My son has already decided that I'm going to make him some when I made me some, before I even decided to definitively make it! Looks like I'm at least making a child's pair. It take me so long to make things, or even have time to work on everything, that I have enough wipe to last a few years. I have three or four things that I definitely have to get done before I start something new. These pants will be made eventually. I'm thinking of a Black and white pair, and then a colorful pair. Either the squares or the skulls. Maybe both! I have ideas flowing through my head. I wish my hands were as fast as my ideas. Thanks for this! It's adorable!

Absolutely love, love, love these! You are so awesome! I'm not that good, but so want to try this anyway. Love that you used a soft cotton too! I crocheted 20 years ago, learned at age 9, due to carpal tunnel, neuropathy hadn't until recently for grandson. My adult daughter wasn't aware I even knew how LOL. I used to make her & her brother hats, blankets, slippers... made the cutest yoda hat for grandson. Things just take me much longer now.

Great question! Take the measurements of each square and the measurements that you desire and see how many squares you can align next to each other that wont be too many or too few. You want a number that is somewhere in the middle. You can always add more rows between squares to add extra length if you need it. I show how to do that in the video. Keep that tape measure handy! You will be checking the measurements on a pretty consistent basis. Hope that helps. 😊🧶❤️
YEP! I am wearing black leggings in the photo and when I am modeling the pants. I wanted people to focus on looking at the pants and NOT focus on my legs. Plus, you can have a lot of fun changing the color of your leggings under the skull pants and changing the look! 😊🧶🧡
Usually after, in my experience, but I would suggest that you make up a swatch - or crochet one filet square - then wash that and check how washing affects the end result in terms of dimensions, gauge etc. That way, you make sure that your end result will still end up the right size, once it's washed and dried.

I completely understand being a little nervous if the colors will bleed after washing and if you should wash the yarn first before to get rid of any excess dye. The swatch idea is a great idea so you know what you can expect. All yarn is different and I would do you a dis-service if I generalized all yarn and said it was fine to jump right in. Hi Kriss! No, don't buy both patterns. I included the pattern for the skull square in the pants pattern so everything you would need to make the pants is located there. Great question. This is an intermediate level crochet project. We work challenging color changes and assembly of pieces where you will have to be comfortable eye-balling joins. If you are comfortable with all that then this pattern will be a breeze. If you need to practice a little bit before attempting this project I completely encourage you to do so. I would rather you work up to this project than dive in pre-mature and get frustrated. It is uncanny how closely you look like Hailey Cuoco with this beanie on. Interesting pattern....do you have a method to put like felt or something behind the product? I found the clothing pieces....the wind just slices you.
Awe! Thank you Madchem23! That is a great question! Adding material under the skulls for added warmth and privacy. I think that would be completely do-able. While the pants are inside out I would cut material to fit along the width and length of the skulls. NOT the waistband. 2 sides (front/back) or if you wanted to break down the material even more, 4 pieces (front right/front left/ back right/back left) I would first sew the pieces along the sides and then wiggle the material over the skull pants. If you made 4 sections, sew the middle. Once the pants are wiggled up to the waistband then I would sew the inseam. and lastly sew the inner lining to the bottom of the waistband where the waistband was joined to the skull pants. I personally just threw on a pair of black leggings to wear underneath. I think it could be cool to change the color of the leggings you wore (purple/green/orange/red) to change the look of skull square pants. But that's totally up to the person. 😊🧶🧡
Oh gosh! I bet it could be done. One way is maybe using multi-colored yarn to make the skull. Otherwise, if you want to be super detailed, I would keep it white but then come in with markers or dye's to color control specific spots. 🤗❤️🧶

Nothing is wrong with the metric system. It’s just not how we are taught here in the US. But feel free to use whatever measurement you want to obtain the dimensions you need. Oh! And in the picture I am wearing black leggings under the pants so. That people could focus on the pants and not my bare legs. That is a Great question. I don’t think you could crochet this design filling in the holes and still achieving the shape of the details. What you COULD do though is possibly line the pants with fabric or what I think is really cool, is just wear leggings or tights with the ability to change colors. 😊🧶❤️

Actually no! Not heavy at all surprisingly. But there is enough weight to them that gravity does pull them down a bit when you wear them. They are actually quite comfortable. Not gonna lie. I made 24 squares for the pants that I created in this video. 😊🧶🧡

THE EYES 👀 people!!!? The pants at the end are not the pants that she's showing off. The pants at the end when she says we're done our see-through they have holes there's holes in the eyes and you can see through the material even through the stitches where she joined. Then all the sudden she says she's going to show pictures of it but the pants that she has on has black behind it? Is she wearing them over another pair of pants? Did she line them? Haha, I totally understand the disconnect. Oh I only made one pair of pants. Believe me. That was a lot of work. I am wearing black leggings under the pants because I wanted people to focus on seeing the pants and not my legs. Haha, oh, my brother in law knows exactly how much these pants show underneath. He plans on wearing something under them as well. But I'm going to let that be completely up to him. I love love love though that you can totally play with these pants and wear different colors underneath! Purple, green, red, orange. Any color you wear underneath will make these skull squares POP!! Wearing orange leggings or tights, purple, green. You could have a lot of fun with that. Or even spandex shorts. I worked up a mock of row 1 to fit my fat upper legs and for me it's 12 squares by 17 rows and 2 rounds of half double crochet border. Damn

I am wearing black leggings under the pants because I wanted people to focus on seeing the pants and not my legs. Haha, oh, my brother in law knows exactly how much these pants show underneath. He plans on wearing something under them as well. But I'm going to let that be completely up to him.
I love love love though that you can totally play with these pants and wear different colors underneath! Purple, green, red, orange. Any color you wear underneath will make these skull squares POP!! So much fun! 🤗🤗🤗🧶🧡🧡

Haha great observation! I am wearing leggings underneath. Personally didn't want to show so much skin but honestly having the squares open like this creates so much room for fun to play. Wearing orange leggings or tights, purple, green. You could have a lot of fun with that. Or even spandex shorts. But I wanted everyone to see the actual pants and not focus so much on 'ME' wearing them. 😉🧶🧡
My granddaughter hinted... okay, begged... for these pants for months! I surprised her with them yesterday and she screamed!! They are so cute on her!
