- The dam is currently working and the lake has fill back up. 10/13/2021.
Price Lake on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Watauga County North Carolina. After recent flash flooding and torrential rain Price Lake is losing all it's water. The flood gate is broken on the spillway and has caused the lake to lose all it's water. The damage is being accessed. Today I explored the edges of the new lake bottom collecting trash and fishing line. We need to get the local river keeper or a clean up group to safely clean up the lake during it's down turn.
I appreciate people like yourself who also pick up after this who litter. I live by a damn in Michigan and I can't tell you how many injured ducks I've seen in my lifetime bc of fishing line.
Thank you . If we all do our part the world would be a better place. Love and respect nature.
great vid grahm! really interesting. so glad to have met you at the rock show and that i'm your B'ville neighbor.
Thank you I was was great getting to know you.
Thanks for what you are doing there - it’s important work
They are closing the parkway down tomorrow for 5 hours to fix the problem. It should be accomplished and fix the gate and fill back up. So all that trash we got out was a great thing.
I never heard anything about this
It took about a month to fix.
Did the fish survive?
In my opinion it was a total loss it still hasn't been completely corrected yet and there was too long of period of warm water. It is a hatchery supported stocked by the state trout lake so they will replenish it when it gets fixed.
9929 Great question.

We need to get up. I would just enjoy seeing the locality first hand. With total respect. What a treasure to be sitting on. Thanks for the message. Let me know if you ever want to get into the ground.
Graham- Thanks for the clean up you did while at the area. We need more folks like you that care about our country. I clean up some litter in my neighborhood in springtime. Have a blessed day. 🙂
This lake is healthy and thriving again. The small disaster made for a better ecosystem in the end.
