Absolutely brilliant video! I have a few of the Polara balls in the shed and I've always found that they do work. Illegal though. The dimples help them through the air, not on the ground. And you owe them a fiver!
I bought some of these for a club comp that I arranged a few years ago, and on a tricky long hole everybody had to use them. The secret is in the dimples, they're designed to align the ball in flight when it spins so that's why you saw it zipping and correcting itself. It does work, to a fashion. The problem with them is that you have to have a high ball spin for them to work well, so if you're not a big hitter the ball flies very low. Oh - and they don't work on the ground simply because the ball isn't spinning. It's not the weighted one you review. When you aligned it at 90 degrees you negated the effect of the dimples - 45 degrees left or right you would have seen it's true magic. A couple of weeks after the comp that I organised I lost a tenner to a 6 handicapper mate who played the best game of his life never missing a fairway or a green. We played winter rules - pick and place and he kicked my arse round the course. I never won a hole. When we were in the bar afterwards and he was half way through the beer I'd bought him he pulled the ball out of his pocket and gave it to me. It never dawned on me that he'd never let me anywhere near his ball all the way round, because then I'd have realised he'd nicked one one of the polara balls and used it. I didn't get me tenner back.

It is straighter but you lose about a club or two in distance. Polara is expensive ball and I do not use them but I have played matches with those that do. I don't complain as it's less time finding their golf balls in the trees where the alligators, monkeys, .... roam. LOL I don't believe the Polara is designed to stay straight on the greens. I think it's when the ball is airborne. Yes, Dan has an excellent golf swing. Believe me. I am watching the swing closely and hope to take something from it to improve my own swing. I would like to see more of him on this channel.

Just for the record: Dan Gavins has done something no other golfer has ever done. He's the record-holder for the TrackMan Combine Test, which is a test of accuracy and distance with every club in your bag. Gavins' score of 93.0 is the best anyone has ever recorded, from tens of thousands of attempts. Therefore, he is the absolute BEST playing partner and test opponent that Lliam could possibly have, even more than all other professionals, whether in Britain, America, or international.
No warmup, ameteur, not your clubs, brand new ball, -1 in 3 holes. That is a ringing endorsement for the ball and you say it's crap and don't buy it. The reason why the ball moves left and right is because it is always correcting back to center more than other balls due to the dimple design. Since the dimples are deeper, they have more impact on the flight of the ball than is allowed by the rules. That's why you don't see other balls doing that unless they are damaged, which is also against the rules.
I used these balls over 12 rounds in July. They do work, but with a qualifier; the ball speed must be over about 60 mph in order for the unique dimple pattern to do it's job. They're best used with the driver and longer clubs. Using this ball I hit around 80% of the fairways. Without it around 60%. I'm 64 and have lost some pop and these balls didn't help. 220 yards off the tee with a Titliest TruSoft turned into 210 with the Polara. They're very nice around the green and for putting, but don't bother aligning the arrow as they act like a normal ball at low speed. As for the "cheating" aspect, I only used them when I played alone because I'm a little old school that way. If you've got a couple extra bucks, a half decent swing, and value accuracy over distance, give them a try. And Liam, PLEASE ask OMP what the tattoo on his left arm signifies, I'm very curious. The Golfmates in the States love OMP.

TPG, The ball did some odd things but when Dan pointed the arrows perpendicular to the hole, the ball went fairly straight. I'm wondering if that ball position cancelled any effect that might be built in. I think if you turned the ball say 30-40 degrees you might see some difference. IDK but that's my theory. Why don't you try it again. Good seeing Dan again and I'm especially glad you're caddying brought him in the money! Seeya

I don't k ow why companies make these as nobody will ever use them unless their legal somewhere in the world where the R&A / USPGA have no reach like Outer Strongolia. All the best

Liam would you do me a favor ? Omp had you set up with the ball on the hossle ....please hear me out.... if you will set up with the ball on the toe of the club and have the thought in your head that you are going to throw the club to the right or away from yourself in the downswing....I know sounds crazy but I struggled horribly with toe strikes and I was told by a pga pro that setting up on the toe and having that thought in mind that I would be striking the ball crisp in no time and it worked ....just try it .....as good a player as you already are you won't have to have the swing thought because you will compensate automatically because you know you are lined up on the toe and you have to make the club go right or your going to miss it .....I know sounds crazy did to me too but it turned my iron play from so so to where I strike it center almost all the time ....
Sorry but the views of the course and the club house out score you two hahaha. It just went on my bucket list, maybe when I'm 80 and more serious about the game I'll come and visit. But for now next month my wife has thier international show in Vegas so wer are driving up to the Grand Canyon for holiday. What a beautiful golf course.

Bought some of these a little while ago.....They DO fly straight. However, they do not travel very far. I hit my ProV's about 3-40 yards further. But the Polara does fly straight.
That was pretty good... I like it!!! I just don't know about that ball, don't think it does what it claims. It might just a bit, but he played his "slice" shot into that par 3 just as he meant it (I think). Good stuff none-the-less.

They don't work on swing speed above 100 mph if you read further into them that's why aimed at recreational golfers to just enjoy the game more.
