We can only do our best to teach them how to protect themselves for if and when the time comes that they need to. It's almost like some dark web type stuff. The people keeping them alive for days/weeks to torture them. Also, the knowledge they would have had to have to do all the surgical procedure style tortures on them as well and keep them alive while doing it? It just seems that whomever is behind these crimes are very skilled and careful as to leave no evidence behind. It is truly terrifying. I can't even begin to imagine what these poor men/boys went through before their final moments. My heart breaks for their parents to have to live with knowing what their children experienced during those time. A parents worst fear. 😞

Same here, these torture-murders gave me nightmares, when I first heard of them in a documentary about this case 1 or 2 years ago, so I immediately recognized it.
There's something so deeply disturbing and terrifying about the imagination of being held captive and agonizingly slowly getting tortured to death over a time-period of days/weeks/months, (regardless of the gender targeted), that these murders truly stuck with me!
I'd consider this to be the worst way to die, (I'd guess, pretty much everybody feels that way), so I couldn't stop thinking about it - I can't imagine the fear and pain all the victims had to go through; may they R.I.P.
& I wondered, if the "people" doing this have been working as torturers in medieval times (for fun) in their previous lives?
Cause I'm sure, it takes a certain type of cruel personality to enjoy such acts.

Damn, maybe it’s only those cases, but why was it normalized in Australia back then to get into strangers cars and hitchhike? I noticed that it’s a common part in many cases, Bella has told us in the last couple of week. I’m truly confused about this 😫! *Is hitchhiking a thing in Australia?*

It was very common in the 70s, 80s & 90s. People don't do it anymore as it's widely known and you're taught when you're a kid how unsafe it is and not to do it.

I won't spoil the outcome for those who've never heard about it, just...buckle up, people.
Most people peg the Bodies in the Barrels murders as our worst, insofar as group involvement, but these fuckers are hands down the most depraved, vicious & vile, in my opinion.
What they did to those poor boys, the length of time they subjected them to that horrific torture, is literally jaw-dropping.

What is the name of the documentary? I’d really like to watch it. Do you remember where you watched it (Netflix, Hulu etc.) by chance? That’s just awful they have never been able to fully solve this case! They really should have cold cases look into this again and run DNA Tests against all of evidence they collected all those years ago. I’d bet they’d be able to get something now with how much DNA evidence has improved since then. Ughhh… it’s so incredibly sad.. those poor families.. and all those young men whose lives were cut short because of a group of sadistic f*cks. What an absolutely tragic case.
