Captain America: Civil War is a 2016 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger and 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and the thirteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a screenplay by the writing team of Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers / Captain America, alongside an ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Emily VanCamp, Tom Holland, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Daniel Brühl. In Captain America: Civil War, disagreement over international oversight of the Avengers fractures them into opposing factions-one led by Steve Rogers and the other by Tony Stark.

On one hand, it’s impressive how well Tony was able to take on two bio and cybernetically enhanced super soldiers. On the other hand, it’s remarkable how well two soldiers with light weapons were able to disable an armored flying tank with a targeting system that has its own AI personality.

I love the detail that Iron Man is only trying to hit bucky there. Like if you really look at it you see he keeps trying to hit him even when Iron Man is knocked down to one knee. And all he wants to do to Cap is blast him away so he can get at bucky.
This was actually second unit directed by Chad Stahelski, who directs John Wick.

Bruh the moment Tony said those words I was like "yep, can't argue with that." Like Howard was one thing, but Tony loved his mother whole heartedly and she loved him without question. Their relationship wasn't rocky like Howard's was with Tony.
@@Renagade2332 yeah but Tony I felt could have tried to make a better relationship with his father because he died he was still hurt that he never got that chance, Tony know knows his dad was always proud of him knowing he never fully got to get that chance also broke and the fact the hero his father looked up to lied and kept it from him, even Tony's hero and friend tho he never admit it lied to his face about it and still tried to lie about it when he asked and tried to calm down to give him a chance to tell the truth the fact he lied and then admit that he did I'd snap to.
Usually he has lots of snarky remarks when fighting ,but his silence in this battle is really chilling
great observation
Same attitude he had when he fought Thanos in Infinity War😊
Can we just talk about the fact that Tony at 0:36 didn't hesitate to fire a tank missile point-blank at Bucky's face. I just love this detail it really shows Tony's anger and lust for killing Bucky in the moment.
Can we also talk about bucky's face at 0:37
@@louisekerderanec638 yeah he looks like the sinister
Plus this! This is even more *extra* awesome because there was an earlier scene where Tony and Bucky were fighting hand to hand and Tony with his metal glove blocks Bucky from shooting him in the face with a handgun. Bucky at that moment *didn't hesitate* as well to shoot Tony in the face, and as Tony blocks his shot you could see his *shocked* reaction like, "You were really gonna shoot me in the face?!"
So not only does this rocket scene show Tony's anger towards Bucky, but it also makes actual sense because the motivation is fully there! Not only did Bucky kill his parents but also he did not hesitate to shoot Tony in the face earlier! And THAT is why Tony wouldn't hesitate to shoot him either with a rocket. There's no reason not to. It's multi-layered motivation and I love that incredible attention to detail.
@@nikkoXmercado he was been controlled, he wouldn’t hesitate to do anything because he had no option
@@reddeath8140 The focus was on Tony's reaction and what he was thinking. Of course Bucky didn't hesitate; I know he was controlled. But the point is Tony couldn't believe at the moment that Bucky straight up tried to shoot his face, which gave clear motivation to Tony, in the later part of the film, to not hesitate to shoot Bucky as well.
"he killed my mom"
I... cant fault Tony's anger. I am not that big of a man to let that slide either.
Same, like. If I found my mum's killer and he was on my side after everything I would forfeit everything just to shred him

@@ybyby3rdday One life for Two lives? I am surprised he didn’t try to kill Steve, because he very well could.
@R Murphy You good pal, do not know how human emotions work
You can’t blame Tony for how he reacted. Imagine finding out the person who murdered your parents is standing next to you, and your best friend knew and kept it a secret from you. It was too much for him to take, so he snapped and became consumed by rage. He doesn’t even care about Cap at first, he just either ignores him or gets him out of the way because he’s focused on killing Bucky
Rhodey is his best friend and Cap didn’t know it was Bucky
Yes he did. He admitted to Tony at the end of the movie that he knew it was Bucky, but he thought by keeping it secret he was protecting Tony. And Cap is probably Tony’s closest friend besides Rhodes.
@@ares_bluesteel Then why did he say he didn’t know it was him right before the fight started. He never says I should’ve told you it was Bucky all he says is “should’ve told you about your parents”, which could mean that Hydra had them killed.
@@ares_bluesteel I also think Happy beats Steve in the friends ranking as well
It's almost as if people act mostly on emotion and not logic so for a situation like this, Tony isn't even thinking straight. It's like these superheroes are actually flawed individuals. You know, way too few people acknowledge this Powerful line, because it flies by so quickly and all what is Happening around it. But i think it is the most heartbreaking one. Bucky probably wanted to apologize to tony at some point, but all of the circumstances always prevented it. And then it is forced upon him by Zemo and bucky could not even say anything, even if he wanted to.
I think, if he was rly resentful and apologetic he shouldn't have fought back. It would be less infuriating then.

Tony chasing Bucky with a malfunctioning jet, with sheer focus on his face and absolute killing intent is terrifying.
I know it wasn't Bucky's fault but I will never blame Tony for acting on this the way he did.
I will. When he's on a team with black widow who has done the exact same as Bucky had done while in full control of her mind and he doesn't bat an eye. And he himself is hardly without blood on his hands after decades of selling weapons and building Ultron. But knowing Bucky was under mind control and not in control of his actions. And is trying to be good and atone for what he did after being framed by zemo. His reaction is emotional and childish. And it's not fair to Bucky

I love at 3:15 you can see Iron Man is only trying to hit bucky. Like when he gets up off the ground he's already loading up a biggg punch and then through that whole sequence he just keeps trying to hit him just out of pure rage even when he's knocked down to one knee he's trying to jab up at him. Such an amazing fight yet so heartbreaking. No one's being mind controlled, black mailed, or forced in any sort of way to fight each other here. Just 2 former friends and team mates legit brutalizing each other over their choices and pasts. Steve chose to protect Bucky not just because of the fact that he was mind controlled to be the Winter Soldier, but because Bucky was the very last attachment to Cap's past that he felt he would never be able to get back and we've seen Steve's inability to let go of the past and move forward. Tony at this point was still reeling in from his break with Pepper as well as his own guilt from creating Ultron and all of the lives lost because of his choice to make the A.I. Throw that upon Tony learning that Steve knew that Bucky had killed Tony's parents and kept it from him along with the Avengers Civil War and we can see how stressed and betrayed Tony feels after so much happens to him in this film. Both are now fighting with no hesitation in a fight that is so hard to watch with us the audience knowing and empathizing with both men in their choices and knowing that although someone has to be defeated in this fight in the end there isn't going to be any winners.
This was foreshadowed way back from the first Avengers movie

@@bruhmoment6014 depending on location. Inside a closed area Steve would win but outside tony wins because of air advantage
3:15 my favourite moment, nice fight dynamic
This is one of the most beautiful and intense moments in all the mcu films
I love how steve and bucky gave themselves the shield
Steve: this isnt gonna change what happened
Tony: i dont care, he killed my mom
They really did my boy Stark dirty like that
For everyone saying Tony's armor in Civil War is underpowered, just count how many punches it took from Cap and Bucky. Even with so much damage it still managed to tank 3 hits and 2 shield hits to the helmet by a super soldier
Maybe people meant underpowered, relatively-speaking to his other suits, like Mark 3 that can walk away after being shot off by a tank in the air
We all forgot that he did not have time to repair it after the airport fight right
@@jackofalltraids2690 oh my god ur right
@@jackofalltraids2690 cap also fought in the airport scene lol
@@alexamaya3208 but he clearly did not need major repairs to his shield or anything else
3:56 me fighting my chemistry teacher
3:56 is one of the most iconic and best scenes of this movie and the fact that thay recreated this from the comics too from Civil war #7 is just masterpiece
What always broke my heart about this part was the whole time Tony was trying to restrain Steve and keep him away. E didn’t want to hurt him at first. The only blows he sent his way were ones he knew could take
Love how Tony was ready to blast a Tank missile right in Buck's face
😂buck almost took ironman out ..thats how strong and fearless winter soldier is
That end shot gives me the chills everytime
When I saw Bucky’s arm get blasted off, I laughed and said: “What did you think was gonna happen?”
Everyone knows that Iron man can fire beams from the chest so I guess it wouldn’t be so surprising
I love how Tony didn't include his dad in this line: "He killed my mom" showing how angry he was as a child he has no remorse for his father, Howard. Gives me chills and saddens me at the same time.
I respect Cap, but he was such a hypocrite in this movie.
No he wasn’t.
How was he a hypocrite
@@christianbanda8348 Maybe when Cap got mad in AoU that people were keeping secrets from him, when he himself is also keeping a big secret from Tony
No, he just saves bucky
Totally.
2:45 *cling clang*
3:15 I swear Jujutsu Kaisen took a bite out of this shot with Yuji and Nanami vs Mahito
This man Tony was literally about to shoot a missile point blank range at Bucky’s head 😂
0:30 Tony should have given Thor some pointers
One thing I noticed is how wreckless and chaotic Tony gets when he's hellbent on going after someone. He's not as accurate or focused when playing the bad guy sort of. That's what I liked about this fight.
Cap: I could do this all day...
Tony: D I S C O M B O B U L A T E
I am told Thanos is intimidated by Stark more than any foe his. Being the genius he is he know Tony's mind is a great threat.
Not really intimidated, but he respects and views Tony as a threat to him and his plans
A lot was in Tony's mind during this entire movie.. Not only was he feeling the anger watching his parents getting killed right then and there but he still also has anxiety issues about Thanos let's not forget about that. This is the reason why Tony didn't want the Avengers to break up... A lot of people also misunderstand this match and called Ironman weak for losing to two super soldiers when they fail to realize that Tony wasn't trying to fight smart. He know he could have just fly and throw missiles but he chose to do hand to hand because he just wanted to kill bucky like that (I guess pretty much the way bucky killed his parents, through fists). And obviously Tony is getting outskilled by cap and bucky.... This whole fight and music were just beautiful.
This still is one of the best MCU fights we got. The intensity is on another level.
Love the attention to details in these superhero fights - especially when the Captain's shield is flying in to disable/kill - Iron Man turns to deflect it back ! Iron Man doesn't catch it like Winter Soldier does with great precision!
If Ironman’s suit was black in this, omg. It would have been the scariest scene to watch.
I love Henry Jackman’s score during this scene!
This fight by far, is the most epic one I've ever seen in Marvel.
I think my favorite part about this fight is how it could’ve so easily gone the other way. Tony was still piecing them up even after one foot and hand’s repulsers were damaged. Not to mention all the other damage he had taken prior to the iconic 2v1 scene.
I wanna take the time to appreciate that counter Bucky hit Tony with before getting his arm blown off. Easily one of the best fighters in the MCU.
