I always knew his mother was problematic. In one episode Peter found this worm on the garden wall that he was obsessed with and Henry accidentally sat on it and the whole family, the mum especially, acted like Henry had purposefully done something wrong when he hadnt. There was another episode where Henry was told to charge the iPad overnight and he did but it turned out fluffy and fang were using it and drained the battery and of course in the morning his mum blamed Henry for the iPad being Dead. Any attempt he made to defend himself got him yelled at even more. Theres sooo many more examples but I don't want this comment to drag. This show is both nostalgic and sad at the same time.

I always look at this show in a similar way as Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein; or The Modern Prometheus". In the story, despite the doctor selecting its features to be beautiful, upon animation the Monster is instead hideous, with dull and watery yellow eyes and yellow skin that barely conceals the muscles and blood vessels underneath. Repulsed by his work, the doctor flees. While wandering the streets the next day, he meets his childhood friend, and takes him back to his apartment, fearful of his friend's reaction if he sees the Monster. However, when the doctor returns to his laboratory, the creature is gone. From then and there, chaos and destruction ensues until the doctor is found chasing his creation through the artic blizzard. Horrid Henry is the show's Frankenstein Monster: he is terrible in his own way, but it's the people that brought him into this world who is to blame. His parents are a modern day horror that throws their child under the bus to save face and appear as good parents, despite the fact that, well, they aren't. Just like Kid vs Kat, abuse (whether it is directed towards animals or people) is no laughing matter, and mean-spiritedness shouldn't teach children morals. If we ignore a disciplinarian disguised as a professor, we can live whatever childhood dream we want and have the freedom to choose, think, and speak for ourselves.

The one I remember watching that tops it was ‘the revenge files of Alister Fury’! It was on cbbc and was also a book series first like “horrid” Henry. Can’t believe these shows were ever allowed.. I always noticed the drawing on the refrigerator where Henry is seen isolated from his family so I guess I’m one of those eagle-eyed viewers.

I haven’t seen this cartoon but I have heard of the character. Video is a good start. Some improvements with comedic timing can help but you’ll get there with more practice.

Henry is a very creative child and in episodes where he's allowed to be creative he thrives like the go kart episode with his dad he worked his ass off making it. They should see when it's something he's really interested in henry works hard they should encourage his dreams because they should know he'd genuinely work hard at it

What's also really sad henry really loves his mother despite this. Where in one episode she's not there for the whole day and he hugs her saying he missed her yet she treats him like that still it's sad

When i watched this when i was young, i never noticed it. Now, it all sticks out like a sore thumb, in plain sight
