- The fastest car we've ever explored on South African Icons and the hardest accelerating, the Ford Perana V8.
This is one of the most special cars in world and was produced by a South African manufacturing company called Perana motors.
A Ford approved Ford Perana V8 could be purchased from South African Ford dealers from anywhere in the country.
Please don't forget to tell us about your experiences with this South African muscle car and what you've like to see next.
Also don't forget to subscribe and like.
I saw one of these leave a set of traffic lights (Robots) in East London, Eastern Cape, in 1975. It made the tyres howl every time it changed gear. Etched into my memory forever.
You're a lucky man to have sent one of these beauties.
Really nice! I remember arriving at my sister’s in Joburg in ‘79 and seeing my first genuine 3.0 V6 Cortina, We never had them in the U.K. - I was blown away at that time, and I’m still a Ford fanboy now 40 years later!
Mum had a stock standard 1969 Capri in British racing green…. Best car ever!!!
South africa knows how to make a muscle car legend😎
We feel the same way!
Just amazing to know all of this first time I saw Capri perana was in Upington show I was as little boy back then can still remember as it was yesterday thank s to all of you guys
There are many more videos of South African Classics that you gna love!
The Holden Monaro v8 cars that was made in South Africa.
The Holden Monaro GTS I remember them well in the early seventies and the Chev SS , not the American one the Australian version.
The 308 Australia Holden engine was very slow
I was saving for a Capri Perana when I lived in J’burg in the 70s but had to return to the U.K. before the dream happened then had to make do with the 3 litre V6 over here still fun but not a Perana!
You can still get one today, it'll cost significantly more, though.
We have a Capri Perana. You can even find it in the German Magazine. If you want more shoots if the car and sound feel free to contact me

It's not finished yet
It was tested in Europe. They didn't sell it there, because the RS 2600 was already dangerous.
One can only imagine! lol, Sorry you guys didn't receive this!
Cup ree..
😆
Cupree!
How can you do a feature on a car and not take the time to learn how to pronounce the name?
Unfortunately, I speak 7 Languages, and neither is English or French my mother tongue. Thank you for the advice, we're learning with time.
What the hell is a cup-ree?
It's a "Capri". Did you watch the video?
@@nothingordinarymedia Well say it like that then! Capri....not cup-ree. 🤣🤣🤣
@@mazambane286 Thank you for the feedback.
@@nothingordinarymedia No problem 👍
CUP REE SOUTH AFRICAN SLANG
Do you wear a CAP or a CUP on your head........Likewise, its a CAPRI not a CUPRI.......My apologies, I'm just a fussy Petrolhead that love old cars.....🤣
Apologies Sean I speak 7 languages and English isn't my first language.
0-100 KILOMETERS PH that is - not MPH
In South Africa, our metrics system uses Kilometers per hour.
