Well.....this is how it went down. We were on tour with Obscura, Gorod and Exivious. During the show in Oslo early on in the tour the lights were very low on the stage. Tymon from Exivious warned me about this and I told him it wouldn't matter as I hardly ever look at the guitar anyway. This became a bit of a tour joke. 24 shows later: last show of the tour, everybody was pulling tour-pranks and Tymon decided to put me on the spot and made an announcement to the crowd. I couldn't refuse.
Lol fucking nice dude. I have tried doing this for a while now. I've got it down pretty well. Just peek on certain solo transitions. Its crazy as hell playing SOP songs like this lol. I can do my bands stuff too though. It's not so crazy if its your own riffs lol.
Dude, wow, I just realized this comment is Danny, the guy playing this. Awesome. I am, to say the least, blown the frick away by this and every song sop performs. One thing I'd like to ask if you get this comment is how in the utter living hades did you guys write and orchestrate your songs? I had a metal band a while back and we struggled writing and teaching each other our pathetic songs. There was a lot of dit, dit, ditty, dit, dert, chigga, chigga, dert going back and forth between us during practice. Do you guys do the same?
The great thing about this is that it isn't just a cool party trick, like playing guitar with your teeth, for example. This actually demonstrates the amount of muscle memory that goes into this and how well he learned these guitar parts and the detication to practice he has. SOP is hard even when looking (as a tech-death guitarist even I can't play it yet), but knowing how to play it even blindfolded is not just a whole new level, but solid proof to the skillset and precision of a given musician.
@@diabeticmonkey Yep! And sometimes it takes failing many many times. The key is never giving up. Sounds cheesy and trite but that’s exactly what the most talented people did.
Tunker was so fucking awesome on this tour...at the time I saw them he had his ankle sprained, so he sat on a chair playing guitar, going crazy and delivering a hell of show on his own. Now, imagine that together with the rest of these sick dudes. Best concert I have ever been to!
I see this and think, god it would be nice to not have to look at my left hand even for really simple fretting.. I'm not sure what the psychology of having to look at your hand is, maybe I don't trust myself or my playing

Next challenge: With your toes.
You are a god
You are a legend sir. SoP is still the king of Tech Death!
Cold as ice lol. Well done though man.
mighty impressive sir
Well, if it's any consolation: I was nervous as hell when they made me do it. It's not like you sit down and practice doing this.
Retroactively funny because all SOP fans practice like this now. Thanks for giving me a reason to keep my fingers working.

Yeah honestly this is absolutely legendary. Can’t even fathom how much time he’d put in practicing.
As if being able to even conceive and record this kind of music wasn’t already a giant flex

@@heyimgoingtoplaysomegames Exactly. Hard work pays off
yet still nobody has done it 11 years later. And this guy did it with only having a month to learn the entire set.

When you have played long enough, it doesn't really make any difference do you see the fret board or not.
Long enough? He is the tour guitarist who just learned this songs. thats the point :)
A blindfolded man shredding spawn of possession songs......live, might as well burn my guitars and go to medical school
This guy is so fuckin sick! Danny Tunker is so fuckin sick but I adore him anyway :P
