The €5 MILLION Mercedes 500K Spezial Roadster

- Julian gave me the opportunity to review a 1/29 Mercedes-Benz 500K Spezial Roadster. The 500K is one of the most expensive cars out there. There is quite a lot of wind noise, so you might want to turn on the subtitles. But I ordered a deadcat for my mic so that should be fixed in future videos! Let me know what car you would like to see next in comments.
Got a sweet car that I can review? Contact me: tommiworks@gmail.com
Massive thanks to Julian and the others at Historic Competition Services. This car is for sale, so head on over to www.historiccompetitionservice... to check it out.

I don't think i could be this calm around a €5million 90 year old classic.
Beautiful car.
Wow man! Mercedes 500K is an incredible car. So elegant, so different. I love the part of hidden seats as well. That's genius! Thanks for the review!
Kamran Jafarli I’m really glad you enjoyed it 😁! Consider subscribing for more content like this in the future 😊
Ford did that with the the Model A in 1927, but called it a Rumble Seat. My mother, RIP, told me stories of rides in the rumble seat as a teenager. No, you schmucks, not that kind of ride!
Look at the quality!!!!
This is one of the most beautiful cars ever made!
That´s what I call a beautiful car.
Great vid Thomas Demuro
Tommiworks, what a find; Julian, what a great no-nonsense review.
Tommi works did it again! schunne!
Love it. Thank you.
You deserve way more subs and views 👍 great content buddy
lordliam8 thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the video 😊
This is truly one of a kind....I am sure it's worth every penny
I have had the pleasure of seeing a few of these cars at special car events. The thing that stands out for me about this car, especially compared to a Duesenberg, is its very low profile body and rakish style. The Bugatti type 57 special roadsters also have this design feature which makes them the most desirable pre-war classics.
I bid $25. Actually, it is the the most beautiful car ever built, and if I ever had the money, I would own one. 50 years ago, I had a plastic model of the glorious vehicle. Very swoopy! Lots of French curves! Lol!
Stunning
los alemanes siempre impresionando con sus diseños de vehículos lo máximo Mercedez 500K
Very nice car !!!!
I think the 500k and 540k Mercedes were the coolest cars ever made. Its definitely my favorite. Maybe a Horch could compete in looks, but the grill makes the Mercedes win in the beauty department. Too bad they didn't make more of them. I saw a removable hardtop 540K version that was bright red in color at the Concours d'Elegance in Forest Grove, Oregon in 1976 that was also very nice. I never saw the car anywhere ever again. I think red fits this car the best, since it is a sports car.
That car is next level incredible!
This car could eat any new mercedes.
No matter how underpowered it is
sweet car
Thomas the kind of guy who wears pyjamas in the winter
i like the guy more than the car he reminded me og my forgotten college crush
Lindo auto, elegante y espectacular.
Worlds most beautiful car. no other car brand can beat that. He dressed correctly. hes got the right uniform to drive that car.
Wish i could hear more informations about this car and see move videos of driving this car. I wonder how it would feel to drive it, thats why we need pov drive video.
There should be replicars of this masterpiece, a treat for the eyes,
More please!?
Thanks for sharing this 😇💪🕊️😎🙌✌️✝️🤍😊. So beautiful. Blessings 🌍🎼☮️💛❤️♥️♈
The 500K was a personal luxury roadster, not a performance sports car. The SSK filled that role, and did so with brutal power and efficiency.

wauu absolut so amazing,,,only mercedes benz💚👏👍👍💪💪
my favourite car in Mafia.
A proper and accurate review. Not just a fan rave.
Thank you for the kind comment, Peter!
@@Tommiworks Thanks so much, that we can see this beautiful car! I had many questions to you. One of them is, how many time you can the gas pedal kick down, that the motor build not to much bar, and the engine didn't burst or exploded. I can now were read how long you can the roots compressor take his work, and not overload the engine.
Best regards from Austria, and it's a dream, to drive one time this beautiful car. Thomas
I dont care its "slow" or that its thirsty, its probably the most beautiful car ever made
Very handsome !!
Ought to come back to Germany!...or stay there, seems it still has number plates.
Dare I say this, is the compressor set up correctly if the boost is feeble? Is there a weak link somewhere?
Seals on Roots style blowers were not the best in cars of the prewar era, they probably lasted maybe 30,000 miles tops and started going downhill out of the sales floor. It takes a bona fide gearhead enthusiast with money like Jay Leno to properly restore a classic car engine, most rich classic car buyers don't want to touch their cars beyond basic function and 10 point looks, which is why you often go to concours car shows and see classic beauties hard starting, coughing and sputtering. Those gems never ran like that when new.
the car looks like it is a speed demon that could go a million miles an hour !
For the time period, accolades always went to the French and the Italians for design etc but Mercedes was always right there in the design dept.... however it was their engineering that was always on a different level. Yes some early alfas and Bugatti and delahaye etc were awesome but at a price where as Mercedes just built them that way. Check out the Cargold collection for some amazing Mercedes.
Are you dutch? (Or Belgium)
Because i am, and i love this car :)
Thijs Rikkerink Yes I’m Belgian! I love the car too :)
what about the engine ?
Who mutch this car in u r contry
Good
i think this model is like goering's 'blue goose'.
You beat me to it
King, Sultan, or HERMAN GOERING
The car was designed in its time for its time.. where most cars had two-speed transmission three- speed & 100HP+ powertrain was King
Great car, of course, but too German and exhuberant to my taste. Hermann Goering on wheels. I much prefer the rather more sophisticated two-tone green Lagonda at 9:08 !
Now that's cruella devil's car
Thought that truck was gonna rear end it
29 were built.Only 80 survived the war.

Die Frage ist. Ist das ein Original Auto oder ein Replica. Hätte gerne den Motor gesehen.

Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe .....
I have the headlights of this original car. When I ended the war they were left to my grandfather by a German officer. If anyone could be interested I would be happy to sell them.
Do you still have the headlights for a 500K or 540K for sale, and if so how much?
If available please send price and photos!
Thank you.

Or you could buy a 540k hard top for 1 million and basically everything is superior apart from rarity.
you are not standing in front of it, mate
botezatu andrei what do you mean?
My god the nose twitching from the driver, the guy snorted more cocain than Maradona.
It is not avtomobile , it,s spase shutllllllle!
As Beautiful as Useless....if I were a Millionaire....I would place it in my Living Room....as a Sculpture and Tribute to German Engineering....
you have to be a real jerk to say that this car is not hot!!!! beautiful car!
30l/100km that's bad
Yeah, but pretty normal for those days!
Super Pagt It’s from the 30s what’d you expect
Wonderful car, yes, but not in black...
So, you could buy 5 of them, in stead of going for one of the few McLaren F1's....
5 million I will buy house for my self and my future kids if I married. Final Conclusion: world is going crazy.
Remove the underpowered 5.0 liter in line 8 and replace it with a Duesenberg 6.9 liter Twin overhead cam supercharged in line 8 and you would have the best of both makes in one! 325 hp vs 160 (at best) from the 500K. That Mercedes would move more like an Auto Union GP car! It's a stunning car in any event.
Look for the Mercedes ssk Black Prince.
@@VG-ey4gi - Yes that would be more like it! Doesn't quite have the same visual as the 500K though. The very swept lines on the 500K say speed! However, when you look under the hood, it is just such a disappointment compared to its German American counterpart. American feeling - If it looks fast, it damn well better be fast! Duesenberg was able to impress in both speed and quality luxury. The great, late actor Gary Cooper had a 1935 Duesenberg SSJ, one of only two built. The great Clark Gable had the other on loan from Duesenberg as a promotional deal. Cooper's car sold a couple years ago at auction in America and went for $22,500,000, a record for an American car at auction. Oh ya, both cars had a short chassis and a modified intake manifold that bumped the horsepower to about 400! Top speed was shown as 140mph. They were the most powerful and fastest production cars in the world at the time.
This was built in the III. Reich.
probably why it doesn't suck and has class
The driver's comments are a disgrace to the German car industry, which where the best in this time.
But anyway, Germany doesn't exist anymore. Great job to the allies.
yeah it sucks, allies winning sure did lot of good... only took the whole world to stop germany
Germany actually did much better after it rebuilt it's heavy industry without the 3rd Reich. No government run by malignant psychopaths, no ethnic citizen prison camps, no food rationing and the ability to build automotive masterpieces like my black-on-black 1979 Mercedes 6.9 liter sedan without slave labor.
