I love the RR. It has that old and new mix which I love, something like the Trident 660. I think Triumph should do more bikes like these where they combine their heritage but with a modern take. Stunning, out of my league, bike.
I agree, I love the retro mordern look. the lines of a classic but the details of a new bike.
Exactly, they should continue and do Trident RS :), I would swap my Trident 660 for that immediately :).

I had the RS for a year, and absolutely loved the bike (I own a Thruxton 1200 rs, too). Then the Speed 1200 RR was released and I could not resist that outstanding café look (as well as the more compliant suspension; RS ones are really sporty for road riding). I sold the RS and I’m getting my white RR next week. Can’t wait to have it in my garage.
He have you got on with the RR in comparison?
@@BB3Lions loved the rs, and love the rr way better. I like the rr position, way better control over corners, way better suspension (at least for the road) and the looks are simply amazing. Engine is just as incredible . Cheers!

Triumph lately have improving a lot, in my opinion they have one of the best comprehensive offer in the market.
Waiting on the dirtbike. I have a Triple 800Tiger now and have had 4 955/1050 bikes.
4:23 I could never get past how these bug eye headlights stick out so much. I always like the two circular round ones on the older model.
That’s my hang up…fly eyes on the rs. The rocket headlights are way better!
Bought the RS in matt grey like yours. It is outstanding.
But I admit that the RR, especially in red is a style icon that only comes along once in a decade.

If I should pick one, it would be the RS. I prefer its looks and with my use, I’d go for that one. Sporty road riding, with sometimes long distances travelled in a day, and some commuting as well, I think the RS would be the best pick.
I love the twin headlight style.
Like the new style, but the old twin round headlight touched some strings in my souls that the new style doesnt.

I got to ride the rr at bike week in Daytona this year. What an absolutely incredible machine
The RR in the red colouring, in person, is one of the best looking bikes of the last couple of years. I couldn't believe how much better in person it looked than in videos and images.
However, with my dodgy shoulder I dont think it would be the wisest decision. I'd buy the RS if it was my money. The matt paint looks ace and if you really want, you can get a single headlight conversion kit for about £900 which look baddass.

Personally I love the design of the RR. I did test sit on the bike and it felt very comfortable (relative to my R7..). Def a high quality bike. Felt very well put together
Never liked the twin slanty headlights on the Speed Triple, looked better with the twin round lights - but the RR really does look spectacular. Beautiful....went for the New Speed Twin myself, prefer the motor (just wish it didn't have all the pointless electronic aids) Excellent video thank you Bob 👍🏻👍🏻
RR with heli-bars 1.5" riser kit. Done. Hopefully in the works at Heli.

I sat for some seconds on the RR at eicma. I have a 2000 vfr 800, and I'm 188cm tall, well i was surprised for how comfortable it is compared to mine. I was aspecting it to be waaay more uncomfortable...
I also sit on the R3... that's my bike crush 🥰🥰
Can we get a Speed Triple GT with the cool fairing, but more relaxed ergonomics?
I waited and waited for the RR and when it arrived I was slightly miffed by the clip ons below the yoke, I was hoping for a ace bar set up or clip ons above the yoke. As ride road and track. Plus the price point made me wince. So I bought a mint second hand RS and spending a little on a revalve from MCT. I have a street 765rs and wanted the same agility but with more go for pulling out of bends at the track etc. So the RS gets my vote for versatility. I will be taking my RS euro touring this year too.

I think they did an excellent job on styling the fairing to a Speed Triple body. It flows well. But for 18K'ish I'd pick the MV :D
RR for the looks- coming from an r9t. Would it be weird to put the rs handlebar set up on the rr?
Love the channel more to the point in an easy to listen. i suspect that's due to the lack of nonsense some review channels put up,,like a cheesy fm radio d.j.

I like the RR a lot. I have a trident for daily riding and will keep that. The RR would be a group ride, track day or spirited ride bike not a daily rider for me.
I have only seen the red in the flesh as the local dealer doesn't have a white one on the floor yet. I think I prefer the white but will wait to see it.
That fairing would be awesome on the rs too!

The RS is homely by comparison. Hopefully, Triumph finds some paint for the RS someday. The half assed primer look is really overdone.
If money was no object - the RR is the bike that would be on top of my test ride list. Great video.

I would love a street triple RR
Imagine if they made a full blown 1200cc triple superstort daytona with 200hp with all the electronics, I would really consider buying one.
I'd go for the RS all day. Love the styling. Just wish they came in white. My current Speed Triple is white and I just have a thing for white bikes in general.
Can't you fix the RS handlebar on the RR?
I agree the RS more comfortable but the RR looks are amazing and make it better with the active suspension.

Own the RS, no plans to change it to the RR, definitely don’t like the looks of the RR, if your gonna give it a fairing give it a fairing not just a cockpit one, plus the active suspension only work with in the range as the RS. What they both need are bigger fuel tanks,and maybe a under seat exhaust👍

Nitpicky thing: Triumph mirrors have long been the best teardrop design I've ever seen. I love the ones on my Tiger 8. But some of the recent ones look like something out of a '65 Galaxy. These aren't quite that bad but I'm not a huge fan.
Linked brakes? I like them. I have those on my Moto-Guzzis.
I'm definitely going to test ride the RR, it seems to be aimed at me, as I prefer clip-on bars so long as they aren't too extreme (Ducati Panigale 1299). But I'm not sure it really competes with a Panigale (V2 or V4) in looks or performance, and a BMW S1000RR is probably better technically.
Well I tried the 1200RR, felt instantly at ease with it and now I want one!
Put a deposit on an RR to pick up this weekend but I am torn between it and a thruxton rs. Anyone have an opinion?
the Thruxton looks stunning but with around half the horsepower it doesn't compair to the Speedy. At least as a toy, as a bike to ride daily the Thruxton is probably a better choice .
RR is the way to go, if I can afford one I would buy one, another bike you should consider is: kawasaki z900rs, I like that one too and for a daily, it's the better option, not techy as the RR but I think it's a good option I'm thinking of getting one soon

I like the RS. But I wish the semi active suspension was also offered as an option on the RS….
I loved my 2005 speed triple. In that days it was new but Triumph didnt bring out a new Daytona (the big ass one). I like the 1200RR but hope Triumph will bring out an other real Daytona and call the 1200RR 'Cafe Daytona'.
How safe is to leave my trident 660 with a battery charger connected for 3 months completely unattended inside a house with a full tank?

Yes its hard to choose between these 2 bikes almost similar but yet different. Speed triple RR looks little bit cooler with the half fairing and the round head lamp where as the speed triple RS looks very aggressive for a naked bike. well i choose the RR 😍😍.
I love the RR personally but it's like saying I like this superyacht over that one as I'll never be able to afford either unfortunately.
I rode the RR recently. I'd never buy it just like any other sport bike for its seating position. I prefer a more comfortable upright position on a naked bike. However its electronic suspension impressed me. It was firm but plush at the same time over bumps.

We would really appreciate some light diffusers on those honeycomb lights, it’s very distracting and makes the bikes look bad.
The RR is perhaps the sexiest bike out there. It is just spectacular looking. I can’t get over the bug eye front end of the RS but I do like the riding position. It is funny to me that the RR comes with cruise control. Why? No one is taking that bike on a weekend trip.
Saves yer license, trust me.
I actually think the white is better than the red! But I don't understand why they couldn't have the front fairing continue all the way up to and around the headlight. Or at least in the same colour. Just stands out and ruins the look a little. It's undoubtedly for the air intake but they should have tried harder to engineer a solution!
You have to see the RR in person, then you'll know what a good-looking bike it is.

I’m probably going to trade in my rs for an RR. I love my rs but the suspension is too stiff. After seeing and feeling the rr, it’s a bike you hurt for.
I can't understand why many more younger riders aren't attracted to the new triumphs,they have everything going for them!
Could have had either. Chose the RS. So no its not better. They look alright but I prefer the look of the RS not only that but the riding position. I am not looking to be able to set my suspension. Once its set its set. So the suspension doesn't really do much for me.
i wish they had launched the same in 765 engine, i dont think i require more power than that in this look....
the best is to get the RS then put the on the clip-on handle bar :D
The RR looks like all business and the RS isn't too shabby either..muscle everywhere, no nonsense machines, meant to ride. I have no use for a Speed Triple, but would I really need one to own one ;)
I love the look of the RR (mostly because I don’t like the headlights of the RS), but I wouldn’t want to deal with the riding position of the RR. I guess you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Honestly, the standard Speed Triple styling is dull as dishwater.

On video the RR looks meh, but in person it draws you in. Seating position isn't super aggressive either. Between a speed triple and Daytona
Both of these are far too expensive for me. I wish Triumph would put a proper rear end on the Trident. If it looked more like the rear ends of these two then the Trident would look fantastic!

Why did Triumph not put the semi-active Öhlins in the Speed Triple RS? Epic fail.... I can only imagine for cost reason but I doubt that sb would not want to pay more for a way better suspension. Especially because the Speedys fixed suspension seems to be its biggest problem (too stiff for the road). I would have understood it if they would did this the other way arround, RR with fixed and RS with semi-active.......
the RR is lovely but it's a big premium over the already rather expensive RS.

speed triple looks better. more authentic and genuine. Back in the days , our so call classic bikes is not designed for “retro” look but the state of art tech . As time goes by , they become “classic”. For modern era newer bikes…better take the same design principle which will eventually stand the test of time and becomes “classics”. The “retro” inspired design is just a compromise in some way.

RR for SURE!!!! if I'm spending in the teens for a bike I'm for sure gonna shell out 2k more for this dime piece. RS does nothing for me.

The fairing aesthetic just doesen't works for me.
I'm getting a little long in the tooth for this style of bike but I would have to go with the RR the RS is just plain ugly it looks like a Praying Mantis for God's sake, just what is it with motorcycle brand trying so hard to make their naked sport bikes look like bugs !

i honestly dont get the rr. its going to get smoked by every liter superbike so why kid yourself. if you want a superbike get an s1000rr or something like that. the speed triple is where the money is at.
The RR is more comfortable than full on sports bikes and the performance is more than enough for the road. I wish all the manufacturers would bring back sports bikes for the road.
