No drivers, No software, just drag and drop your roms and save files. More than 5x faster than any other cart dumper/flasher available, and cheaper than the 20yr old Chinese clones on eBay! This looks like the easiest flasher to use. It doesn't require any fancy software, and it will be perfect for testing my GB Studio game on real hardware.

@Peter Chapin I've only used it on Windows and Linux. It does take a few minutes to copy ROMs depending on the size though.
This is AMAZING, just discovered this today and ordered one immediately!! Now I have way more incentive to actually play my old Pokemon games knowing I can actually back up my 'mons and send them to newer games!! 💙

Can I use this to backup a reproduction Pokémon FireRed cartridge? There’s a method to transfer the save to a real cartridge by using Visual Boy Advance, and then making the emulator make a separate save.

Which are the best flash carts to use with this to flash both ROMs and save data onto? As I want Invidual game carts with the use of this product. And also where can I buy the flash carts from I seen some on bennvenn web page but i very confused on what to buy and what I can use to easily read and write saves

how do i put the save file I backed up back to the cartridge and continue where I was before, after the battery died and I changed it?

i see you are using a Win7 pc on this demo. Will this work on Win10 pc as well? Or will a Win7 machine be necessary? Thanks

trying to flash a cart, it keeps defaulting back to some generic GBC.rom, and I use the mode.txt to try and save. No idea whats going on

This may be a dumb question, and it's certainly specific: with this device, could I take a Japanese Pokemon Crystal cartridge and replace the files with English Crystal version files?
It might work, but the game would still be in Japanese.
@@stevensiwinski You mean only the label right? How would the game still be in Japanese if it's replaced with an English version?
@@rushilgupta1471 Assuming he is talking about an authentic Japanese cartridge, the game contents are in Read Only Memory (ROM), and are not rewriteable. For some Japanese games that have English translations, you might be able to transfer an English save onto the cartridge, but the game itself would still be in Japanese. If he is talking about a bootleg copy of Japanese Pokemon Crystal, then you can likely easily rewrite it with an English copy using the Joey. Most bootlegs use flash memory, which is easily rewriteable.

The version will still be the japanese one, but maybe the texts and some sprites can be translated, do you think it's possible? Or will we need to test it? I'm thinking of this as I would use a changed ROM on hardware "designed" for it

Yes, same with GB Carts, supports LSDJ ROM's and saves too
does the cable you connect the flash cart with the pc/laptop come with the flash cart?
It is a simple USB-C cable. It is not included as we expect most people to have at least one at home already. We have them in store for $1.50 if you need spares

Can I take a Pokemon save from an emulator such as Retroarch and import the save file onto a real cartridge? How would I do this? Thanks.
I think we were just chatting in the discord but for anyone else with the same question, just drag and drop the save file and it'll transfer to your cart

I may be doing this wrong, but with my cheapo Pokemon FireRed , I flashed my edited FireRed version to the cart, on iMac, everything copied okay but when inserting to game boy the screen remained on the game boy screen and once in the iMac again with joey v2 the cart won't register but joey will 😅 Any help would be appreciated!

seems it needs more work for the linux handling if you wanna update the romlist or the save files on cartridges as it did not work with the scripts from bennvenns shop... found another github users script that worked but generally running random scripts you not 100% sure are safe is dangerous
Would I be able to put Gba video roms onto carts hiding this?
Yes, our latest firmware also supports 128mbyte GBA multi carts which can fit around 60-90minutes of good quality video on them
Is there something like this for say nes and snes carts?
We released our NES version about 4 years ago and discontinued it a little over a year ago, there was just no interest in it. We had a SNES version planned too but decided to put it on hold. We are currently working on a N64 version which can dump carts and flash the bootlegs
How do you delete the save permanently?
You can copy a blank file to the device, or a save from any other game. Most games have a button combo at power on to reset the SRAM though

Where does the joey jr show up on phone? Is it in files
The same place a usb drive would appear if you plugged it in. Where exactly depends on your phone brand/OS/etc
@@bennvennelectronics I'm confused mainly cause I've never plugged something in my phone that has a file. I've only plugged a phone into a computer to get files of the phone. Never plugged a device into my phone.
So if I fo to my files and storage on my android phone I'll see an icon for the joey jr?

Is this compatible with Macs?
This particular firmware isn't (very outdated) but you can grab the FlashGBX software from the Joey page in my store and its fully compatible with Macs

Romhacks work fine with the Joey, you can even make your own
@@bennvennelectronics Okay so I got a cart off Ebay for Pokemon Flora Sky - Complete Edition to play on my gameboy advance, then found out that that version has less content, so I'm trying to switch the file on there to the Main Version one I played a bit of on my computer. I deleted the old game, saved the MODE! file, then copied over the new file Saving MODE! again closes the window, and on re-opening, the file is no-longer on the cart, replaced by a 16mb pokemon emerald (the game the cart was designed for, I assume, based on the appearance, and that Flora Sky was based on Emerald as well, if I recall correctly).
The sticker on the cart says AGB-BPGE-USA, Flora Sky Main Version is 32mb
I tried not saving MODE! and just ejecting like that, but no dice.
@@gauchesuedo It'll be easier to work this out in our discord but just a few things - Don't delete anything from the Joey, it doesn't do anything to the cart. If you've changed the rom from Flora Sky to emerald, we know the cart is flashing and the only way the rom could get on there is if you copied emerald to it. Could be an issue with your patch? In any case, head on over to the discord and we can go through a few things. Oh and make sure the ROM you're writing isn't larger than the cart can support.
