Mavn, I would like you to entertain the idea of a build able habitat you can construct on Europa, that you can connect to the mauler. This is something you can leave Europa with, and it can be lowered into the next planet. The reasoning for this would be you could have a pre-assembled living space for.the next planet, or worst case scenario, it could be a starting point for you eventual building of a space station. You can limit your exposure in the harsh environment
i agree
@@flamingowithtophat same
Like -Xenoblade Chronicles X- ship but smaller?
The the rapid deployment bases in halo wars?
The Evermore, at least to me ended up looking like those old steam locomotives all clad in metal plates, onlu missing the plethora of little wheels.
Just needs a proper Time Machine to go Back to the Future!
i was just thinking it looks like the train-lab from Impossible Creatures
I was thinking exactly the same - it looks like a Big Boy (you can look up gameplay of Transport Fever 2 to see them in action)
Suggestion: You declined to make the Evermore into a fighter for good reasons. Maybe instead an episode of converting a blueprint of it into a drone fighter. Something you could print and fly remotely into combat.
Also the new shape of the Evermore reminds me of the Split Transporter ships in X3:Terran Conflict/Albion Prelude, and I love that.
wooo!!! this is the coolest series on youtube ever, and its always so exciting to see the newest upload
I'm glad you are enjoying the series!
Random thoughts
* Next time you need to move a partially built ship around, slap on a control block and a short range antenna (
Yes a pressurized space to be safe if the base brake. Maybe he should build he's turret control room into a small ship equiped with welder and ressources, so he can patch up the base if necessary without risking it's life ?
Thank you for continuing this series. Enjoying it quite a lot.
Thank you for continuing to watch the series! :D
10:37 - Jesse we need to cook!
Very nice space RV
I have to say, that middle A-symmetrical section in the base looks so perfect for an elevator! 😉
The Evermore looks like a modern submersible it's pretty cool!
Another episode, nice! Love love love this series.
Edit: Evermore v2 be looking mighty fine
really enjoying the series mate!
Suggestion: If you round the bottom of the evermore off but in a way that it makes bay doors to cover the drill , move the drill towards the cockpit and add a piston to the back of the drill so that the doors open and the drill extends out.
The newest ship, due to how it attaches to the base, should clearly be called the Lamprey.
I think the Evermore's name stripe should extend up to the cockpit, personally.
Beyond those, thanks for another fantastic episode!
that ball cockpit really looks great, it has that B17 'ball turret' feel to it
Nice work. One small suggestion, when making another ship like your utility ship, would be to add in your remote control on it so you don't have to risk suffocating before you can fill it up with O2. It also has the benefit of not running into situations of needing it later and not having it.
Glad to see the spectator cam is finally fixed. There really is something those shots add to videos.
Also, it's kind of cool how the design language each ship is formed by the planet's unique challenges. Europa's ships look like underwater subs for example. (The new Evermore in particular looks a bit like the sub from the old Disney Atlantis movie.. provided you remember it ;) )
I like the idea of your base expanding into the turret towers and then sort of consuming them or integrating them into the complex. Might make for a uniquely cool look.
The new Evermore looks like a streamlined version of Doc Brown's train from BTTF3. Love it
EXACTLY what I thought too.
I cannot help but think the new utility ship looks like a bus in all the right ways. In my head I have already started calling it "The Bus"
I had an idea for building out your base. At the beginning of this you mentioned that your turrets might interfere with expansion. They wouldn't if your base was a series of modules that you build in a circle around the mining pit, connected by some sweet glass tube walkways.
You already have your hangar module. You'll need a command center, a barracks, a production module, and maybe a mainframe module where you keep batteries, programmable blocks, and timer blocks.
In between each of these you can place a defense tower that's accessible for maintenance from the glass-cpvered walkways.
And, you can have an awesome overlook on each module into the mining pit.
loving watching this episode 😍 that utility ship is bloody unique, having the (diy) pressurise door connector AND conveyer connector along the side is AWESOME!!!! plus the redesign Evermore looking more like a gun-ship, I take the shot-gun! lol
The utility ship's pressurized cabin with docking on both sides reminds me of the Aurora ship from Star Citizen.
these spectator shots have gotten so much better!
Wow! The Evermore is gorgeous!
In the Utility Ship if possible place a sensor to detect you to make sure to pressurize to cabin area that way you don't have to "look for the switch" it will depressurize once you get into the cockpit and opon exiting it will automatically pressurize >> a timer block on loop to close the doors ( 2-3 seconds) should allow you to get in >>>
The hinge system that others have mentioned, works well. Tool < hinge part and on sides opposite of each other mag plates/ landing gear 1: to attach to floor/ wall/ ceiling when not in use 2: to lock it in while using ( reduce tool shake)
While mining don't forget about sorter(s) and ejector(s) for the excess ore (unless you plan on right clicking .... Ice fills cargo faster than stone
The Evermore is looking good, Mavn!
Suggestion for your Utility ship. Maybe put a landing gear under the nose to help lock the tool in place.
Brainstorming some ways to fit all the tools on the little ship I came up with this stuff:
If you put a hinge part right on the tool heads you could mag lock the tool head to the back/bottom of the vessel and you just grab the one you need, limiting the amount of pipping you would need. I'm picturing the hinge swinging horizontally and not vertically so that they can pass through properly to be attached. The attach command is connected to the outside (housing) part not the inside part.
If you replace the big square conveyor converter part to a vertical motion hinge and implement the hinged tool heads you could store all three tool types on the underbelly because the "middle" stored tool would have a means of being pulled out (flipping the tool arm all the way through the hinge motion. OR If you put another rotor at the back with the tool heads mag locked to that you could spin it to the correct tool. This second method would have these moving parts the arm rotor, the tool head holder rotor, 3 hinge parts (on the tool heads), and 1 hinge housing; only one full hinge would be active at a time.
Don't forget remote control on the new utility ship! We all know you'll wind up needing it somehow... 😆
What a cool build for that Ore ship, good work!
Where possible, I've been building (small grid) ships off a connector, because I can drop one onto an existing connector, weld it up, and connect it pretty easily.
That being said, this current version of the Evermore is my favorite. That really looks cool!!
Man, you know how to build really cool looking ships. I build frogs and leeches with thrusters everywhere
Putting pistons on the grinder/welder so they could retract when not in use would be pretty neat.
couple more cool looking ships. still good sound choices too
Love the new Evermore look!
Wow, this episode literally went so fast! I love the new utility ship, and the Evermore 3.0! Add in a little Reaver Shenanigans and it went so fast I barely got settled in before it was over! Can't wait for next week!
Also, Bravo on the Evermore. That ship is beautiful. If you brought the hull down a little on the bottom, and recessed the drill and hinge into the fuselage, you could retain that sleek image
You could put the 1x1 wheel suspensions perpendicular to the grinder, just behind the head, instead of in front. You'll still get some protection, and the grinder won't take away the wheels.
That's a big dangling drill you got on your ship
The Evermore looks like it'll be plumbing the depths of an ocean soon, reminds me of those ROVs they use.
P.s. if the drill pushing down is a good idea to save the sleekness and the function as well.
I love how you brought back the season 1 soundtrack, but ngl... I miss the storm music.
The evermore looks so cool it looks like a down sized capital ship
Mavn, you can set any vent to "depressurize" and it will pull oxygen into any available containers, and if you don't have any available containers it will pull oxygen directly into the cockpit for you breath.
And you did that later 🤦♂
You're too good to us MadMavn, all these well edited episodes of good SE content!
Oi I started a similar challenge world on my own recently, but instead of no suit, I have a severely nerfed jetpack AND movement speed. small grid only too. Fun playthrough for anyone on any world because of the creativity it inspires in both watching and playing it. love the series and the channel.
Small grid even for your base? Dang!
The evermore ore scout is cool ✨👌
The Evermore looks gorgeous great design, can't wait to see it fly!
Let's GOOOOOO
I think that Rob is a good name for the new utility ship
Evermore looks pretty good. And it will be great if it'll have some sort of "pocket" for miner.
Love this series. Have learned more about SE watching this series then any other channel. Keep up the great videos.
I'm betting you already know but just in case, the connector passages have been updated recently and I believe there is now pressurization. I doubt that the update came out before you were recording this but perhaps in the future that will be a functionality that you can take advantage of.
Hey, for your utility ship you should put two hinges on each side of the lower utility arm like that : conveyor | hinge | conveyor | hinge | conveyor
So that you can either retract both or just the one not used to limit "possible collisions"
the hinges should move left and right and not up and down to keep ground clearance
you could even put a little timer thing to make it rotate + deploy when you want to switch head
Better word for an ore scout is a "prospector" :)
I really look forward to these videos every Friday, thanks for making these for us
I like making those small grid ships with large grid ore detectors. I haven't seen anyone else do it until now. I was trying to figure out how to make a small grid ship with a large grid railgun, but I was having a bit of trouble trying to make it look good, and I think the power requirements might be a bit high unless you want it to be a one shot thing.
Absolutely love the new ship, and love the Ever mores refit, it looks so cool haha
Hey,
Firstly, I love your videos, quite entertaining and sometimes educating too
Secondly, you should check out the optimal solarpanel arrangement -> they won't cast a shadow on each other (performance-wise) if you put two panels togheter closely (back-to-back). So you can get twice as much performance from one sheet (one sandwich).
I really like the look of the Evermore now, that's a good lookin' ship.
That conversion of the evermore blew my mind. I was never expecting it to look so good when you started placing the ore detector. To me, it looks like a heavy duty submarine for deep sea exploration (more like deep space exploration in this case :D)
You should really take care of the conveyor junction below the rotor of your utility ship. I made a somewhat similar design and somehow I managed to lose the junction but barely anything else a few times already. It has a layer of half armor blocks around the junction, but if I bump into something with bad luck or get an unlucky shot the junction just vaporizes (Maybe I should also stop misusing it as an assault vehicle against ASSERT with the "emergency gatlings" it is outfitted with :/).
However, it might be helpful if you had a spare "tool subgrid" lying around outside your base in case you lose the subgrid.
Also, is there a name for the utility ship yet?
The Evermore transforms once again.
I think the best way to protect the base without compromising the expansion is to make a perimeter and build weapons there keeping in mind the range of the weapons so that each can still shoot if the enemy is at the center of the perimeter
Great episode, bar one thing
Not enough Neon ;)
Another great episode
Put Remote and AI block on Utility Ship and set range to 100 meters. Incase cockpit gets damaged, also see if you can put doors to isolate from cockpit and keep pressure inside.
Absolutely love Evermore design! Can you design fighter that takes Evermore design and put 2-3 turrets where detector is.
Evermore today: Well, that escalated quickly
You could grind down the M on one side to make it the Ever Ore while it's serving as an ore scout.
You should have made the Ore detector with a glitter skin and rotate, then had some flood lights on it. LOL
Just a thought but you could add hanger doors in-between the new hanger and set them up to close if you have decompression in the base
At some point you have to do a "metamorphis" video of the Evermore where you show the transforming from one shape to another.
Id install a merge block to your tool head and the utility ship to eliminate the subgrid shenanigans SE likes to play
You can't merge a subgrid to its direct parent. You'd have to make it a sub-sub grid to merge it with its "grandparent", and extra subgrids on a small ship like that is just asking for trouble.
if you add some landing gear to the bottom of the ship it might make the drill stand out less
i am here to watch this and im early to nice . keep this up mavn u have the makeing of a grate youtuber
Love the Intro! o7
That sweet sweet smexy look of the Evermore :) ive had the same issue with my guns and ammo Ive put sorters below each gun so they get the ammo needed so far its worked fine for me
I hope you Blueprinted the Evermore! Also, your drilling setup seems to have been hit and damaged by the Reaver attack.
Watched and 👍 Liked
If you're going to keep the downwards facing connector on the Evermore, then I don't think the drill takes away anything from the looks. Although it might look better if it ran along more of the ships length. Just adding some pistons would probably appear too flimsy, but maybe you could beef them up somehow?
Should use the advanced rotor head to attach large grids lol
the new utility ship looks like a flea
I'm a bit behind on my viewing, but man you can build some seriously stylish ships
don't forget to blueprint your new ships
I like the chassis design but with the wielder/grinder area, I thought you would go the Modular design. That way you can have a couple wielders, grinders, or drills if need be
Idea for towers: mobile. Either on wheels or with thrusters, then make a pipe to them. Can move the pipe easily and the tower doesn't have to be deconstructed every time.
Also, to solve the cockpit vs flight seat behind glass issue, you might be able to use the mod Block Combinations, which I believe includes combined glass pane/cockpit blocks that are airtight. In the same category of mod, Offset LCD and Text Panels does the same thing but for, well, you guessed it.
im at 18 min in , and i see you are having issues with the lifesupport so i was thinking using the industrial cocpit would give you access to better fission and maybe still allow you to build as well as maybe better conveyer access
Building a large custom turret could help
The NSS Ever-Ore
Would it make sense to call the new form of the Evermore the Everm-Ore Scout?
Need to replace that nonsense hanging from the bottom with three pistons attached facing forward. One with a grinder, one with welder, one with a miner. Single control to change between them.
Last time I played Europa, there wasn't any ore. Just ice all the way around so I had to scrap ships
better than a rotor is a merge block and connector. okay i take it back the rotor is incredible
*weeps* I missed you last week.
The Evermore is really cool but how do you plan on landing it outside the base? It is missing some kind of landing gear.. Otherwise great ship! As for the utility ship, how about a turning drill rig with added thrusters so you could do circular holes?
Mad maven is back baby!!!?!??!??!??!!!!!!!!?
I would love to see a MadMavn based PvP server…
12:12: How are you going to go mining on an asteroid with an atmospheric ship?
For your tower, why did you not do a triangular top? With the turret aim angle, a 45 degree triangle can make them have 0 dead angle while aiming in the sky
Just a thought, would pistons work better than conveyor blocks on the utility ship? that way the welder/grinder tools wont stick out so far? might make docking and moving around a little easier as you could adjust how far in or out the utility was?
the evermore ore
Now that the evermore is an ore scout, you should remove the "m" and change the name to ever ore...lol
Kidding. The new build looks great.
Could just paint the "m" red, so it blends into the background without officially changing the name.
Not played SE for a long time, but does the decoys on the end of rotating arms still cause the ai to miss? Because if so that might be a good idea to help protect your base.
When do u plan to get ur suit. Because I believe all u need is sliver if I'm not mistaken, ps it would make building so much more easier. Look forward to future vids
Put the defence towers on the roof
Is it just me, or does the new utility ship remind me of an octopus?
They both have large heads/bodies which are supported by arms that are able to use tools.
