  • We have the great pleasure and privilege of tasting a bottle of 19 Crimes Red wine from South East Australia, with a very special guest - Anabelle McVine from the UA-cam Channel WineScribble.
John L had first tried this in a restaurant in the United States where it cost considerably more than the price he was able to buy it for in the UK from a discount store - BM.
The wine is aged in a rum barrel to help give it it's unique taste profile.
As experienced red wine drinkers both John M and Annabelle thought the taste profile was not quite complex enough for their personal tastes. They both felt. however, that if you were beginning your red wine journey this would be an excellent bottle to try.

Just bought two bottles of 19 crimes. The dark red and red blend for $26 for both here in the states.

My wife selects my bottles based "pretty" labels, sometimes she stumbles into a winner..
She got me a cab syrah blend called 'Odd Lot',it has comic strip on the label. It actually looks promising.. gonna Crack it tonight and find out.

I 19 crimes wine is about $17 to $25 a bottle in Wine Stores.. But $70 at restaurant is the huge mark up restaurants charge $$$$. Actually Millennials purchase on labels how the label looks that's why wine companies are making labels to appeal to them darker colors with bright color accents.. Have A Delmarvelous Day... Cheers !

Hi Bill, I guess in the UK restaurants the use a multiple of between 2 and 3 and so if it costs as much as $25 in the USA then I can understand where the $75 comes from. Have you tried this wine?/reviewed it on your channel? if so was your view the same as ours and Annabelle's? Have a great day too! Cheers

@@WineMastery No I Have seen The wine but Fancy Labels Worry me that more money was spent on marketing than on the wine. Actually we have a restaurant supply house near us that we can shop in actually anyone can great prices. & it's there. I personally see nothing wrong with a fruit forward wine. I love a nice cab which is rich in tannin's, especially with a nice steak. Cheers...

Bill - totally agree in fact I never see anything wrong in any wine on the basis that just because I might not like does not mean that there will not be plenty of other people who will and probably with a more refined taste palette than mine 🤓

I don't know where, why, or if you really "truthfully"spent $70.00😏 but it's $10 here in the USA (INDIANA)all day long. 🤷🏾‍♂️

@37malakai in an overpriced tourist restaurant in Florida. It was before I started my wine journey 🤣

I did a series on these wines. They have interactive labels. Very inexpensive where I am.

    For me as a Majestic wines and WSET certified…it’s horrible,full of sugar,no complexity…basically it’s fermented grape juice with sugar and water… it’s a 5 pounds wine…but…she’s pretty ☺️

Hi Soulvinum9302, I guess this is definitely one of those wines that relies more on marketing than it's complex wine structure. 😀 But, on the other hand does that matter if people enjoy it? Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and I will pass your compliment onto @winescribble! Cheers!
