This happen to me a few times with my 2006 charger. After a few UA-cam videos I decided to take it to my mechanic and he told me it was the pcm. So I took it to my job and my coworker found this video. He took my dash off and this video was very helpful because my actuator pin like this video was also broken. Thanks to you guys on UA-cam I fixed the problem with $25.00 ☺️
That's awesome.. glad I can help. This actuator pin broke again last week. So it lasted about 3 years just incase this happens again. I bought new one again and put old one in amazon box and did a return. So I got my money back and sent them the 3 year old pin. Hahaha
What did the car do before you replaced it? Was the car still rolling over, just not actually catching to actually start? Or was it not rolling over at all? Like a dead battery, turn the key and get silence? Trying to figure out if this is my problem or not. My 06 daytona r/t was rolling over, then it would start, for about a second and a half, then just die. Everything, it would start immediately with no trouble, only to die immediately. However, after probably 6 or 8 attempts to start it, (the same result each time) it changed. For whatever reason, now it no longer even starts. It will roll over, ...and over...and over..and it seems to roll over much faster than usual but with no start, the engine never seems to quite catch, or kick in. I am at a complete loss. I've checked, and can hear both feel pumps kick on, jumped the battery, then replaced it with a brand new good full charge battery, I added some gas too, (it WAS pretty low, only brought it up to just over 1/4 tank...changed the fuel pump relay, and the "run" relay...any advice is appreciated.
It takes about 10 minutes to remove, you can see if yours is broke. Worth seeing. Mine would not turnover as well. I'm not sure but this video is 4 years old and it happened again. These break alot. Check it. I pray it is the reason for yours easy cheap fix
Mine was doing the same thing turned out to be a dead key fob battery, the fob battery lasted at least 11 years. I should have replaced the battery sooner as just before I the problem arose the fob failed to unlock the car occasionally. The key would turn on everything, just wouldn't crank the car. Even though the car doesn't have remote start or keyless start, the switch receives a signal from the key fob to prevent theft. I now have a spare ignition switch actuator pin and starter relay in the glove box.
Well its not my actuator i took it down twice checked it & i notice a red light on by the gas gauge. Call dealership they ask if im using the right key, well yea but funny thing neither of my keys working, so i have to bring it to the stealer-ship
Boosie BadAzz That's my problem, my car ran fine no issues at at...then my car stopped cranking over. It started then died after 5 seconds then again then it stopped coming on and the red light started flashing. My key fob is busted and, I only have the one... so, I'm thinking it has to be my anti theft, I have 14 volts, power is in the car it just work crank over. I'm so fucking pissed right now because I need my car for work because, I moved to the south and no buses run by me. I hope it's the alarm and it can me fixed some how easily and cheap without going to a dealership.

My son has a 2006 charger. New battery and his car started to have this issue. I swapped the original key he had been using with the spare key and it's working now. Could something be going out though?

That's exactly what hapoen to me. Only way to start was the remote start. It's only 20.00 on amazon, wont loose out if it's not the fix, but sounds like it. These are known for breaking in the ignition, can take yours out and check it, but I'd order the part 1st. Takes 15-20 minutes

I have a 2007 charger 2.7l that is doing the same thing (turn key lights turn on but car doesn't start) I changed the actuator pin and bought a brand new battery from AutoZone. It started up I drove it for 5 min took it back home turned it off left it sitting for 3 min tried to turn it on but it started doing the same thing.. Let me know if you can help
Do you know how to get codes in dash? Turn key 3 times to on real fast and codes should come up. Google those codes. Hope this helps. Could be alternator but not sure at all.
First, thanks for the reply man.... I literally just tried that and the code that comes on is (done.) But right after it went away and back to the miles the engine light started blinking .. on and off on and off .. if been looking around to find the answer and some say it's the alternator and some say it's the electronic throttle body lol I don't want to pay to change something that's not going to fix the problem.

tvilla76 no, it will not crank if the ignition pin is broken. when mine first started going out it would start once in a while otherwise it just turned the ignition and would not do anything. lights would come on in the dash.
Checking my actuator pin now homies. Gotta good friend with me who knows cars inside and out. I also have the red light flashing by my gas gage too. Hopefully no stupid shit beside actuator going on. Love my 2007 charger but my have to trade her ass for a better one. She old just like the old man I bought her from. 💯
I’m experiencing the same thing with the solid red light and not starting. I have changed the starter, etc, pcm, alternator battery, starter relay. I’ve even taken it to the dealership and they can’t tell me what’s wrong smh! The did get it to start claiming it was the starter relay but it shut down on me a few weeks after I got it back.
deonjonesdj nope, it’s just sitting in the yard getting weathered smh! I’m about to give up on it. I’ll try to find electrician mechanic then I’m going to scrap it. I wish you good luck. I’ll repost if I can resolve the issue.

Just heads up if it's not the pin it could be the battery in the key fob. I've had the same symptom and it was the battery in my key.

My car same issue. No crank no start. Changed fuses and relays, checced the actuator pin and it is not broke. I’m not getting the red light.

Check all fuses, under hood and in trunk, check battery

Is their spring action in you ignition whe. You turn the key, does it spring back little? You can tell if it's broken before pulling ignition out

@@johnnymac1975 spend 10 minutes and take the switch out and check the actuator pin inside the switch if its cracked and or broke.

Acuator pin only causes the key not to work it dont have nothing to do with the remote start
