Why are there almost no comparisons (especially not good quality) of the Lauten Eden LT 386 to other equally expensive mics, or mics that already have legendary status like the u87 ai, Brauner vm1/vmx/vma, telefunken ela m 251, sony c800G, U67 etc. Also the cheaper classics like tlm 103, tlm 49, and all other brands.
That means I want to listen to it with all common mics that are used for vocals.
I need a full vocal test for Lauten Eden.( Speaking, singing, rapping /Male low & high voice + female low & high voice)

@@ebraheemrana You could do it automating a Gain utility plugin so that way you don't mess with your volume fader! In Logic is called 'Gain', 'Utility' in Ableton Live and I believe in Pro Tools would be 'Trim'

Hi Colt! Thanks for the awesome tip again! I encountered a strange type of problem about de-essing multiple times in my mixes. I wonder how you act in case of this type of issue in vocal track(s):
    * Sibiliances are basically inconsistent. Sometimes hits very hard, sometimes moderate. When I adjust Pro-DS to a suitable level to the hardest one, it sounds good, but all the other sibilances become dull and lispy. Because of that, I tend to automate de-esser threshold for each "sh", "ch", "t" and "p" occurrences.
    * I found a technique to overcome this hurdle, yet this one has multiple disadvantages: Extracting ESes and non-esses to dual track. I set Pro-DS to extreme de-essing settings. It completely erases es'es :) printed to a track. Inverted the output to hear S-only and printed to another track. Now you can clearly see and gain stage individual isolated S'es! This is incredible. Cons of this technique are obvious as you may think: too many printed tracks easily become very confusing and any changes to the original vocal tracks requires you to do this procedure from beginning.
    Thank you very much!

    Good trick! Thanks.
For those who don't have ProMB, I just thought of another way using TDR Nova Dynamic EQ.
You could send your vocal to an aux track, filter off all the frequencies below 10Khz, then sidechain that aux track to a 2-6Khz band on the original vocal track. TDR Nova has this option if you set the input detector to external sidechain. You can drag a source track onto a specific band and adjust the threshold to suit.
I've not tried this yet but it should work, unless I'm overlooking something stupidly obvious.
Make sure the aux track isn't being sent to the master bus and you should be good.

    • @wale.a
      @wale.a Рік тому +1

I was just thinking of a workaround to this as well for those like me who don't have ProMB and you solution makes sense. In fact, once you have the aux track setup, you can easily use ShaperBox 3 to sidechain the original vocal using the aux as the trigger, since they have added Audio triggers to ShaperBox now as well as band splitting.

@@wale.a "I was just thinking of a workaround to this as well for those like me who don't have ProMB and you solution makes sense"
I just wasn't sure if the 2-6Khz band could be triggered by the 10Khz+ frequencies, or if it would be ignored because they're not the same bandwidth. ie. Would this sidechaining method be volume or frequency reactive?
I'm still yet to try this.
And yes, there are other plugins that would do a similar thing. I just love Nova so tend to stick with that.

@@Dani-El. I haven't tried it myself either, but yes I think it will react to the frequencies at least in the case of ShaperBox, cos the audio trigger in it is just expecting to detect some kind of sound to make it do the ducking. So in this case, if we put the High Pass on the aux up to 10Khz+, then route it to the ShaperBox as trigger, then on the ShaperBox, isolate the band you want to duck to only the 2-6Khz range, I honestly think this would work.

I’ve seen similar techniques as this using a mb comp, but I’ve never actually tried it myself. I tend use automation combined with soothe2 and get really good results. But honestly, I ought to give this technique a try as well, maybe it’s a less tedious way to get what I want to achieve with de-essing 🤷🏻‍♂️

Damn FabFilter. I have the ProQ3, and it’s got the best UI of any plug-in I have. Now I’m gonna have to get their m-band compressor.m, too.

before i watch your videos i use to put a DS after all EQs e COMPs. Now its obvious that its the first thing i have to work on because I really dont want these wrong sibilances getting in the all plugins

Thanks dude appreciate ya. You probably could have used it on your dialogue for the vid it was pretty ssssssy. Do you run another desser after your other inserts such as compression on vox?

Yeah… After watching this video back, it made me realize that I need to overhaul my dialogue vocal chain in the video editing stage lol. I have a whole video over on the tech channel about how I mix my audio for video. But basically I’m just running a four or five band multiband compressor on dialog.
