"He will always say Jackpot."
"I have no recollection."
Vergil's time as Nero Angero erased that from his memory.
@@FrostshadowStudios0310 nelo angelo* and how would you know this?
@@FrostshadowStudios0310 the way he says it you can tell he does but is acting like he doesn't
@@FrostshadowStudios0310 that wouldn’t be one of the things he erased, seeing as he didn’t say “jackpot” a single time as Nelo Angelo. Besides, the “world of V” move shows that he still summons familiars, which are his memories as Nelo Angelo.
@@jeremiahbriney4899 I'm going based on Japanese name. And I am saying according to what I saw in DMC 1.
For those who are struggling, pay attention to the slight flash Yamato does as Vergil is done sheathing it, that's your cue to let go of the Δ/Υ button.
Thanks but I just found that out today lol
yeah i played vergil trying to get his judgment nut to go off more than once but didnt know when to release, then i notice the flash so i released when the flash occured and then he started to go off more than once
it works better for me to simply memorize the timings by heart
Holy shit i never once saw Yamato appear
This is a problem when the camera is too wonk to actually see Vergill welll enoough
Hearing that space distortion from Judgment Cut three times in a row is so enjoyable.

Vergil’s officially released on all platforms! Let’s rejoice!
Yo he released early!? LET'S GET MOTIVATED
@@AntonioRedgrave I’m in asia but they didn’t release it exactly at 12am. Had to wake up at 8am and thankfully he’s available already.
Is it on Xbox one no I'm crying cuz I'm poor
@@fey751 the 5 dollar vergil DLC should be available everywhere now
Yorokobe shounen
If you go into SDT, summon the doppleganger and then do this...it trivializes pretty much the entire game.
Spam your way through tough spots on DMD with it.
And also how you optimize speedruns ;)
I dont know maybe just me, but I do some database coding and found that each time the player picks Vergil the game automatically switch to a difficulty called "Foolishness" I can't find the official change but it is like "Human" but 50% easier, lesser and mid demon die on 1-2 hits, Bossess hit by Judgement Cut loses their pride and die of shame, and a taunt alone make you reach SSS style instantly
@@AntonioRedgravethis was the best vid tutorial for this.
Mastered in 3 minutes thx to u
You can also do perfect judgement cut right at the end of World of V when he sheates the sword. Really cool as a finisher.
For Vergil's Combo B, you don't have to switch to Yamato too pull off a Judgment Cut. All you have to do is hold down triangle/Y while Vergil does a spin and release it after he finishes the animation.
I'm gonna lose my mind attempting this...
This is easy compare to dmc4
@@noel0p Pulling off the first JFJC is easy, but the other three? Maaaaan....
I just got it on pc and its just impossible to do three jc when using a mouse
You got this dude! Just keep at it and you'll eventually get it
Tell me about it. What is actually the sound cue for hitting them perfectly? Does the slashing sound have to finish? Because there is like a slashing and a "void"(lol) sound. Don't really know what to call it but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
I'm sure someone's said it already, but the end of the force edge combo if you hold attack it automatically switches the weapon to yamato without needing to manually switch weapons
The icon for Force Edge is Force edge and Yamato, which makes perfect sense considering his clean cut combo. Where he gets a little bit woohoo party time running around slashing with both swords like an asshole
@@Detective_Bonghits Agni + Rudra Style
Everyday i learn something New about this game
There is a visual cue I picked up that helps me with the timing. When he puts his sword back in the sheath, there's this subtle burst of blue particles that appears. Time it with that.
That absolutely helps! Plus it just looks cool lol
Do I hold it when that happens or press it because it isn't specified whether you hold it when it flashes to do multiple or hold it
@@dylanbroome7915 that’s when you release
To for you when doing these tutorials. You should record them while in the Void so you can have the controller inputs on the screen while you demonstrate. Makes learning timing much easier.
EDIT: Also, at the end of Combo B, you can do the Judgment cut without switching to Yamato, it'll switch for you automatically
Agreed.
Yep agreed
Excellent tutorial! You made it easy to understand and now I can't wait to try it myself. Thanks brotha!
No problem! I'm glad I was able to help! Now get out there and kill some demons! 😈
The absolute joy I feel when he says ‘Jackpot’ after 3 Judgement Cuts ✨.
I can only do 2 in a row consistently, this is really difficult, its incredible how you can do this on turbo
It's just about conditioning and consistency with practice. You'll get to 3 and 4 I'm sure!
@@AntonioRedgrave Thank you for the encouragement!
Thanks for the tip dude playing as Vergil in DMC5 is AMAZING
Its like a drug when I land perfect repeat judgement cuts I feel like Im taking a gigantic hit of crack.
No problem! He's so much fun and JCuts are so satisfying to pull off consecutively, especially when it melts bosses ;)
I finally understand how to do this you explained it so much better in you’re tutorial then others thank you
I've found my own personal favorite sequence to end a combo that can be performed on any near ground or grounded Round Trip setup, or alternatively, a Spiral Blades.
- Throw out both Void Slash and set up Heavy Rain Blades on the same back to forward motion. (It helps my controls have melee on Triangle and "shoot" on L1.)
- Spiral cut through the enemy while they chill in the Void Slash and release the Heavy Rain Blade, follow it with a 3x Perfect Judgement Cut.
It even ends with Vergil saying "Jackpot" and it looks sick.
Pretty much bruised up my thumb doing this for 1.344.657 times with only succeeding doing the second JC
I can do three, but not frequently. I battle with the timing for the third one
i accidentally did judgement cut 3 times on the queen on sos prologue and i was like what the fuck
4 times you are worthless
I did 4 in bloody palace but then I couldn't anymore
You can actually feel the rhythm, don't use your eye !! After you master the Judgement Cut, basically you can kick every Boss ass easily.
Thank you kind sir
Boss learn the hard way when player pull up SDT+Doppelganger and spams JC
Ayy man, noice video. Maybe you can do tutorial like these in the void? So we can see the inputs looking at the controller too.
I will next time for sure!
Was gonna ask the same thing! This was a good start. Thanks.
ok hearing half of the video already makes me give up and admit that i am bad
Just started dmc5 for the first time three days ago. Already beat it, and im going for DMD dif. Maxed out vergil cause why not. Anyways, I'm able to do 2 to 3 judgment cuts and sometimes I can't, so I actually needed a video to help out. Thanks
Release the button when you see the judgement cut about to close with a black bubble/portal in the middle of it
For anyone who came from DMC 4 and just trying out 5, try doing the same technique in 4 where you trick cancell JC. Even if it was unnecessary, it greatly helped me to learn the timing even if not looking at the flash. You'll feel the groove of the timing easier. (at least for me)
I can only do this JJC two times with one regular one after the second one but im getting there with your advice! Thank you for this video.
Bruh I miss the 3 judgement cuts from DMC3 like seriously the perfect could of been if you wanna do 4 plus.
Thank you for the tips, gonna have to train hard to get it right
No problem! Good luck and train to get motivated!
I am already motivated 👍
I can't do it on the ground but midair was pretty easy
Bro bro because of im able to do two to three in the air and two on the ground thank you so much for this!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Glad I could help!
Thank you.
Edit: i mean it, i was thinking you just had to tap it in the right time like i did in 3, so thanks for the explanation, sweet sparda, how i missed doing multiple cuts.
Glad I could help! It can be tricky especially since the game doesn't tell you lol
@@AntonioRedgrave And personally, i prefer doing the judgment cuts on the ground, so far i've been able to time them with and without devil trigger, but i find it hard to grasp the timing in the air for some reason.
I also pay attention to the movement of Vergil's arm during the cut, and so far it's been working wonders, considering the times i miss the timing are decreasing.
Whoooo lets go!! Good stuff sir

@@IMGNFUN I learned as well how to do one just cut but doing two only happened twice
Thanks for the video was able to do judgement cut 4 times in a row after understanding the release mechanics it took me 2 days get the hang of it
I’ve only done it accidentally 😭 I keep trying but I can’t get it
I managed to get it right sometimes. Only after a few failed attempts I got Vergil to say "Jack...pot.".
Best tip that worked for me, release the triangle or y and re-press/hold the button and release when you see the previous judgement cut about to end( when you see the black portal)
Jxa66's tip is a really good one, especially if you're not on turbo that's what i noticed, especially with the sound cue
@@jxalmada66 THANK YOOOUU I can do this move with ease now
From my experience, you don't have to switch to Yamato to Just Cut during the Mirage Edge Combo B - you just have to release it when he sheathes it and it automatically switches
I can pull it off blindfolded in DMC4, I need guidance for DMC5 lol
ong bro that’s really how it be i was going crazy on 4
This was every easy to follow thank for sharing your knowledge
This is just what i was looking for, I think i understand its kind of like DmC Vergil's perfect judgment cut but doing the action multiple times
More in line with 4SE Vergil, mainly because DmC Vergil stops to go into his little stance but with 4SE you have to time it out with each move
Video starts at 3:20
You're a god man, I feel like I have potatoes for hands watching you. Looks like I'll be practicing for a while.
You got this dude! It just takes practice but you'll get it
I like DMC3 Multi-Cut (my slang term for "consecutive Judgement Cut") more.
Yeah like high key they didn't need to increase the skill gap for that
@@kingswarthy idk I think it's kind of tight. But that's probably because I used to play fighting games a lot which have the exact opposite problem that plagues the whole genre for me right now, they are too easy when they used to be hard AF. So it's nice to see a game not on that bullshit, especially in another genre where I also like fucking dudes up with sick infinite combos.
I haven't done those in so long. I like the input for this more i think. It's also just so grossly overpowered with SDT and Doppleganger.
Simple to use, not unnecessarily hard for the sake of being hard and it has a very cool effect. My fav JC too.
I just learn this and it definitely helps a lot when playing DMD. Personally, its way easier to do this while airborne than being on the ground.
The air version has a more lenient timing but is obviously slower. However it's better for keeping away from enemies so it's arguably the better version unless you're trying to speed run
It was called perfect cut when the British remake first introduced it, even the dopplegamger did it as well which in turn made him near broken
You know what's broken, that move where he punches the ground with the gauntlet. He's invincible, even Cerberus' invincibility might be negated, and it tosses aside the heaviest of enemies.
@@LegendaryDarkKnight602
Hell on earth destroys boss health man Im telling you lol
@@LegendaryDarkKnight602 I don't think he still has Armor if you do it with Motivation Bar 2+ and full SDT Bar and since he stands still for way too long I'm not quite sure what its useful for?
I know a quick SDT enter and JCE destroys Furies or just about anything that is annoying which is amazing and the Stinger can easily be inputted as a part of combos out of SDT and keeps you mobile, gives you a shell of blades to protect you, and does quite a bit of damage. Unless the Beowulf one can do more damage then a JCE in SDT then I don't really see a point in using it since they are pretty much identical in execution and purpose.
I accidentally did that once against the 5th boss of the game where i judgment cut them 3/4 times and i wouldnt shut up about it for an hour
1:06
skips the 1st intro
After 20 minutes I can do all of them in the air but 2 on the ground lol it’s not so bad, I’ll get it eventually 🤙🏾
You got this! Just keep practicing 😄
I got the air one down but I can't get the ground one down for the life of me
Same here
haha same, I learned using jump button to get the timing right, now it's impossible to learn the ground one
I've seen it done constantly by other players and accidentally did a double cut a minute ago, so I wanted to see how to do it more than that.
Man it's really hard to time the release of melee button after JC has been performed
It can be kinda tricky at first but once you get use to it it comes out pretty consistently. I think I'm subconsciously using audio cues for my timings but when I really need to practice something I go to mission 2 or the void and get super close to look at it
A good jumping point, use that move where he slices the air and faces you afterwards. Back, forward, and triangle if you own a PS.
@@LegendaryDarkKnight602 i finally got the hang of it. The air jc is much easier to perform than on the ground
A common misconception is that the timed Judgement Cut originated from Devil may Cry 4, that is false.
The Timed Judgement Cut came from DmC Devil May Cry.
Like you said, Devil May Cry 3 was a charge move.
DMC4 had a timed just cut but it couldn't be chained, only once iirc
@@OtepRalloma But, DMC 4 has many groundbreaking mechanics in the series, eg. the Inertia. Vergil can use the Inertia to make as like a real chain JC
@@zaqu837 Ooh I see, is there a tutorial for that (since I only learned chain cuts for dmc5)
@@OtepRalloma search for Vergil Tricks Cancel and Sequential Judgement Cuts by GarudaKK the video is about 7 years ago
I'm here because I managed to get two Judgement Cuts two separate times by pure accident.
I guess i‘ll keep misjudging the timing for at least 5 more ingame hours before i‘ll get the hang of it lmao
Thx for the video 🙏🏼
Edit: I figured it out.
Just start paying attention to individual animation frames and releasing it at diferent frames until you figure out the timing. Thats just a method I use when learning fighting game combos I just experiment with my timing based in animation frames. I figured out how to do repeat judgement cuts pretty quickly the timing isnt that tough or strict compared to say crazy combos in games like King of Fighters.
@@walmartian422 Well, i‘ll can do a perfect Judgement Cut after a normal one, but i can‘t chain perfect ones yet. Thanks for the advice!
There is another cut. The Final Judgement Nuts.
The timing on the 3rd one is impossible for me. I've tried it as his sword lights up, after, right before, nothing hits the third one. I wish it was just pressing instead of holding and releasing for the consecutive ones idk why they made it so hard.
Yeah its pretty hard for me too. I think how they handled it in dmc 3 was better because it just feels and flows better in combat if you ask me. Otherwise I only played vergil for 3 hours last night, so atleast they is a good learning curve for the judgement cut😅
@@Hafenadler Yeah I mean I've managed to hit it a few times but it's like, the timing if you start with an imperfect cut and do the second one is fair, the third one feels like it's completely random and I can't figure it out.
The timing on the third one is the same as the others. It just takes practice and consistency 🙂 you got this!
@@AntonioRedgrave I appreciate it, but it seems like when I do the second one after an imperfect, the timing is perfect, it seems like it gives you more time, but the 3rd and 4th seem to have weird timing where they're either faster than I'm going or slower I'm not entirely sure
@@NekoLilyK I think I know what you're talking about. The imperfect one is a tad slower than the perfect ones. I've noticed when I'm on the ground doing 4 in a row is a struggle for me because of the timing difference but I've done it more often in the air so I got it down. If you're struggling to do it on the ground I'd try doing it in the air first. Tbh on the ground it's faster and more consistent to do the perfect 3 because he has the step back if you miss, which REALLY screws up the timing
So when you said you can pull a Just Cut off any move where he sheathes his sword, I didn't believe you at first. Then I pulled one off after a JCE
It's so cool dude
Jesus fuck the timing is tight, this makes royal release look like a cakewalk
Thank you for the tutorial sir, I'm starting to be able to remove the Judment cut little by little
When I don't try I can do 4 in a row but when I do my mind goes blank 😂
Thank you for this!!!
No problem! Glad I could help :)
I can only pull this off consistently when I'm not looking at the screen 😂.
Once you get the timing down judgment cut is absolutely busted. it does tons of damage, gives you a chunk of concentration, and if you do it in the air you can stay mobile. It pretty much became my go to ranged option.
It's so overpowered dude. Once you get three perfect JDCs in a row over and over consistently you really do become invincible and can kill everything in the game so easily
Nice to meet a fellow Redgrave
I can pull it off if I use that move where he slices the air and slow time. In fact, I got that one down packed.
Void Slash? Funny enough i DON'T have that one
@@AntonioRedgrave That's it, it's the only one I've properly mastered. I did the triple cut once during VMD mode ( which was my second playthrough ) and haven't been able to do it since.
You can get a Judgment Cut without having to switch back to Yamato if you're wielding Force Edge as well.
I didn't know that. I'll have to try that later
Just practicing this to hear Vergil say jackpot😂😂😂😂
I didn't realize there was a visual indicator of sheathing the sword again, good to know.
I just sort of experimented with the timing until I got it down, I find air easier to do than ground though.
It's pretty cool right? Air is easier but ground is faster.
It feels like ground judgement cuts are harder to do than air.
Timing is everything!, That's how you do it!
I can't even do 2 consecutive perfect judgment cuts in a row, have no idea how im gonna be able to do 4, ive been trying to do it for like 30 minutes now in the void and i just can't do it, i remember in dmc 3 it used to be super easy because you could just mash the button and he would do 3 consecutive judgment cuts, but that doesn't seem to be the case for dmc 5, why did you have to change it capcom? why? Its super difficult to pull off, at least for me
1:39 he did it by accident...... I can't even do 2 in a row on purpose
Yeah same ive been trying to do it in the void for like 30 minutes now and i just can't do it, i remember in dmc 3 it was super easy to pull off 3 because you could just mash the button
Its gonna take some practice for me. Im used to dmc 3's judgement cut, as you didnt have to time the button presses, just spam it.
Ive accidently hit two in a row once, and ive been struggling to find the timing. Ive been looking at the visual cues everyone's been calling out, so ill probbaly head into the void tonight and get its practiced up. Once i get it down, it will make th game so much easier as im having to rely.on close combat for the time being and its killing me with bosses. Especially when I faced Niddhogg
This helped out a lot
Thanks
Great tutorial and I understand that its a very simple input but the void literally has a controller layout to show your exact button presses. Just seems like a no brainer 👍🏽 thanks for the help though
Yeahhhh i didn't think about that when i made this LOL the other tutorials i've done after are in the void
bro! this is nice! thank you!! you think u could slow the vid down and explain the timing?
I might make a follow up doing that, while also going into the void because that was an oversight on my part. To best explain the timing, I'd say go into mission 2 or go into the void where you can get a good look at Vergil's sword. Once you do the first judgment cut, hold it again and release it again once the sword goes back into the sheathe. I hope that helps!
Start on the ground and do a regular judgment cut, press and hold the button and ull see a light flash in the animation that wouldnt be there if u werent holding the button, that's when u need to RELEASE the button, this is the big thing, they come out on the release not ur press
@@strlRnn see i find it easier to do it in the air though. but i can never be consistent with it
@@vergil004 the timings in the air and ground are different

@@Virixas_ Yeah, I did 3 in a row some times, but still can't do it constantly
Any tips for keyboard and mouse?
So I have to press the attack again in a perfect frame or hold and release in a perfect frame
Man I spent my whole game playing life pressing buttons as command inputs but this guy has a hold-to-charge then release at the cue that I can't ever see and the cue time changes based on
1) is character on standing or airborne,
2) the first sequence can be delayed JC or perfect JC,
3) the JC can be added to the end each strike or when the habaki clicks into the koiguchi as he put Yamato back in it's saya..... To many variables for a guy who crush-grips every thing I hold, it's annoying cause I cant stop myself from doing it 😖😡
Think yourself as Vergil, Judgement Cut you doing is precise, accurate and perfection itself. There's a reason why the timing is needed. Anyways best of luck in mastering this sacred art lol
you actually don't have manually switch to yamato at the end of mirage combo B. if you just hold down the attack button, you'll preform the judgement cut automatically, and then instantly switch to yamato
I have unlocked the secret of flight
Most I’ve ever gotten on purpose was 2, most I’ve ever done accidentally was 5 (I was genuinely starting tweaking afterwards)
Actually, you can do 4 after Vergil puts his sword back in scabbard. Has nothing to do with messing up
Trying to do this perfectly fraustrates me more than finding the perfect distance with button presses to get a fatality in MK 2 on sega genesis
Oh you know it's hard when you're comparing it to MK fatalities 😂
Can’t do it all. Happens completely at random
Everybody finds there own shortcut to figuring out its timing. Some look for a specific image on screen, some ppl just KNOW the timing, I damn sure don’t 😂 but I caught it by feeling the vibrations in my controller so that was my niche. I’m not 100% perfect with it to do it whenever I want but I do it bout 70% of the time now and that enough to satisfy me. My pint is give the vibrations a try 🤷🏾♂️
Once you get it consistent you'll have no problems with it. You just gotta practice and find your groove with it
You let the button go right when the Yamato is about to charge and display arcs of electricity.
Make sure easy combos are off. I was confused for like 2 missions until I realized
If you have mastered this, the entire game is a practical joke. Doppleganger + sdt makes you do not double damage but also buffs it even more due to sdt
This move I soooo difficult but Ppl tend to find different queues, signs, and signals to help themselves time it perfectly. For me I find the controller vibration very helpful. It’s feels like you’re Revving and engine....which I find hilarious b/c Nero actually HAS and engine blade and I can’t get that “MAX-ACT” to save my life 😅😅😅
I can’t get it 100% but I’m able to get it 70% of the time during combat now and that’s enough to satisfy me 😁
I also like having the controller vibrations on. I think that also helps me with timing certain things because when i turn it off on any game i play it doesn't feel the same
Bruh Max-act is a different story, but this Muli-cut with vergil is next level, like I've almost thrown myself into a wall because of how hard it is 😂😂
It's really hard without turbo.
i feel u bro
On Normal Speed, the timing feels like it SHOULD be faster than it actually is. So you have to restrain yourself a bit, which is unfortunate
Bruhhhh I've been practicing over an hour and still can't even chain 2 together. His perfect jc sheathes so quickly It doesn't even look like he sheathes it at all and thats when everyone is saying to release it all but its do fast I can't even hold the attack button long enough to charge it again so I just don't get it and ik do frustrated
I'll give you the same advice I gave another guy who was struggling and it seemed to work for him. Two things to preface here are that just frame timing is different from when you do a delayed JC at the start of the string the second is that the timing is also different in the air and this covers ground. I'm also assuming you're NOT on turbo
If you do a delayed judgment cut where he backdashes the timing is about a half second longer since it takes longer for the cut to come out. Start holding melee as soon as you release it, it's approximately a half second hold, at the end of the the void effect. I time it to the sound of the slashes myselfnIt's close to last slash before the "shwing" at the end. Release melee again, press immediately, rinse repeat.
What I do to chain two is start with a delayed jc, and charge for a second right after I let go of the button. When he starts to sheathe the sword wait for a flash of light and if you time it right you chain the second.
i know im late...but its not about when you press and hold...its about when you release it
@@DC-gk4lswell, I gathered that much. However it honestly feels like the perfect release is somewhere between holding the button and pressing it. It's just so fast lol it feels like I'm not holding it at all.
How to do multiple judgment cuts: git good scrub
i've fucking lost my mind trying to do this shit.
my fucking hands hurt no lie 😂
Great
Top tutorial
thanks, managed to master it in 15 minutes lmao, it's surprisingly easy
Thanks a lot. I think I got the hang of it on the air. I can get three most of the time. I just cannot seem to do it on the ground. I'm not even able to get a perfect one on the ground.
Not sure if there's a difference in timings due to the hardware. I play on PS4.
The ground ones need to be done a little faster. This is also on PS5 with turbo, so the footage is faster than normal speed.
@@AntonioRedgrave Thanks. I'll definitely keep all that in mind while I keep practicing.
i know im late...but its not about when you press and hold...its about when you release it....hold and release it right after the resting animation just about to begin....
Finished the main campaign, just started Vergil's.
Finding this move I'm thinking "I want to get good at this.", so I look is tutorials and find this vid.
Watched it, tried what you said, I can barely do two on the ground with button mashing and dumb luck.
Was thinking "This is gonna be impossible in mid air.", I then find myself doing 4 consecutive cuts without fail before I land.
Was I lacking Motivation?
You were playing Vergil, you always have motivation! In all seriousness, the air timing feels more comfortable and is easier to pull off imo. On the ground you have to hold and release at a different tempo.
This is fucking impossible...I'm a pro Vergil player and this move is the bane of my existence
I did it many times, i didnt even know how i did it
I got all 3 In a row on my 1rst try by accident 😂
Good shit dude! 😂
Is it just me or is this much easier to pull off than in DMC4 SE?
Timing in general is definitely more lenient here, like Nero's exceed,Dante's royal guards, and Vergil's JC
I think it's easier, but also slower in general.
