Getting out on the road is what Linda and I love to do with our converted cargo trailer camper. We're part time nomads and the nomadic lifestyle suits us to a Tee. Whether your RV is a camper van, camp trailer, travel trailer, motorhome or just a car and a tent, there's going to be something interesting for you in the videos we produce. Back roads and overlanding are part of what we do while exploring the western states for beautiful, peaceful and sometimes remote places to camp on BLM and National Forest land (public land). Taking care of ourselves as much as possible and doing our own repairs is a must because we travel on a fixed income and a limited budget. If you're into being off-grid and boondocking or doing dispersed camping whenever possible then you'll appreciate the discussions on batteries, solar panels and solar chargers or power stations and 12v refrigeration. Come on along, we're happy to have your company!

It was a fun weekend! My girls learned a lot and had the best time!. My 7 yr old was like, "mom, I can't believe I did this and did that...this was the best weekend ever!"
Our trailer worked out well with all the new storage and beds. My kid only fell off the bed once! Haha.

If they fell out of the bunk maybe you could attach another pipe, like you did for bunk, 6-8" above each one. That may prevent fall outs. Could even attach a sheet to each and run it under bunk to create sides. They can be removed like bunk that way.
Great video and glad you all had fun. Nothing better than making memories.

Hello Samurai Mama, I have a question for you, and hope you can provide some answers based on your experience with your cargo trailer and your tow vehicle (as shown in this video). While viewing this video, I am interested in possibly building out a trailer similar to the 7 x 14 trailer owned by you, and would likely pull it with a used (about 2008) Chevy Suburban (gas engine) I would purchase to tow it. At this point I don't have a truck or trailer, but those two thing are on my "wish list." From my research I have found that the Suburbans get about 12 - 14 MPG (on average, info from FUELLY). But, I am wondering what the MPG would be if pulling a loaded 7x14 trailer just like yours (with some build out done inside, water, Propane, etc.), and if the suburban was packed with gear and food/water, and typical camping gear. Also, I would want to travel to locations like shown in this video (Western states mountain areas with dirt roads). Please tell me what you see for gas mileage with your Suburban (and year/engine) both when empty and when loaded with camping gear and towing your trailer. Also, is the trailer an aluminum frame or steel? One last thing, is towing your trailer difficult when on typical dirt roads (is the ground clearance good enough and at the hitch)? It appears to have dual axles (I think that is my preference too).

Nothing like family time out in the woods And there is nothing wrong with playing in the dirt at any age. We all say oh to be a kid again yet very few play like a kid. Sound of the stream is my favorite sound, that would be my spot for sure, perfect natural white noise...Although camping next to streams comes with a higher chance of encountering wildlife, being that you guys have trailers, shouldn't be a problem unless Sasquatch tips you over...Ha ha...Hopefully you make it unscaved through the testing(ginnypig) phase of product review....Nice trailers, you've been a fine influence on your daughters and their families...The ultimate compliment...

Portable RO...first time I've heard of such a thing. Thanks!
I have Sawyers that removes fertilizers and metals it is the squeeze membrane style, so to get any volume and I haven't used it yet...one.of the Crises deals. But a Portable RO...that got my attention! I've installed a few in Brick and Sticks..
I've always had a cargo build on my radar..I have Envoy like yours and really like getting into locations most chose not to go. But the comfort of a trailer at my age, 67, is becoming more appealing..😁. Don't always comment as I get long winded..

Those people who leave trash behind make me so mad. If I caught them doing it I would take their picture, a picture of their vehicle and license plate, and I'd turn them in. There is no need for that.

@@gonagain Thanks. I think this topic (how does hauling a cargo camper affect gas mileage) would be a good one, since your family has three different trailers, and some different trucks and similar builds (not too heavy on wood inside). In particular, I would address the tow vehicle's engine type, year, and typical gas mileage on highway or when on camping trips (that may involve some mountainous areas), and the possible differences in weights of the towed cargo trailers (if one is considerably heavier due to size, another lighter due to aluminum frame, etc.). I think this would be a very interesting video for your subs and UA-cam, and your husband would be a very good presenter, because of his experience helping the builds and the family use of them. So, you all may know some things such as "7x14 dual axles are more difficult to back in camp spots" or "highway wind resistance on the larger/heavier/dual cargo camper reduces MPG ..." or similar judgement/ opinions based on actual use. I hope you might be able to address those things. For example is the 7x14 much more difficult to tow, back, maneuver on typical dirt roads and campsites in forests or BLM land? ?? Thanks for considering these questions. :)

Sorry about those dirty birds who didn't take out their own trash, they give us a bad name. Once about 30 yrs back, a law enforcement BLM Ranger stopped me in the middle of nowhere asking if I had any open containers?? Meaning was I driving with a beer 🍺 in hand?? (and yes I was, but hid the can) I did show him Two Large bags full of garbage that I had collected from campsites near where I had camped. He was So impressed with my Good Deed, he requested that I show up at the field office when I return. When I arrived, they gifted me with an Honerary BLM Stewardship Badge including a hat. All that, for Cleaning Up other bad campers garbage. That made me fell good inside. God Bless Y'all, the Entire Gonagain Family. 🌝 👋

Such great videos, and those kids will carry those memories for the rest of their lives. Money can’t buy these times.
I’ve not been too impressed with my clam, problems with seems ripping and poles coming through the fabric. Only 15 months old. Seem sealed kept dry.
    Looking at other brands now.
But most of all, the family thing is awesome!
    I’ll shut up now.

Hello Doug, our Clam has taken some abuse, having been blown down a few times, and hasn't ripped or been damaged at all, but we only use it occasionally. I'm sure if we used it more often it would cause more damage.

Excellent video! Yes, Cargo trailers are built tough! I'm going to steal your ramp racks idea...My 4x6 v-nose toy hauler-camper-theater is quite compact compared to yours. Front 4x5 deck plus roof rack and hitch rack is extra room for 2KW Inv-Gen, LP bottles, Solar pnl, and Awning. 3 cabinets house cooking equip. and the 24"TV/entertainment ctr. Twin tri-fold sofa-bed, 5K BTU AC, elec heat and induction cooktop complete the collection (so far). Planning a folding room pinned onto my ramp that will be outside galley and inside privy w/shower pan. that will tie down on the front deck. Pulling it with a 1.8L Scion XD gets well over 20mpg!

Hello Alan, she didn't, darn it. I can tell you that they straddled the vertical frames in their door to give it more support and used a plywood backer on the inside as well to help with the through-bolts. If you wanted, or needed, more support you could take the paneling off the door and install plywood pieces inside to fill the inside gap and give more strength.

Almost missed this one. That garbage thing is a pissoff. Don't go into the brush surrounding your seemingly serene campsite because about 30 feet in is where you start finding used toilet paper. I shown and explained how easy it it to use a 5 gallon paint or mud bucket with a pool noodle fitted to the rim for comfort. Then a trash bag with a couple inches clumping kitty litter in it. Pull the bag up and tie a knot and dispose in a dumpster just like dog poo or baby diapers. You can store the bags smell free after they're tied shut until you can find a rest area dumpster. Clean easy, sanitary. Leaving bags of garbage is totally unacceptable. You can look through it and see if there is an address label then return it to the hood of their car.
Glad you had fun with your family. Take care.

Pour half the batter into your greased pan that fits inside the instant pot and cook on high for 27 minutes and do a quick release. Remove. I used a springform pan so removing the cake was quick and easy, then grease it, pour the second half of batter. Repeat process.

RO has a clean output and a waste stream the waste stream is concentrated waste it is not filtered.
Also be aware the RO water also takes out minerals. Pure water is considered hungry water and actually pulls minerals from your system.

We have a lot of experience with industrial and marine RO systems and they are great for desalination but not so much for camping.
Suggest you get a TDS meter they are very inexpensive and will tell you general water quality. There is a brief glimpse of this on our water system video. After testing we went back to an in-line filter and if water is biologically questionable a sawyer mini or steripen.
Even though we love gadgets we find that KISS is a good principle at least for us 🤔

    • @gonagain
      @gonagain  2 роки тому

Most all of the commercially built travel trailers will come apart if you pull them over uneven roads and terrain. The twisting of the trailer box is what does it and It's just a matter of time before the front seams (where the sides meet the front) start opening up. The only trailers that don't do this (that I am personally aware of) are the one-piece fiberglass trailers and some of the Outback brand trailers that happen to be built for dirt road use. Cargo trailers that you convert yourself are the least expensive way to go.

The main road I would be taking is not just dirt! It also has alot of Rocks! 🥴 I also know
From someone who used to ride a bike here
That he got flats from sharp rocks!
I have been ride a small
Tractor so I know about the sharp rock's! I made my own path somewhat
      Along side the main road!
The guy on the bike I mentioned bought fat
Tires and didn't get flat's any more!
I can't get Pizza delivered anymore because of how bad the "rocky" road is! Coward's!!! You just need to slow down! 🤗
I was told & I do know about this...you have to be carefull because you can get griped by a couple rock's and get flipped! But I made that
Road/path next to the main road! 🤗🤗🤗
The road is only 1mile plus a pinch!
Why don't you buy a Dog's trailer you pull behind a bike & put some added padding to
      Make it more comfy!🤗
There are different sizes! You can get one that is enclosed with a screen that zips so she wouldn't get bugs and
Dirt on her! That sounds like fun!!! And when she doesn't want
To go along you could use it for when your ride encludes going to the store or for Pizza 🤗
