  • In this presentation, our faculty member Jessica Borushok, Ph.D., talks about the case of Sarah, a client presenting with panic disorder with agoraphobia.
In this section, Dr. Borushok explains how to apply interoceptive exposure from an acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) stance focusing on acceptance, also known as willingness.
Here are some highlights we’ve extracted from the video:
    * Framing exposure exercises as experiments helps clients become more willing to explore their value-based behaviors.
    * Interoceptive exposure exercises should start with the least distressing symptoms and work up to the more distressing ones.
    * Such exercises should always be debriefed, and clients should be encouraged to practice further on their own.

Thanks for this presentation . After many years of panic attacks I have come to know that travelling into the panic and asking for more is the easiest way to retrain the fear soaked mind.
The nervous system MUST be retrained. The work MUST be done.
