You also can fish for treasures. You also can go mining for a LOT of treasures, and upgrading your working tools. You can find collected jewels for making a wish come true. You can raise money for a whole new house in the town. You can learn about 100 or more cooking recipes... So many aspects you didn't even started to talk about >_>
I agree. There are many ways to play this game. I chose fishing, raising chicken, and finding plants to sell. I find that the actual farming part takes a while, and it can be pricy. The way I did it worked just fine. I married Popuri and she will be pregnant soon. GREAT REVIEW!
Nooo. It's made by Marvelous, not Natsume. Natsume just used translate and publish it for the English versions of the games. XSeed does that now for the real Harvest Moon games while Natsume now make their own "Harvest Moon" games using the name because they have the rights to that title.
***** I mean the ones that are now being called Story of Seasons that are made by the creators of the previous Harvest Moon games. Harvest Moon: A New Beginning was the last actual Harvest Moon game to be called "Harvest Moon."
I think this is one of the best Harvest Moon games to date. The one thing that is a little damaging, though, is the late game. Basically, you don't have anything new happening within four game years except racking up the cash and buying that vacation home. But I think that this is a problem most games of its genre and playstyle have, right now. What happens when you've basically accomplished everything, and yet the time continues to pass? In my opinion, an online version of this game not only can be widely accessible, but lends itself to new ideas and continuous, organic expansion. Maybe I should learn about game development...
I know it seems kinda awkward, but I really wish they would port this game. Other harvest moon games are quite good, but nothing has gotten close to this (except for maybe the JP version of DS and sunshine isles). Despite me wanting a port and maybe closure to old characters I would miss the graphics and music.
yeah but friends of mineral town is just back to nature on the gba. which is fine with me, because i think back to nature is still the best harvest moon game.
You are good at talking, but I think you missed out a bunch of really important things about this game. You talked about the girls, then the farm, then the music, but what about the other stuff? My favourite part of a Harvest Moon game is the town with all the villagers, who have their own lives and cutscenes. You can befriend them and get to know them, and you get rewarded for doing so. The shops are basic but that's all they need to be, and the town is easy to navigate around. The Festivals too, how could you forget those? I don't think they are quite as good in this game as they were in Back To Nature (the ps1 version of this game) but they are still pretty damn good. You always find yourself looking forward to the next festival, and wondering what it's going to be, and they are never too far away. Also, the cooking? The cooking in this game is actually really fun and there are tons of recipes you can get. You purchase the utensils from a TV shopping channel, and you can either follow recipes given to you by your friends in the town, or just try cooking random ingredients and see what works. The mining is very, very simple, which makes upgrading your tools easy. I don't have a lot to say about the mining. I do however have a lot to say about your rivals (seriously, you forgot to mention the rivals?) There are 5 rival characters who will try and win the hearts of the girls in town, but unless you befriend them, they probably won't get in your way aside from a few cutscenes. If you become friends, you can offer them dating advice, and they might even end up getting married. The lives of the villagers change as the game goes on, and you learn a lot about them all. There is way more, but too much to put in a comment, this game is jam packed full of stuff. Not just "girls, the farm, music."
Yes you can, but you have to do A LOT and I mean A LOT of things for her. Also when you marry the Harvest Goddess, she won't stay at home with you after marriage. She will just go back to her spring.
I love this game, but I'd have rated it only a LITTLE lower because of the translation errors in the version I've played: More Friends of Mineral Town... just a few examples: "How's your hubby? Tell her hi for me!" (In MFoMT you're a girl, so... lol.) Cliff, Gray, Zack, and Rick all say Japanese stuff in some point of the game. Carter will talk in German if you talk to him during the Winery Job event thingy :3 Cliff won't talk in Japanese in Friends of Mineral Town, though... so thats 3?
You need to play it. It's not like Farmville or anything. There's so much more to do than just farming, you have chores in the morning, but for the rest of the day you do fun cutscenes, woo you of the potential spouse, (or spouses if you want to be a real player), and get to know the characters who all have their own stories and backgrounds. I strongly recommend Harvest Moon Back To Nature. It is my favourite game in the world, ever, and it's so addictive and has so much content for a PS1 game it's unreal. The festivals in it are so fun too, there's a chicken battling festival, one where you bring food and cook it into a giant pot (bring something stupid and you can make the villagers ill) and there's a festival where you join a team and throw tomatos at each other. It's a really, really fun game.
Meh, I'll pass. Was thinking about getting it on the WiiU VC, but I already own Back to Nature, and this looks almost identical with the exception of some different characters.
+Joe Blow This is in my opinion one of the best games ever. It is basically a port for Back to Nature, but it adds so much. Although More Friends of Mineral Town is slightly better.
I really want to buy this game but I can't find it anywhere! Does anyone know where I can buy it online where the price isn't too high? And also I wanted the girl version (more friends of mineral town)
i know this is too late but. you can get it free . download gba emulator on your android then download the game rom in emuparadise. saved me a couple of moola
limitbreak32 They probably are being sarcastic. Either that or they have never played a GBA game before. I only have two GBA games that I play on the DS system. I wish that this game was one of them! Oh well, have to wait for story of seasons trio of towns to come around on the 28th, ugh, why is it around two weeks away!
You also can fish for treasures.

I would love for them to update the graphics and release a modern version of FoMT for 3DS. That'd sell!
This is already a remake though, I don't think they would remake it again. The graphics in this one I quite enjoy
Just released it on the wii u.
stardew vally
on psp there's harvest moon boy and girl is basically the same but better graphics
Bill Albertson or for the nintendo switch

The animals looks so cute, especially the dog 😍

Great review. I don't see anything fun about a farming simulator tho.
Well, you haven't played it then!

THE FRAME RATES!!!!!
For what it's worth, the game doesn't have that bad of a frame rate. It's this dude's capture method or whatever.
