everyone just casually ignoring the fact that at the end he said the AFL Grand Final will be played between the Brisbane bears and the Los Angeles Angles in 2003? And this was made is 1987? Everyone just letting this just fly over their head or something? like wth EXPLAIN

That was just a prediction by the reporter. Of course there's no LA team in the AFL, but the Brisbane Bears (now Lions) did make it to the 2003 Grand Final and it was played at the MCG.
Not to mention the fact that the Los Angeles Angels is a..... BASEBALL TEAM

Yeah, good prediction about "Brisbane", and maybe the future name of the league "AFL", since NFL was proposed by journalists, back then.

What the he'll did he say at the end?? I understand the Brisbane Bears but the Los Angeles Angels?? And why 2003?? I dont get it 🤔.
I think he has an unrealistic view of afls future popularity, its also an old video, id say the bears hadnt played a game yet.

Brisbane Bears were in their first season in the VFL.
The VFL was somewhat exploring the possibilities in the future of having a team from overseas (such as Los Angeles) playing Australian Football in its biggest competition.
It was a hypothetical scenario, the reporter was suggesting.
Because LA was a proposed VFL team in 1987.

Fox Footy aired this (the ABC) telecast of the 1987 VFL Grand Final about a decade ago. Beyond that, it seems lost to history. I hope oztiger is able to remedy that ...
