Either way, Henry enjoyed most of the sleepover and chased Rude Ralph when he found out what the latter did.
Somethings I have to say about book Ralph and Henry. The teasing and nicknames is pretty standard for a couple of 8 year old boys. I knew some boys who showed affection by physically fighting. Not inviting Henry to his birthday party…could you imagine Ralph’s parents allowing a notorious troublemaker into their house? Wealthier families have a standard they want to live up to and Henry definitely does not fit that standard.
This is one of the reasons people ship Ralph and Henry Because they actually CARE about each other, they're compassionate towards each other but blunt with each other They aren't afraid to be honest, even it hurts That is a good trait to have, especially in a friendship with somebody with someone who has parents like Henry
I think you misunderstood their relationship, The birthday thing is the only oddity here but actually they are fantastically written boy characters. Their constant making fun of each other even with things that really wind each other up is exactly what lads do from even a very young age. These are quite literally boys being boys. These friendships walk last a lifetime.
