Had a Pomsky named Jerome. He was my best friend and he had a very distinct personality. Really showed a lot of emotions and curiosity. If I ever get another dog, it will probably be another pomsky. Also, if you're thinking about getting one, they do need a lot of attention. But sometimes that just means being with them. Further, they don't shed too bad at all so long as you brush them and get them groomed. Jerome, if you're reading this, I hope you're happy :)

I have a pomski. She is not high maintenance. She is sweet and easy to train. She has great playful nature that my young children can keep up with. She has protected my kids from strangers. Great dog.

As an owner of a Pomsky I also would like to stress that they are extremely high maintenance and energetic - not a fantastic choice for a first time dog owner. If you aren’t ready to walk a dog for hours a day, don’t get a Pomsky. A pet is not a toy or an accessory. :)

@N1THYA only if you think they are an accessory and not an animal that has needs that need to be RESPECTED not treated like a TOY.
We have a 15 year old STANDARD pure breed Pom. Who we allow to BE a DOG as well as a Family member and a cherished FRIEND.
He is HAPPY, LOVING, AND PROTECTIVE OF OUR WHOLE FAMILY.... AND THAT INCLUDES A KITTEN THAT JUST ADOPTED US THIS SPRING.... HE IS WELL ADJUSTED AND UNDERSTANDS IF YOU RESIDE IN OUR HOUSE YOUR FAMILY AND ARE TREATED AS SUCH.

@N1THYA kinda agree. My cousin has a Pomeranian. It’s a male and has a lot of energy. He also likes to sleep under the couch instead of his bed. He would also bit your jewelry and you. So kinda agree 😅

im getting a pomsky but i have one question. can I take them for walks in the summer? because huskies don't do well in hot places and a pomsky is half husky so I was wondering if that was okay or not.

I spent the day with a Pomsky female who was in town with her owner on a business trip. Her owner was in meetings all day so I took her to my home and we spent most of the day cuddling and taking naps. She curled up right next to me and slept on her back! I had never seen a dog like this before and now I am obsessed with this breed. She was smart and sophisticated. On the metro, she leapt into my lap in the daintiest, most skillful manner. It was so classy! She loved to be petted and she leaned her head on my shoulder. It was very obvious that she didn't like being away from her owner and she enthusiastically ran to her as soon as we got back to their hotel. I fed her tiny little pieces of dehydrated duck meat treats and she had two tiny toys that she was only mildly interested in. Her fine white fur got all over my place, but I hardly mind. Dirt Devil makes excellent attachments for vacuuming up pet hair. Someday I hope that I am worthy of my own Pomsky.

My pomsky is now 6. He’s perfect, an absolute angel. We spent many hours with him as a pup training him to be obedient. We also have golden retriever and I can tell you the pomsky is every bit as intelligent and obedient. Just take the time when they’re small and you’ll have best dog in the world.

My pomsky is the love of my life! His name is De Niro named after my favorite actor ROBERT DE NIRO, he’s 2 years old, and we adore him! As some of the owners stated, he is very high maintenance, extremely energetic, and does love lots of attention. He almost never barks unless someone is literally on our property or rings our door bell, and he LOVES babies and kids. Unfortunately he does shed a whole lot so you’ll need a good vacuum because a swiffer won’t cut it! I have a iroomba so it’s ok. Oh and he doesn’t like anyone hugging or kissing him too much! He literally runs! But he does LOVE his belly rubs. All in all he’s perfect and we love him to death. I couldn’t have picked a better fur-baby than him❤️

I absolutely love my pomsky! She definitely got her mother's personality with her hyperactivity but she's great with helping my kids lose some energy lol. She doesn't bark much though like most but I have 0 complaints about that!! Best decision we ever made was getting her 🥰 completed our family

I have a Pomsky. She's a great dog but requires a lot of attention. She is very smart but very stubborn. ! She's a great watch dog and "alerts" when something is up. She loves all animals & people.
If she gets out the door she will not come when called (Husky) trait. It took an hour to to get her back in the mountains.
I've got to find a good trainer to have her heel & return when called (off Leash). I Love her So much!

Currently have a pomsky... Blake. As a pup, these guys can be escape artists and mine had horrible separation anxiety. After the first year or so, she calmed down tremendously and adjusted to my routine. She grew to full size at 12lbs, definitely not as big as I thought she'd be... but overall the sweetest pup I've ever had. If I had to do it again, I probably would have gotten another pup from her litter. I truly think a 1 dog household isn't right for pomskies, I would totally get two and raise them together.

I got my first Pomsky after I lost my chihuahua to kidney failure. I can’t tell you how much Wiley, my Pomsky, helped me cope with the loss of my chihuahua. He’s an amazing little guy with a huge personality. We just got our second Pomsky because I just fell in love with the breed after getting Wiley. They’re a great breed for companionship.. but they’re high maintenance. They’re pretty intelligent, so they’re good at getting into things they shouldn’t be.
They’re an eye catching breed. Every time we bring Wiley and Juno anywhere.. people always ask what breed they are.

Definitely making a playlist of this kind of content because I really want one, but wanna be able to raise and feed it correctly, and be able to take care of it, I’m gonna do all the research I can before getting one! Thank you for all the advice, and if anyone has anymore I’d be super greatful for it! (Btw I’m not getting one anytime soon, I planned to do it in the future, so I’ll have a long time to learn all I need to know! Or just consider different options for a dog if I think I can’t take care of one)

I have a 6 month old pomsky and the first month I thought I might have made a terrible mistake because of his energy, smartness, stubbornness, house training issues, and rough aggressive play. But then I just fell in love with him and all of that doesn’t matter as much. I just started to work harder on each of the issues until he is now better. However, they can be a run for your money. I love mine so much and we are still in training.

If you’re not ready for long walks, constant stalking, or even changing the pee pads, I’d say wait until you are. Me personally I’ve adapted now but I wish I was ready from day 1. It’s pretty tough.

My cat and pomsky get into a lot of mischief at night. They chase eachother through the house. Other then that, she is super fun. I recommend anyone who have the time and love pets to get one. Your never short on entertainment, thats for sure.

Adopt a dog from a shelter instead, there’s so many amazing dogs waiting for a loving home. I work with dogs and one is a Pomsky, they’re annoying little things, not worth the money. Huskies on the other hand are amazing dogs and if you do your research you should find one in a shelter, have a look on Facebook for Husky Rescue (and then your country).

Google My Little Husky. My husband just bought one from what appears to be a reputable breeder and she ships them too via airplane with a dog nanny. The price for one is not for the faint of heart though and I'm sure you already know that. Good luck

I currently have a pomsky named onyx :) he definitely got more of the husky traits! He has so much personality. Doesnt bark a lot like other pomskies but he’s very communicative about what he needs/wants.
I agree with the statement that they are high maintenance. Of all the dogs i wanted, anything husky was not my first choice. Onyx fell into my lap when a friend could no longer care for him and was going to take him back to a shelter if she couldn’t find a home. By that point i had bonded with him after having cared for him and couldn’t let him go to a shelter. They’re a lot of work and not the type of dogs to adopt because they’re cute, but if you’re really dedicated and put in the work, they make amazing additions to your family. I love my little trouble maker with all my heart and wouldn’t change a thing ❤️

As a owner of multiple Huskies, if you want a Husky get a Husky if you want a Pomeranian get one, this mix was a business move it has no purpose. Huskies are working dogs loyal to the end and won’t bit your kid if his fur or tail gets pulled.
