this is hands down THE best and most thorough review of the cybex sirona s car seat! Thank you so much! For such a large investment it is important for consumers to be able to do some research before committing and I truly appreciate coming across your video! thank you thank you. As a 5 mo pregnant first time mom this eased my anxiety about making a choice :)
I’m having an extremely hard time installing this. I feel there’s still a lot of movement I don’t feel safe putting my daughter in yet. I’ve had 3 people trying to help install this thing. I will have to schedule an appointment with Cybex
This review is what sold me. We have been between 2-3 convertible seats, but this video was so informative and seeing pictures of how it actually worked for you was so helpful. Thank you! I’m sold!
Thank you this review. My husband and I struggle with moving our toddler grandson into his car seat. I finally decided to look up the safety and customer reviews and after watching your video I took the plunge and ordered from Albee Baby using the coupon. I appreciate the time it took to compile such a complete and honest review. Hope your family is well 😄
Does yours seems to move a lot in rear facing at the head of the car seat? Our base is super tight to the seat and hardly moves at all, but I'm concerned with how much it moves the farther away from the seat belt it gets. I sent a video to cybex and they said it was normal but I'm just unsure.
Olivia Worsham Grab the seat at the belt path with your non-dominant hand and give it a handshake. If it moves more than one inch in and direction then it’s too loose. You don’t check for tightness at the top. For GREAT car seat tips check out @safeintheseat on the instagram. It will make you feel a lot better about your install😊
I’m so glad I found this video! I’ve been thinking about purchasing this for about a month but didn’t want to spend $500 & have been waiting for a discount or sale. The coupon on Albee worked and I saved $100! Thanks so much! Plus this was a great review, I’ve watched a few on this seat & you mentioned things I hadn’t seen or heard before. 🙂
Please do an install!! Even if it’s not official. Just to show how yours doesn’t wiggle. It seems like that is a common problem across the board. Lots of videos have comments stating the same. I own the Sirona M, this S didn’t have an official release date at the time I needed a new car seat. But after your review I closed my eyes and went ahead and purchased it. Cringes. We have our little one in the middle seat and it’s a pain to get her in and out.
We just purchased this car seat and installed it. This is our first convertible car seat. Does yours seems to move a lot in rear facing at the head of the car seat? Our base is super tight to the seat and hardly moves at all, but I'm concerned with how much it moves the farther away from the seat belt it gets. I sent a video to cybex and they said it was normal but I'm just unsure. Could you do an install video or just show how much movement in the base and seat is normal? Thanks!
same. I can get the base at the seatbelt to move less than 1/2", which is suppose to be ok. but man oh man does the head part move SO MUCH MORE than my last car seat so it just *seems* unsafe.
Same with us. We installed the car seat and the base barely moves. But when I move the seat (headrest) its a lot of movement. Did you end up returning the seat?
You only test for movement at the belt path! Any rear facing seat will move at the top/headrest area - it’s not attached to anything there! It will move in a crash too, as designed, safely cocooning the child as it absorbs crash forces.
So I’m a first time mom...just trying to learn things before baby comes...would you use this to bring baby home from hospital? Or is this when they are older ? This looks like it stays in the car not to carry baby in correct?
One feature I love abt the car seat is the swivel feature. But you would not be able to take the car seat out with baby in it to snap onto a stroller right? What do you do if baby is sleeping? You have to transfer baby to stroller? Sorry trying to think of scenarios to consider.
Hi thank you for the great review. I have ordered it and waiting for it to arrive, but still can’t fully commit due to a minor concern. Do you think it will be uncomfortable for the child once forward faced because of the load leg? Having a pole between the legs? Just seems weird to me.
Hey momma! That’s a great question and honestly something I hadn’t considered. I agree and feel like I’m a certain level it would be either awkward or even uncomfortable at times for them. We bought the Evenflo Revolve 360 to do a review and are sticking with it moving forward. There’s pros and cons to each but I personally (and believe my daughter does too) enjoy the Evenflo more. It doesn’t have the load leg so it won’t be a factor when we forward face her!
Do you think the gray color is cooler In temperature than the black? Black matches my car better, but I’m wondering if the gray would be cooler or if it isn’t that big of a difference. We live in Florida so it’s hot!
Yes, it is! We have a black car seat now and I would say it’s considerably hotter than the gray. Normally I try to match my car too but I wish we had gone with a lighter shade and will moving forward!
Great video! Thank you! We’re about to purchase one for our daughter. Love the color but afraid it’s too light and it will be difficult to keep it up clean. How do you like it so far?
Thanks so much! The color was never much of an issue for us! We even had a yellow, breastfed poop explosion in it and the stain came right out! But usually with all our car seats I opt for black when I can😅
The 360 degree rotation is awesome if your child is in the rear-facing position. It makes it SO much easier to get babies and small toddlers in and out of the car. Unfortunately, in the forward-facing position the car seat needs to be anchored with the anchor strap which makes the rotation feature unusable. This Sriona S is not able to turn to the sideways when using facing mode.
Thank you thank you thank you! So excited you posted your review today (no joke, I literally squealed in delight 😂). We are looking at getting this for my 18 month old who is about to outgrow her Chicco fit 2. My other contender is the nuna exec. But now after listening to your review I’m leaning cybex. Thanks again!
The Exec is the one we almost went with! But that is $700 (no coupons allowed) so for the price and all the features I think the Cybex is so much better! Happy to help momma!
Thank you! We purchased these and are about to install but we can't find the serial #. We found the model # and date manufactured. Would someone please tell me where to find the serial #? TYIA!
Yay! So happy to hear that! As long as you won't be removing the seat often, yes! If you plan to switch the seat for car to car or have to reinstall it often, I would go with the Rava because the install on that is unbeatable!
Thank you for the great review. I am considering purchasing this car seat. Does the seat move from the base when in the locked position? I read a ton of reviews that said the seat moves a ton.
No, it shouldn’t move around when locked. I’ve seen reviews of that too but we haven’t had a single issue. And if we did, I’d call Cybex for a replacement! But when she’s in the locked position, she doesn’t move around!
I’m not sure about that and if there’s a place you could test it out from a store first I’d recommend that! The seat itself isn’t super bulky but with the load leg it is
@@paulasimmons3593 I have a wrangler and I’m struggling to get the loading leg secure. But it fits!.. I’m questioning if the bucket seat being so slanted is the problem
You want to test that with your non-dominant hand on the bottom sides of the seat (not up my the head rest). Ours hardly moves but any car seat should not move more than an inch!
I just got the car seat yesterday night. However, there’s a good amount of play between the seat and the base when in the locked position. The seat would rattle and move against the base. I am not sure if this is due to the design of the swivel mechanism or if this particular one is loose. Do you have the same problem? And thank you for your great reviews!!
Not at all! When the seat in is in the lock position, there’s no movement. I’ve heard their customer service is awesome so definitely give them a call! Hopefully it’s just an install issue that way you don’t need a replaced seat but I’m sure they’ll help you out either way!
I saw in the video w your daughter in the car seat that you use a backseat protecter cushion. Where did you get that? We bought the Sirona S. Thx as always for your review!
So does it swivel even when the child is ready to change to forward facing? (Asking because I read on another reviewers comments that you can't swivel the carseat after you change them to forward facing)
I first assumed you could but then when thinking about it more, you probably can’t realistically. There’s a back tether when they’re forward facing so to undo and redo that every car seat change, would not be worth it in my opinion. So we wouldn’t be able to swivel after forward facing. I will say once they are FF, it’s so much easier to get them in the car seat and allows much more room to get them buckled so it’s not a huge loss losing the swivel feature imo
This is a world more useful! The Rava is a great seat and well made. But so is the Cybex + added safety features + a swivel seat + a cheaper price tag. I’d pick the Sirona S over the Rava for any car that can accommodate it!

Thank you for replying! I wish it wasn’t so vague... what would a “smaller infant” be considered?! I tried calling Cybex directly and their customer service line went to a voicemail then dropped the call. A bit frustrating. I have the car seat and love it but a little more direction would be nice.
DONT BE DUPED LIKE I WAS. That swivel feature sounds amazing, but they don’t tell you that once your child is forward facing, the proper installation (with the tether), eliminates the swivel feature. Just bought this for my toddler and was pretty irritated to find out that the swivel won’t work for his configuration. HEADS UP!
When I bought this I was not aware that the swivel feature only works in the rear-facing position. So that only lasted about 14 months and now it’s back to a regular car seat that wobbles more than others. I would not recommend this car seat to others.
Did you get a different car seat or are you still using this one? I don’t see how a baby could be comfortable sitting forward facing with the safety bar in the front
@D G we are still using it but in the forward position with NO swivel feature. Such misleading advertising bc this car seat will only swivel if facing rear and that only last a limited time. Once the kids are starting to get heavy you can no longer swivel it. No issues with a bar that you speak of. Bar will be between their legs.
Great review!!! Would you recommend buying an infant car seat or a convertible car seat? I'm stuck between buying a Nuna Pipa Lite R infant car sear or this car seat.
That’s a tough one! I’d say it depends when babe would be born. If it’s winter time, that infant carrier will help shield them from extreme temps and make your life easier too! If you’re only getting one I’d lean towards the Cybex because it’ll last you so many years!
Show the wobble this car seat produces. Install it tight...and it still wobbles like crazy at the top because of the swivel feature. Im horrified how much it wobbles compared to regular car seats. Im in process of returning it.
Mine has never wobbled so I would have nothing to show🤷🏻♀️ I’ve seen others have this issue but fortunately we didn’t. I’d either reach out for a replacement or return it. But I would never jeopardize my child(ren)’s safety for the sake of a video.
Love all your reviews and have been dying to watch a review of this seat that’s not just the companies selling them. Question, may seem silly, but is your baby comfortable in it? Yay! Happy to help momma! She is definitely comfy but like you said it is a bit more rounded. We had a Nuna Rava with Remi and that was more of a straight back. So she was sitting upright a lot more than Lexi in the Sirona S. I think the highest setting for rear facing is pretty good on the Sirona but if he doesn’t like sitting back at all it may not be the right seat😕
According to the National Safety Council 54% are left unintentional, 27% of kids gain access on their own, and 18% are knowingly left in the car. So most are actually unknowingly left in the car. You can view it as sad, I'll view it as life saving.
All reviews should be like this. Objective, to the point and concise and opinionated. Will order this.

How sad that they made a car seat to remind a parent they have a child. Most parents intentionally leave their kids in a hot car.
According to the National Safety Council 54% are left unintentional, 27% of kids gain access on their own, and 18% are knowingly left in the car. So most are actually unknowingly left in the car. You can view it as sad, I'll view it as life saving.
