Vegetable Pakora | The Best Spinach & Potato Pakora Recipe
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 бер 2021
- I love Pakoras especially when they are crispy and crunchy, and when I take my first bite and they are super soft and fluffy on the inside. Pakoras are not only eaten on special occasions, but can be enjoyed any time of the day and my perfectly spiced Spinach & Potato Pakoras are a wonderful accompaniment to a hot cup of chai, or as a starter for a nice meal for guests.
Make these to enjoy with family and friends, during a meal, as a snack, or as a festive feast served up during the month of Ramadan, these will go down a treat.

Hi Shazma found you by accident really but loving it so I’m a new subscriber , just wondering where do you get all your Indian utensils from ?? I love no adore Indian food but can’t seem to find anything good to cook stuff in the only thing I have which is brilliant is a Birmingham Balti bowl x
Hi Paul, thanks for your comment & for subscribing! I buy really heavy based pots to cook in from wherever I can find them if I'm honest. Tkmax & Homesense is were most of them are from as I've a ceramic hob so need special ones that can work on my hob. Try the above two stores and see what you can find! 😊
Iv made 3 meals now shamza from your you tube channel, all 3 turned out amazing, thank you so much for sharing you skills and talent with us😊
My pleasure 😊 thank you
I like your presentation.I like pakoray and tried to fry them a couple of times but could not make them nice. I will try your method and add yogurt like you did. Again your presentation is nice.

Hi
Thank you for making this video. My family loved it when I made them (1st attempt)
Question- Can I make the batter late evening and leave in the fridge over night to cook the following morning?
Thank you 😊
Hi Tazeem, thank you for your comment. Great to hear this was well recieved. You can but please be aware the mixture does become runny. Which may cause difficulty when coming to fry the pakoras. You can prep the veg etc and place the dry ingredients into the besan the night before and then mix it up before you fry. I don't recommend mixing it up and placing the wet batter in the fridge.
Thank you x
I always add 1 cup of self raising flour to 3 cups of besan and I add ajwain seeds. Yours looked and sounded nice..
Thanks 😊
Thank you! They look & sound deliciously moorish!! Will definitely be giving these a try ❤️ You should open a cooking school, preferably in my area 🤣 xx
PJ Cash, they were totally divine! Now that sounds like a plan! 😉 where are you based if you don't mind me asking! 😊👍
@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes I’m living in Blackburn since I married but from Shaw, Oldham originally. I can tell you’re from these parts too!! A Lancashire lass👍🏻❤️xx
Ahh we are neighbours 😉 and yes you guessed right! I'm from Preston!
Do you have any air fryer recipes? 💕 We got one recently and are excited to use it for things we usually deep fry or pan fry.
Hi Fozia, not at the minute as I don't have room in my kitchen for an air fryer.
Hi there can u make the pakistani brown rice
Awesome...Can you show us different chutneys...and dips...especially tamarind...Thank You....😊😊😊
Got one coming soon 😊👍
Making these right now. First time attempt, wish me luck 😁
Thank you i will make them. i saw these pakoras in a video made by a
Enjoy 😉
Thanks for the video
Have a question for you please....did you use Chic pee flour or something different???Appreciate your response.
Am running a restaurant in Ghana 🇬🇭 and I love your way of getting things done please can you send me some of your cooking videos
Thank you. You can view my videos on my channel 😊👍
This one is Healthier option as you’ve added spinach. I am planning on mix veg in avocado oil today !
Hope you like it!
Hi Shamza, is it full fat yogurt and any specific kind? I'm new to cooking and would love to try make this recipe. Greetings from Scotland ❤️
Hello Kirsty, it was the Lancashire Farm greek yoghurt. Enjoy! These are just 😘
@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes thank you so incredibly much for letting me know! I can't wait to make it. I hope you are well ❤️
How come this ain’t on your channel … please can you update your vegetarian playlist… thank ❤️🙏🏽
Could you freeze the mixture and defrost and make the pakoras another day? Or would that ruin the mixture?
Hi Fozia, thanks for your comment. You may cut, bag and freeze the veg but unfortunately not the entire mixed batter as it will become too runny.
Can you share your recpie of creamy fruit chaat
Coming soon 😊
Can these be made ahead of time and reheated in an airfryer?
They can yes.
Made them, serves Coconut chutney, they vanished, amazin*. Forgot to weigh them! Now I have to make them for the mosque, don’t know how much to make for 70 people. Any idea about the weight of the pakoras plz? Thanks
Besides the cumin seeds and coriander seeds, no spices are needed (besides salt and bit of red chilli poweder), try it! it's more tasty.
I've always struggled w/ Pakora recipes that tell you to just add all the veg in a bowl and THEN add the basan and spices and water and mix the whole thing up. Making a batter and THEN adding the veg seems like a genius hack. I'll be doing mine this way from now.
Thanks!!
Trust me John, this method is the easiest and best by far as the batter consistency is controlled.
@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes I'm making them right now, and the first batch are frying, and I can already tell this is THE hack.
Thanks so much.
I'll come back w/ taste results, but I can see they are gonna be awesome.
OMG!!!! AMAZING!!!!! The coriander and cumin make all the difference, and the batter is RIDICULOUS!!!
You are Da Man!!!
I used to work for an Indian family run leisurewear company in the Midlands many years ago. Every so often a big box of samosas and pakoras would appear in the kitchen. I was told they were left over from a wedding or some other celebration, but I suppose they could've been specially bought for the staff as well. I'd be back and forth from my work station to the kitchen getting some for me and the bloke I worked with😆 Just so moorish. Great times, the ladies in the sewing room just loved me as I was learning punabi off them, they'd be laughing. I started work there 'paatala' but ended up leaving 'mutta'.
Took me years to burn off that food! 🤣
Can this be made with plain flour?
Loved reading this!! Im afraid that is exactly what happens when you develop a love for desi food. 😊👍 No as the gram flour batter is what makes the pakore and cannot be achieved with plain flour.
Hi I'm new to your Chanel.....I'm salivating right now. Your videos are sooo good. You make it really easy to follow. Thank you for sharing.
I luv you for making me understand properly i your English is super 👌
Thanks Esther 😊
At my local Indian cafe, they have more batter and way less veggies to be cheap.
Lol 😁
Don’t some people add baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) for fluffiness.
Hi Majestic, thank you for your comment. Yes you are correct. They do but what I feel is that even though the pakoras are soft and fluffy they don't turn crispy on the outside. Also they seem to brown very quickly and turn dark in colour as opposed to the ones were you add yoghurt.
I tried these but as additional I added..fried onions that you can buy in a packet ...... they did turn out more crunchy then I anticipated.....
yes the fried onions would probably over cook a little, I've not tried that though.
Easier to mix with your hands. Look yummy 😋
Why yogurt is added in pakora , what it does ?
Hi, the yoghurt gives a nice soft fluffy texture inside whilst the outside is nice and crispy.
I'm still getting the insides a bit raw. Outside crispy and golden brown. Any suggestions?
You oil is too hot. Get it hot, add your pakoras in and after adding maybe 3/4 lower your heat setting to medium. Add the remaining batch and allow to cook on meduin until they have held their shape. Then turn the heat on medium high and cook until nice and crispy. The key is to keep them moving in the hot oil after they've held their shape of course.
Hi why did u add yogurt?
Not keen on spinach. Any suggestions as an alternative?
Paul, you may leave the spinach out and just make them, they'll still absolutely delicious.
@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes Thank you. I'll give it a try :)
Can you do this with fish?
I dont see why it shouldn't work with fish. Try it and let me know too 😊👍
@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes thank you. What type of fish should I use?
Shamsa what’s the diff between this vid and your baji recipe - I know people come them diff things . For example I call them pakora but my Indian in-laws call them bajias
U not add salt
The batter is way too thick.
No green chili
You can add them in if you wish.
R u Punjabi?
Yes
Be a lot more sensible if the potato was not cut like a chip.
You can cut them however you like. I just like them cut like that as it shapes the pakora nicely.
U not add salt
