Part 3 of the Suffolk engine rebuild. In this video the engine is re-asembled and finished. Once I've made a base for it, a video will be made of the engine running.
I've recently acquired an earlier Suffolk Punch 14" from about 1957-8. Hasn't run for a number of years, so am going to rebuild the engine. What type of paint(s) should be used for the main block (cooling fins), cowl and petrol tank please?
I have just restored the same engine, but I think I have fitted the breather wrong as its spitting oil from the dip stick, any idea how it should go at all? Many thanks
I would like to to thank you kindly for a most helpful and engaging series, I thoroughly appreciate your wish to share!!
Many thanks - some really essential information in there if you are doing one of these for the first time.
Excellent thank you very helpful video, thanks for taking the time to make and share it
Fantastic video, most informative online, I am restoring a 75 24a and my valve stems are in contact when closed, so I assume I need to grind the stem.
Thank you for this video series, found it very useful to fix my engine.
Another great job. Very nice looking little engine. Can't wait to hear it run.
the green looks good cant wait to hear her running:)
Nearly finished my rebuild of exact same 98cc engine new piston rings the lot. The compression is so good now it started instantly
Yeah fiddly little things to work on!
Thanks for your comments, glad you find the videos helpful.
I found it impossible to get the exhaust valve clean on my 75G14 and I didn't heat it. Putting them back in was a pain. It looks good

Thanks Charlie.
I'm after a small fuel tank for it at the moment, once that's fitted I will make a video of it running.
I have the same 98G14 engine that has no spark. Is the condenser integrated into the coil assembly?
Many thanks! Just got to find a fuel tank and we'l give her a run for the camera.
Some oil on the valve stem when you fit the valves is a good idea!

If the gap for the valves is more or less than 0.1mm how do you adjust them?
where did you get your gaskets from for this engine?
Some came from ebay and others I made myself. I have seen complete sets for sale somewhere so they are about.
you didn't gap the rings or use a piston slipper.
Strange, try again another day.....this new youtube layout is pissing me off big time!
There wasn't any need on this engine.
I tried watching this video but this horrid new UI forced half the goddamn video off the screen :|
