- Michael Kitchen and Diana Hardcastle are two competitive academics who despise each other but eventually fall in love. Love and competition flourish throughout their marriage.
This is a Jeffrey Archer story from his book "A Quiver Full of Arrows"
I would love to get this Movie. I Love Michael Kitchen, I have Only seen him In Foyles War, Which I love. I would like to see more movies with him in them.xoxo
Melbourne, Australia.
I've never found a commercial DVD of it. This was transferred from a VHS that we had at home when it was first shown on TV in the 80's.
Glad you enjoyed it. It was a wonderful experience having all these actors in the house.
Check out an Inspector Morse episode "Death of the Self" and the wonderful "Caught on a Train"

Sadly the first few minutes are missing
@@deborahrobertson8606 thanks for that...👍🏼
I've seen several, Mrs. Dalloway is one, can't remember others, but Miss Google should help you. He also made some terribly weird play for BBC Afternoon Play. I liked him in Foyle's War, which I think made him, but not much in anything else.
look up on here Dandelion Dead.
The word elegant was invented for Michael Kitchen ❤
Agreed...👌🏼
Lovely to see the young Michael Kitchen
Funny how very blond, 80s TV presenter in the UK tried to look like Diana. Thanks for the upload. Love Michael Kitchen.
Yes, a rather generic look in those days. Michael Kitchen was just like that in real life... ...urbane, understated and charming.
Love love love Michael Kitchen. Setting everything aside to watch this.
Thank u!
Thank you so much for posting this movie, was really wonderful
How wonderful it must have been to live in England. How sad England is now.
This part of England hasn't changed thankfully.
When England was England
It was, except for the bldy cold winters, autumns and springs...and sometimes summers.
Gotta love Michael Kitchen!
It was nice to meet him. Such an interesting chap.
cannot believe my luck. I have been searching for this film for years. Thank you so much....
A lot of it was filmed in our family home in Norwich during April, May and June 1984.
Same here!!
@@mariarohmer2374 did you see it on TV originally?
Norwich and Cambridge, two of East Anglia’s loveliest cities. 😊
For those of us who didn’t become acquainted with Michael Kitchen until ‘Foyle’s War’ -oh we noticed that guy who was Robert Redford’s friend in Out of Africa. But…. - it is fun catching up on his storied career. He plays all parts equally well but somehow the villain just doesn’t suit what we think of who Michael Kitchen is.
Ох, какой же Майкл Китчен классный....
Да вообще бомба)
dam good michel like him in ths
Michael Kitchen got better looking as he aged!
This is an odd little story. Michael Kitchen isn’t given near enough opportunity to show his charm and romantic side, which is enchanting and thoroughly seductive. His character is so reserved and uptight that it’s a wonder any woman would have fallen for him, but maybe Cambridge dons are like that. I suppose there’s someone for everyone. Her character wasn’t terribly winning either.
Students aged in their mid 30’s…😂😂( yes I know there are such things as “mature students “ but these portrayals are meant to be “yoofs”!🤣🤣🙈)
Too bad it's out of focus..Don'y know if I can take it...
