I wonder when Gert van Hoef's critics will publishing their performance on UA-cam so everyone can hear their technique, registration, etc. Keep up the excellent work. You make a lot of people's day with your playing.
Stunning performance. One of the best organ performances in my 65 rears. Genius use of the organ and setting.
Excellent!! I suspect Mrs van Hoef is having a very large baby!! He or she will certainly know what an organ sounds like after that!! Best wishes to both!!
Great teamwork. Loved seeing baby bump. Take care.
And this baby will be just as good as his dad. He is starting young !
Always enjoy your playing Gert. It's good to hear a darker piece too, but made so alive with exciting registration, wonderful interpretation and masterful playing. I smiled seeing Marjolein's baby bump. What wonderful stories you will both tell your child(ren) about all the music they were there for in utero. Best from Long Island, New York, USA.
What a superb performance!
Absolutely stunning and one of the best performances on the organ I have enjoyed in my 65 years
I enjoyed this immensely. I played this on my graduate recital. What a marvelous piece!
Gert, your skill never ceases to amaze me!, especially with the help of Marjolien and little guy too.
Remarkable! Brilliantly played and fantastic acoustic in that church.
Another amazing performance. And Marjolein kept very busy and looks so beautiful. She has the wonderful "glow" of a new-mommy to be. And a nice place to rest here hands for a brief second between pulling stop ;-)
Beautifully played Gert. Always a pleasure to listen to you. Best wishes to you both 😊
Just as Saint Saens when he heard Listz played on the Great Cavaille Coll organ at Ste-Clotilde in Paris, you have left me speachless. Nevertheless I have to speak. That is perhaps the finest performance of that magnificent piece I have heard in my 73 years of loving the organ. Your interpretation, registration, and techinique are incomprable. Thank you for making my day Gert.
Gert makes Everyones Day!!
Well put!
Thom, please spell "speechless" correctly in future posts. Thanks.
@@Railfan6675 No need to capitalize "everyone" and "day." They are not proper nouns. Please review and do it correctly in subsequent posts. Thank you.
@@dannieto1453 are you serious?
Very well done Gert. You kept Marjolein busy on this one. Hope you enjoy summer and it's not all work and concerts. Take time for yourselves!
& Jhr. Humphrey. What a terrific performance. Beautiful. Merci.
Gert it seems will be taking over for the great Virgil Fox and Carlo Curly ! All that practice is is paying off, but please don't over do it. We need you around for many years to come. Bravo !!!
Stunningly Suberb!!!!!!!!! I think this was the best of all your performances. Certainly looks to be very difficult and challenging, but, once again, you excelled wonderfully. Great job of your assistant (wife) too.
What a beautiful interpretation.... Really good!
Ah, organ music that could be weighed by the pound. As somber and sober as it comes. Thank you Gert. You are becoming a tourist attraction, a reason to visit Europe.
Agreed! :-)
He is next oktober in Alaska, Fairbanks, for two concerts!Watch his schedule on his web-site!
Oh 👏 . I can't express how much I love your sound. What a joy you bring to so many.
Thanks for a new, great experience! Good wishes to you both!
Fantastisch gespeeld!
Schitterende! Difficult and challenging piece. Great teamwork! And what a beautiful performance. There are a lot of great organs in America and Canada waiting for a good workout...… :) Thank you for sharing this performance with us!
Heel Mooi Gert and Marjolein , Magicalpipes :)
geweldig genoten, waarvoor mijn oprechte dank
Absolutely thrilling performance. And what a beautifully voiced organ. Fernando Germani would have loved it.
Certainly more than deserved the standing ovation.
What a difficult piece Gert, but you did it GREAT justice! Bravo! to you both btw
brilliant rendition . loved it.
Best of luck ans may God bless you.
Wow!! Thank you, Gert!!
Bravo, Gert! That was powerful! Well done!
Nice to see you back. Too long between selections. Again, Bach is my favorite.
Amazing!!
Bruh that's awesome!
GREAT!!
My first time of hearing this in full. I should listen to more of Liszt's organ repertoire.
I just noticed the slight detuning of the stops at about the 12:20 mark, it imparts a mysterious and pleasing sound in that magnificent chamber.
Bravo gespeeld!
Thank You!
VVV
I very much enjoy your playing!! Keep it up Gert. From Vancouver, Canada.
I have to admit, the first couple of minutes or so had me wondering about how you were going to pull this together. I figured it out at the 3:00 minute mark! Fantastic performance!
EXCELLENT!!!
Superb!
Lekker hoor! 😃👍🏼
great
Good good very good!!!
Same organ company as built the instrument in Truro Cathedral
The Best :)
from Canada ! Superb!
That's good ;)
Please can the serial dislikers that troll every video that Gert posts just remove yourselves from his channel, really have you nothing better to do
roger sturgess Maybe they have mental health issues.
I haven't see too many trolls or disingenuous comments. However, I just realized, they are they still listening to the music though, I wonder...and I wonder if it is on some small level, getting through to them. Perhaps.
Rich Thenative 26 dislikes, what's not to like about this and all of Gerts uploads, the absolute passion he shows in everything he plays, the understanding of every instrument he plays, the understanding of harmonics in every church or hall he plays in
The trolls are a sad part of humanity. You just have to ignore them. It is sad they think so little of themselves they need justification and obtain satisfaction by putting down those more happy, intelligent, creative, hard working, talented and competent. Just the way it is and sadly the newer media allows their vitriol to be more prevalent. It is tough, but ignore it and do not give more satisfaction by responding to them. You will not change them and then you too drop down a notch or two closer to their level of mean-spiritedness. Do not let them diminish your pleasures of engagement and appreciation of others.
Probably shut-ins who have nothing better to do. And definitely people who probably couldn't play Mary had a little lamb on a Magnus play by cord battery organ.
Get congrats on getting married since you are younger than I can you do the Etude for pedals by Middlesholti may be spelled wrong sorry could never master it 9nly one I ever heard play it was Virgil Fox
Thank you for learning, performing and posting this magnificent piece by Liszt. How did I miss seeing this before now? Absolutely at the top of my "List" and your performance the intimacy of the video makes it all the better. Thank you, thank you! I will listen to/watch this many times. By the way, how did the performances in Fairbanks, Alaska go last month?
Marjolein is beautiful, but where is Jan de Rooij? I miss seeing him and want to see him play, too. It's been said he also is an organist.
This sure is a strange looking church. It looks more like Grand Central Station in New York City.
Its a very typical Dutch cathedral - built between 1391 and 1415. They are all huge quite plain spaces.
It seems that the organist has his socks of two different colours.
you know, it really does not matter if he is wearing socks or not. I am listening to his music and in my opinion, he could wear purple and yellow socks or no socks at all.
Liszt verdunkelt Bachs Klarheit.
