of superhumans, who riffled though his files and is accusing him of a crime that he hasn't committed yet, would trigger his anger out of this world?
Man i miss the old carol danvers ms marvel from the 90s to 2000s, she used to actually be a cool and likeable hero/ character. Plus the suit was sooo much cooler and not just because it was more attractive but even if that was the only reason theres still nothing wrong with a character being attractive and wearing sexy costumes especially when it comes to super heroes and anyone who thinks otherwise need to grow up/ go touch grass and stop being so negative/ overly worried about being pc.
This is Civil War II right? Where Carol attacks Thanos based on one of these 'visions' and gets Rhodes killed? With that one prophetic mutant whose powers were only deemed 10% accurate upon research by Tony?
Best part of this is this is the whole reason why the future where the Hulk goes ape even happens because they revive Hulk, not Bruce Banner but the Hulk. And well an angry Hulk with no Bruce to keep him in check is a bad combination.
Wow they absolutely butchered Captain Marvel's character in this. No wonder people universally hate her both in comics and MCU. Writers seem to constantly want ruin her it's really annoying.
When I read the first Civil War, I was disgusted by Iron Man and Carol Danvers. When I read the second Civil War, I realized I hadn't seen anything yet. I saw how disgusting and despicable a fictional character can be under the guise of a hero, and how much disaster cowards can cause when they have power. It's sickening that under Captain Marvel's name, the idea that "everyone is guilty until proven innocent" has been so widely accepted.
He never hulked out. And Clint still shot him in the head. Even in the midst of his speech, never turned. Clint is wrong. And yes, he should have been arrested. He knew what he was doing was wrong. And he did it ahead of time.
@@codyteague6979 He backed up but was not proud of it, eitherway I don't know if that was warrented or not in the end he could be mistaken and even moreso it felt like the vision was a self fullfilling prophecy
Honestly if you consider all the things Danvers has been through and the things she's done then she has no place being a superhero. I mean that in the most serious of ways, I doubt that this woman would pass the psych eval for the KGB let alone SHIELD. She was a neurotic, possible narcissist from day one in the comics and if not for how great she was drawn then I think that she would have been one of the most unlikeable characters in their roster. Not to mention the horrible stuff they put her through. I mean just that thing with Immortus' kid was just beyond cringe.🤮
Daredevil can only tell if someone thinks they are lying. It is also not admissable in court. And people with specialized training can train themselves to to lie without giving it away.
Tony rightfully got flak for what he did in the first Civil War. So it makes sense he'd take issue with what Carol and Clint did to Bruce here. Honestly, I feel like the Ultimate universe should have never existed because it ruined pretty much every character except Spider Man. And Civil War...well I really don't need to go any further on how this arc poisoned the well even further.
And then the awful "Civil war 2" happens and Carol kills Tony. This was around the time the Endgame and Captain Marvel movies were out/coming out. There was an obvious push from Marvel to kill off Tony both in Comics and MCU and replace him with Captain Marvel in hopes she would be their most popular figure head for the franchise. This is where the Brie Larson hate started, and at first it was uncalled for, she was just the actor and people were acting as if she was the brains behind it, but then she started mouth off at the fan's, by insulting them or claiming they were just sexist neckbeards. And they wonder why she was hated and so was Captain Marvel.
So they basically did their own take on the movie "Minority Report". That movie showed why predicting crime is not a good idea and always leaves questions because anyone can change at any time.
Till this day it amazes me how they mischaracterized a lot of the characters. Not only Tony but a lot of other heroes would have lost when banner was killed. A lot of them saw what happened in the first civil war. This story was thrash asf
Clint: "My eyes are really good!" Tony: "No, Clint. You didn't see things clearer from a hundred meters away than the dozens of super people that were starring at the man!"
Was captain marvel always like this from the first time she ever appeared in comics? Because i don't remember her like this in some animated series and movies and i will have a different thought if the writers screwed her.
Can you link your videos together? I'm sure it would increase your viewer count. I am lucky enough to have read civil war 2 through marvel unlimited but your retelling is awesome and I love it. But what good is it when every video I watch is from something completely different and I can't even find a complete story. I just want to watch something marvel from start to finish and I don't even know if you have ever done a complete series or if you just take one comic and make a video for it then go and for some stupid reason take a completely other comic that has nothing to do with the last one and go hey I'll do this one now. It's entirely frustrating because I really would love some complete stories. If it's copyright stuff and you guys don't want to get shut down I totally understand.
Instead of try to change the future peacefully, She straight up with solution that all of them should be arrest or unalive, This comic made me hate her so much
Is this an alternate Hulk, one that hasn't killed innocent people over and over again in his rampages? Were those other criminals they stopped, first timers that have never done anything wrong?
There also wasn't a single hero there who could even slow down an enraged Hulk. And they obviously couldn't get Thor or Hercules on board because they would never have agreed with this.
I'm gonna be honest, i never thought Tony cared that much about Banner because of how much they have let him down ever since the orignal run of the Avengers back in the 60's, i guess it's one of those cases where you only value someone after you lose them
It's funny how the same tony stark says bruce banner is his friend when he was one of the illuminati who sent him away. Which btw caused hulk to unleash so much destruction on earth when hulk returned.
When in Civil War 2 you have Iron Man AND Captain America in the same side and agreeing, you know that the opposite side is on the wrong. The worst of this part is not this. What happens with Spiderman is even worse.
I have yet to see an iteration of Carol Danvers that isn't the poster child for "useful idiot". No matter what iteration it is, Danvers becomes that one superhero that either makes other heroes look bad, or ends up being bad herself.
Why, oh WHY?!! Does this remind me of the movie "Minority Report"?!! Where a force of "Future Crimes" police go around in specialized vehicles and then arrest and imprison people for crimes that they "will commit" in the future, but haven't done so thus far. This is the MCU equivalent of that movie I think!
It would really be useful if those who create these videos would list the comic book title and issue # where these things occurred. I have a monthy subscription to Marvel... I could read this story. Except that I have no way to find it. You need to post where this story can be found.
Lowkey Bruce was right, because normally Hulk can easily stop a bullet if Bruce is being shot at, so an arrow should be no problem unless he literally could not turn into the hulk. Now mind you of course it was a special arrow that might have killed him or the hulk regardless but still. He didn't actually turn into the hulk. Also yeah the whole "guilty until proven innocent" thing here with how they use future looking boy is a bit silly.
I've never hated a fictional character like Captain Marvel so much. What a detestable character, she is the true definition of Mary Sue, well at least it's the way she acts in every story she appears in.
Okay when they reach the part where they mentioned the inhuman who can see possible futures is this in connection to the storyline where Miles gets blamed persecuted and arrested for the possible death of Captain America? Because I remember that kicked off because somebody said you might kill him in the future.
I like to know where Jennifer Walters was in all of this? You know damn well she would be there as an attorney in all of this with chances of going after Danvers herself because of her future visions have caused more grief than good.
Personally I agree with Carol. There was reasonable suspicion that THE HULK, an EXTINCTION level threat, would go on a rampage; given all of the prior eyewitness accounts of what the hulk is capable of, taking Bruce out before disaster strikes makes BY FAR more sense, even if they knew about the 10% chances. Especially if his visions are said to come true “more or less” when they are correct.
I mean, you can't consent to your own murder. That's basic 101 law regarding homicide. They could have just given Hawkeye a sentencing with parole and just had him reenter the Avengers to serve his time. It would give the people the idea of "This is a show trial" while still having at least one foot in plausible legal consequences.

@@blazingshadow2669except this is not just assisted suicide. When lives of many people are in danger in USA you are alowed to take lives as long as damage you cause is necessary and less than damage that would happened anyway.
Hulk when unleashed and out of control is a force of nature that might have killed some heroes there... And if they were to reach a residential area at their battpe hundreds would have died. Hawkeye took 1 life with consent

Now you have an unstoppable creature of rage and power set loose on the world because this is what future the vision was predicting and their actions by killing Banner MADE IT COME TRUE.

Sounds like an absolute dogshit writing. Goddamn.
Really odd. The whole thing proves that the visions aren't accurate, and this was not brought up as evidence against Shield/Danvers. Is that being kept as an end-game discussion of the story or, is just no one going to talk about it? Lol
Yeah that was my thought too. They just proved the visions aren't inevitable.

I've always wanted to see if Bruce Banner could just be killed like this before he even has the chance to become the Hulk.
The answer is no
Bruce designed something specifically for that himself.
@@user-gk6nt5gi5n will he appears to be dead so yes just not in conventional means
Wolverine didn't have the skill to put Bruce down before he could transform, though. It required a perfect shot without Banner seeing it coming.

Lowkey Bruce was right, because normally Hulk can easily stop a bullet if Bruce is being shot at, so an arrow should be no problem unless he literally could not turn into the hulk.
Danvers was wrong, period, but I REALY wish that when Stark said "Who's next? Someone would have said "Goliath... oh wait."

They could have just given Hawkeye a sentencing with parole and just had him reenter the Avengers to serve his time. It would give the people the idea of "This is a show trial" while still having at least one foot in plausible legal consequences.
