Thanks for putting up useful content from an era when we all were assumed to be of a certain caliber.

These old manufacturing tutorials are the best. so easy to understand and info packed. Made when America didn't shy away from its morals and ethics. I think that this video is actually considered racist, anti Semitic propaganda among our more academically learned individuals leading our universities and government.

They are the best - period. They really cared about being the best educational system in the world back then - wasn't political like you say.

I wasn't in wood shop in high school. I'm trying to build a table top for an L shaped sit stand desk frame I purchased because the factory manufactured ones don't fit my space. UA-cam has been a fantastic resource catching me up and significantly improving the less than basics I've learned by trial and error. One thing about YT videos is they almost always have to have:
    1. A hook: usually an attempt at an entertaining persona and maybe some cheap effects and hopefully some good educational material to pass along.
    2. Sponsored links at the bottom to further monetize their channel.
    3. (optional) A sensational hook in the title, usually resulting in a video that does nothing for me.
I absolutely understand the need for this, but I haven't had an easy time of learning the basics; maybe because I haven't really sought them out. I realized after watching another video that these combination squares are what I probably should have bought than the speed squares I picked up when I first started out buying tools that looked helpful. I had no idea how to use the center finding module and landed here as the first result while searching for generic information.
While I watch the channels attempting to be very entertaining and going a little nuts, I'm more interested in how to accomplish my goals in an efficient and effective way by doing as much research as possible. The channels that toss in a small amount of flare and get more into the detail of what and why they are doing what they are doing are much more desirable. These old videos are fucking great because they cover all of the basics which I have very little formal knowledge of and only a little of self taught or what I think I may know from reading forums and watching videos. I'm not even done with this one and already have the joint video queued up and ready to watch.
I was describing using clamping cauls to a buddy who has only rarely done any type of woodworking since wood shop in high school and he knew exactly what I was talking about. It took me hours of watching videos and finally resorting to forums to finalize convincing myself that I don't need to buy a cheapo inaccurate biscuit joiner to get a flat tabletop. Hopefully I can go over some more of these videos before I start working on my table top because I'm certain there is some significant fundamental that I have no idea about but is inferred in most of the information I consume and glossed over.
    Thank you @16mm Educational Films.

Eights, sixteenths, thirtyseconds and sixtyfourths. And that's not counting the thousandths where inches start making sense since it's not a retarded fraction, but that can't really be fitted on some readily readable measure and would require some sort of specialized tool.
Comes from the same country that touts itself as pinnacle of democracy.
    It all makes sense now!
