You are not just "someone who vlogs from one of the most fascinating and beautiful places in the world" -- you have a genius for assembling the most incredible experiences between drone views, music, light, night, color --- etc. -- Thanks for blessing us with your Nordic magic -- especially appreciated by this great-granddaughter of folks from Alme, Norway! Many blessings to you and Christopher -- and saying HI back to Grim!!
You have outdone yourself with this video and that is saying something, it's incredibly beautiful. I can feel your creative energy and joy through the camera. I hope you have a great visit with your parents! I would watch a whole video of the frozen shore like it is at 15:55! I can't imagine what it's like to see it in person.
Question I know you said in your previous videos you have to have a job to have a place in svalbard but what if you have money and wanted to move out there and don't have to work
So many love Tropical Islands, and palm trees, and the beach, and the warm weather.. But nothing NOTHING compares to the beautiful, white-snow covered mountains, aurora borealis, and Milky Way! And plus, the cold, that cold cold wind, it truly makes you feel like you’re alive & it truly makes you feel like You are human and makes you feel like you are so small, so insignificant. But yet, someone truly did make this beautiful world & universe! Thank you God!!!!!
When I first started watching her I couldn’t figure out what was different about how it looked there and then one day she said no trees grow here. Aha, lol I knew there was something off. 😂
O boy with the world coming unglued we really need this video and the peaceful feeling they bring use. The breathtaking views and the peaceful feeling they leave use with is just priceless. Thank you guys so much for letting use be part of it. Keep posting when you can but font forget to take care of you don't burn yourself out for use. Hugs &love from Michigan.
Last week in Calgary Canada we had -33c with a -40c windchill. Our winter started late October and will last till late March, April is when we get the most snow when we are sick and tired of snow ❄️
Minus 20 with the wind is brutal. We had -35 in December here in Alberta, Canada and I completely agree, no fun. Enjoy your visit with your parents. Thanks for sharing I enjoy your videos. Stay safe and well 🇨🇦🇺🇦
I just realised just how much I get caught up in your narratives combined with the incredible cinematography. When you walked out of your house, I literally got the chills. Now THAT'S powerful vlogging!!!! ❤
Cecilia, ever since I started watching your channel, it has opened my eyes to this whole other part of the earth. I appreciate the winter more after seeing your videos. Your creativity in your work truly shows as you transport us to this beautiful land. I have to say that they are so calming! Especially while I recovered from foot surgery. Grim is adorable and looks soo floofy. By the way, I loved your poem at minute 5:25. Lots of love from New Jersey, USA 💕
The colors are mesmerizing. I am thinking of taking screenshots and having paint mixed to match some of them for several rooms in my house. Thank you for sharing. 💜
Personally I think it was your best video so far. I loved all of them, but this one is really mesmerizing. The icy ocean at the end, the night skies, the reindeer... Incredibly beautiful. And of course Grim, that little furry ball of cuteness.
Wow wow wow! How beautiful! The beginning of the video and the shot of the stars, in particular, were breath taking. Gorgeous! A big hello to Christoffer, Grim and Fenris. Great job Cecilia and thank you for the beauty.
Here in Florida it is definitely spring. Soon our difficult season of HUMIDITY will be here. I get relief watching your videos. I swear the temperature in the room drops when I see that beautiful, icy scenery. Thank you.
Such a revelation! I had no idea your Winter and cold temps start now. Wow! After discovering your channel a few months ago I decided to add Svalbard to my weather app just to see how your temps compare to here ( New England) No wonder it seemed to go down instead of up. Thank you for your fascinating channel.....I discovered a part of the world I did not even know existed. Not a big fan of the cold, but I must say Svalbard is spectacular!
You really are a very lovable person and you can literally see the enthusiasm on your face. In the meantime you have become the face of Svalbard.... and send the many great impressions out into the world. Thank you for that.... Lots of love
Where I am in Canada, we almost always get our first snowfall in September, then January and February are our coolest months with at least a few weeks down to -40°C, and then our last snowfall is usually sometime in late April or early May. 🥶
Watching with my primary school aged child-He is falling asleep with stars in his eyes and dreams that he might one day see those stars. Thanks for showing him the galaxy!
Your video is a healing balm, the beauty of Svalbard, the peace you convey... Magnificent Grim living his best and sweetest life, I love how he looks all around as he surveys the surroundings and also how much he loves his Mama, you can see it in his eyes. ❤️
Stunning. Love your description “Standing on the doorstep to the galaxy. “ You are a very gifted photographer and the narration was so well done. Thank you for sharing this incredible landscape.
So your winter arrives when it's Spring in the UK even though we are in the same hemisphere. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I love your vlogs xx
They have had winter before this, they just call the beginning the polar night, but it scientifically happens during winter. Where I live we have eight seasons, but of course they happen within the four seasons.
I enjoy and I learn a lot of interesting facts watching all your wonderful videos. But this, in my opinion, is absolutely the best 👍you did, so far. 🤩The night sky and the panoramic view are really breathtaking. Incredible beauty!! Thanks a lot for share it. It helps me to live better and I'm always waiting for your news video coming. I was in Longyearbyen once in June 2019, but only as tourist, and I miss a lot that lovely place.....living there is surely nice and relaxing. Watching all your videos let me feel ☺as I'm with both of you in the wonderful Svalbard!! You and Christoffer are lucky, nice and....brave!! Your home is really wonderful. I wish you 😍all the best in life. Greetings from Italy!!❤🤗
The views leave me speechless! I can only imagine what it’s like in person. How precious is Grimm!! He just looks so happy and it’s such a reminder how he is perfectly made for his environment! I have to comment on how beautiful your hair is!!! It has gotten so long and shiny!!! Beautiful❤️
That really surprised me . I would have expected it to warm up now, you are right I am surprised. I just want to go into the warm house watching this. I suspect the house is what I would consider really cold. Thank you!
So beautiful Cecilia ,,the place is magical ,,I don’t know if I can live there aur not but at least wud love to visit Svalbard once in my life ,,,thxxx for sharing such amazing videos with us ❤️❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌👌👌👍👍👍
I live in a northern city in Canada and I must say you helped me a lot to go through winter. Since I watch your videos, I enjoy cold weather and snow a little bit more, thank you Cecilia for your amazing content!! :)
Good morning from the USA. It's 77°F where I live.🏖 Thank you again for the beautiful scenery. Would love to be able to star gaze there. I just love the night sky.
Holy Cow - beautiful from start to finish. I am one who did NOT know that your Winter is just starting. I love to learn things so thank you for all and looking forward to seeing your parent's visit if you decide to share that.
Spectacular scenery with pastel colors and a “slush” in the ocean bc it’s soooo cold! Reindeer, star gazing skies, and simply amazing sights in the sky! God is the artist extraordinaire!! Thank you for the beautiful photography.Susan
I agree with you. I don't want the wind to take away the snow either. The Aurora was so beautiful. The mountains are breath taking. Definitely going to have to put Svalbard on my bucket list of places to visit. Thanks for sharing.
I was just thinking how happy you guys make me feel whenever you upload a new video. Is like a new book that I want to dive right in and read it in one go! wow, I really thought winter is actually almost gone. how wrong I was lol. Grim is impatient hi hi
Hi Cecilia! In Ohio, US, our winter is November until March. We can expect snow thru April. The days are already starting to warm up & almost all of our snow is melted. Next comes the rainy, windy days with a few mild days scattered (March, April, May). In the beginning of June it will be warmer & more consistently nice. Just wanted to let you know how it works for us! 😃
I had no idea that the winter came later for you up there. I just thought you were having an extraordinarily mild year! It gets very cold here where I live in Alberta Canada but it gets less so starting now. It's lovely to see your excitement for your parents' visit!
Not being crazy, who wouldn’t love and envy the beautiful relationship you have . You are a beautiful voice that shows us how humanity should work :) Poor Christoffer lmao Does he drink :)
I love how excited you were about the view from your hike and everything about your outing. The lights of the town were so pretty. Keep up sharing your Svalbard. Susan
This was a great video to watch to start my day off. So calming and beautiful. I love how to describe the bitter cold as reminding you of where you live. Here in Seattle when we get a dreary drenching rain like we did earlier this week, I reminded myself that the rain is why we are surrounded by so many beautiful trees and should be grateful for the abundance of water.
Besides your filming and editing excellence you have such a huge talent in writing your descriptions. You would have made a huge carier as Journalist or anchor women. You are an awesome lady. And Chris definitely shares his part since warmed up and speaking. It’s a pleasure to watch him smile and baking
That starry night sky was incredible. So breathtaking. I look forward to your videos so much. You inspire me to take a beat… a breath and appreciate. Find the beauty every day. So thank you. You give me my fill of the majesty and magic this world endlessly gives. ❤️
I'm in literal all awe after watching this video. I want to whole heartedly jump inside this vid to experience Svalbard in full glory. Those Northern lights with clear skies as backdrops were drop dead gorgeous jaw dropping. And your house 😍 was also too dreamy. All in all this whole video was like a dream
This was very interesting. I thought your winter period would be much more like mine in Saskatchewan. We are coming into the longer days, and slowly warming. We sometimes get a lot of snow in February and March, but this year we got snow almost every 4 to 5 days all winter. Sometimes a lot and sometimes a little. We can usually count on bright sunny days when we have the coldest temps. This weird year it has been snowing when it's minus 25C. Today we woke up to minus 19 with a wind chill of minus 29C. Honestly this winter just won't let go. I agree with you that -15C is a great day for being outside as long as there is no wind. Your vlogs have put Svalbard on my bucket list.😊
I live near Chicago and because of the lake. We will have days like almost 60゚😎 and then the next day it will be a feel of 20°. We'll go through Spring, Winter and summer in a week. Before it gets so hot you can't even step outside Without feeling like you're about to melt over A 100゚F. Thank you so much for sharing love your videos.
Honestly, I could watch a full five minutes (or more) of just that semi-frozen seashore. So gorgeous. So much to take in.
Same! So calming!
Agreed. Just have the camera record a gorgeous view for x minutes and upload the result 🙂. I've had the same thought.

I could deal with isolation, small communities, cold, darkness and the like.
Lack of trees would drive me crazy though!
Me too.
Exactly my thought!
I sometimes think this too, as much as i love the snow.
Lack of trees would feel pretty strange actually. Good point.
When I first started watching her I couldn’t figure out what was different about how it looked there and then one day she said no trees grow here. Aha, lol I knew there was something off. 😂
This is so breathtaking for someone who's never experienced snow/winter..Much love from the city of the sun. Nairobi, Kenya.
Videos like these are my safe space on the Internet these days, inbetween news items about you-know-what.
That footage of the night sky was magnificent!
I have not touched snow since January 1977. Life is good.
I have added Svalbard to my bucket list of places to visit because of you. 🥰

Cecilia mentioned in her last video, or maybe the prior, that her parents were coming for a visit.
But yeah that was a couple weeks ago.

I had no idea that the winter came later for you up there. I just thought you were having an extraordinarily mild year! It gets very cold here where I live in Alberta Canada but it gets less so starting now. It's lovely to see your excitement for your parents' visit!
Svalbard is much more mild than most arctic locations due to the Gulf Stream ocean current.
Not being crazy, who wouldn’t love and envy the beautiful relationship you have . You are a beautiful voice that shows us how humanity should work :)
Poor Christoffer lmao
Does he drink :)
Thank you for sharing your world! :) 🇨🇦

Thanks again for the lovely slice of life, Cecilia. I hope we get to see you and your parents while they visit!
The colors remind me of Maxwell Parrish with his constant sunrise and sunset and twilight world. Lucky you.
This was very interesting. I thought your winter period would be much more like mine in Saskatchewan. We are coming into the longer days, and slowly warming.
