    After reviewing the Cleveland Smart Sole Chipper, I was really curious to see how the Smart Sole Sand Wedge could work for folks needing to save some strokes around the green. In this video I provide my thoughts, both pros and cons, of this point and shoot club.

    When they came out I bought used versions of all three Cleveland Smart Sole 4 wedges. I am commenting on the Chipper separately on that review video (love it!). I now understand why opening my SS4 sand wedge face up never worked😂😂😂😂. Please review the SS4 gap wedge, I find all three of them make a complete wedge system that are remarkably easy to hit. 10:40

    Good review. I've just bought the full face versions of the SS G and S wedges after trying them out. I found the G and S wedges take care of all scenarios around the green, from about 100 yards and in. Definitely the easiest wedges I've hit and makes deciding which wedge to hit, so much less complicated.

      That’s great to hear! They’ve made a compelling line of wedges that can help an awful lot of golfers! Thanks for the comment!!

    I have Cleveland sand wedge, it’s back in the bag , the super expensive pxg sugar daddy is in the garage for now.
    I also have the new Ping chipper, and no one can tell it’s a chipper.

    I tried a demo SS G wedge on a recent golf trip and really liked it. I am now looking at the Cleveland Halo iron set and it seems the standard package is 5-PW,GW. Would the SS Chip and Gap wedge be similar to the Halo PW & GW? Just add the Sand Smart Sole wedge to complete the set?

      I haven’t tried the halo, but given the design principle behind Halo, I would think the performance would be pretty similar.

    Great stuff. if it makes golf easier, why not use it...??? I think will get one. could you do a review of the Smart sole Gap wedge??

      @TheGolfNerd  Рік тому

      Glad you enjoyed the video! The gap wedge is going to be identical to the sand wedge, except for loft. As long as a 50° wedge is what you need, I would highly recommend the gap wedge as well. Thanks for reaching out!!!

    Cleveland sand wedge smart sole vs halo?
    I have a set of Cleveland XL Launcher Halo Irons inc PW, and a Smart Sole Chipper.
    I'm missing a modern SW and, having had a shocker in the bunkers yesterday, I think I need to add a SW.
    I've only been playing 3 months and my handicap index would be 54+
    Any thoughts on which would be better?

      I’d probably lean towards the smart sole only because I have experience with it. The Halo and Smart Sole are very similar concepts, so I doubt there’d be much difference is what my intuition says. One thing to consider regarding sand shots is the type of sand you are playing. I’m not sure that a very wide sole will work great in very fluffy sand, because you need to be able to hit slightly behind the ball and propel both the ball and some sand. But for medium to firm sand, the smart sole should work nicely. Good luck and welcome to the most fun and challenging game ever created!!

      I have the same clubs Cleveland Halo Launcher and love them, but I'm also having trouble with bunker shots, still trying to work out if it's me or the club, I think it's me :)

      @@eckathewrecka depending on the type of sand you play, a wide sole could make the shot easier, or it could make it harder. In wet or packed sand, the wide se could be an advantage. I’m fluffy sand, the wide sole may make it more difficult. It’s a tricky topic.

      I started playing golf 2 years ago with Cleveland Smart Sole wedge system; gap, sand and chipper. My experience of SS sand wedge using is excellent whatever soft, firm, fluffy sand. Mostly make me get out of the bunker in one shot.

      I think they are both very good but given the Cleveland is quite a bit less expensive, I’d lean towards the Cleveland. Thanks for reaching out!!

    The whole point of this club for most people is to simplify getting out of sand and rough around the green, neither of which are even mentioned in this review.

    What's the loft and bounce on this club?

    • @TheGolfNerd
      @TheGolfNerd  Рік тому

      Cleveland doesn’t list the amount of bounce, but I would guess upwards of around 12°. As far as loft, the sand wedge is 58°.

    Why didn’t you hit any of your shots from the sand? It is a sand wedge, right?

      Fair point. I just figured more folks would want to know dry ball data, looks, sound and feel.
