I volunteer at a makerspace where I use the laser cutter to make stencils and rubber stamps. Next to that, I've made storage solutions to fit my needs and other handy tools. So to crafters, I suggest visiting a makerspace near you instead of investing in such a machine yourself.
Thanks Tiffany. Not something for me based on the size of the machine, and the smoke/heat issues and the cost would be another issue. I'm sure there will be many crafters who will appreciate your honesty and your review. Thanks for all you do!
I really loved your take on this! Most reviews focus very much on available model(s), whereas you address whether any laser cutter will be a good investment for a crafter by example of the xTool M1. I have been sniffing around that particular rabbit hole for about two years now (they are so tempting) and luckily, I really don't have the space for a machine like that, lol! I use my Silhouette Cameo and my die-cutting machines regularly. I love my Big Shot Switch and will nevertheless often just use the generic small hand-operated little brother for ease, so I know myself ... Thanks for the video!
WOW. So many amazing possibilities. Feels like the right product for someone who likes to do a variety of types of projects. Overkill for a paper crafter. Love the sign. And so want to engrave cups now!!! I'm intrigued with making my own puzzle. I wonder how clean the cuts would be? Great balanced review Tiffany!
@IngridBlackburn I agree with you Ingrid...lots of possibilities for someone who wants to get into selling. As Tiffany said you could easily go down a rabbit hole buying all of the extras. As a retiree on a fixed income this is just not possible. Great review Tiffany, thanks! Btw, I have missed you Ingrid! I loved watching you and Tiffany and was happy to see you comment.😊💖
I’ve ordered this and it arrives on Saturday, ive had my Cricut for years and recently started laser cutting. I’m restricted with space at the moment so hoping the XTool M1 will help with that.
What a cool machine, thank you for the in depth review. look forward to seeing more of your creations. It is way beyond anything Ido or desire to do, but it looks really useful for a business crafter.
Thanks for the review. I appreciate it. I was looking at it for my business, mainly for chipboard cuts to incorporate into my projects. I also liked the engraving aspect. 20:10 But not sure it is worth it with the $.
Wanted to get the machine but the fact that I live in an apartment in Canada means I cannot keep windows open especially during the winter. The purifier is just too pricy at this point
Do I have a laser cutter? Yes. Did I watch this whole video? Yes. They are fun and can have huge potential. But I think they are kind of over kill for most people.
Thank you for watching. I do agree it is way too much just to have sitting around to maybe use it a couple times. Someone suggested finding a maker space and trying it out there first which I think would be beneficial to some. What types of things do you like to make with yours?
Great review. Not for me. Size, cost, not into the makes. But mostly? I wouldn’t use it, just like I didn’t use other machines that I ended up donating. The more I have the less inspired I get. I need to focus more narrowly, not more broadly. But I love seeing all the things!

I love this idea!!! Thank you for sharing!
Where should I look for a maker space?
I just got one. looking around at how it is used. I am going to use it to cut leather. really useful info.
I've been looking at reviews for this for the past 4 months. This one has me convinced to get the machine for my side hustle business.

Thank you for the software portion. I just got this and I’m tempted to replace my circuit with it.

Very informative. For myself I will hold off.

Just wondering how you ungrouped the letters to move them around please. Thank you
Thank you for an honest review.
Wanted to get the machine but the fact that I live in an apartment in Canada means I cannot keep windows open especially during the winter. The purifier is just too pricy at this point

Omg Im Drooling
Excellent balanced review. The price nearly gave me a heart attack.
Thank you!
Do you know if you can use Silhouette Design software with this tool?
I don't think so. I am not 100% sure though. Sorry I can't be much help.
That’s definitely more quiet then my 3D Printer 🙈
Will it engrave on rubber?
I believe so. People have made rubber stamps with it. I hope that helps

I mostly make holiday decor and sell at vendor markets. I have also made mixed media elements, memory dex boxes, shadow boxes.
Ich habe auch, aber will doch Omtech kaufen. Schneidet nicht immer ganz sauber, bei Holz 3 mm gibt schon Probleme . Sehr langsam und teuer !
I wish they would reach out to me and offer me one lol
