As a BM fan wasnt sure what to expect. WOW!! This band really has it going on. A nice dark sound, melodic as hell and beautiful melodys. Plus xtra touches that really fine finishes the entire album. Thumbs up to excellence.

This is the closest thing to new Katatonia I’ve ever heard and it is absolutely EXCEPTIONAL without being anywhere near a copy… The production is stellar - and every single track is mindblowing. This is the new genre of music that needs to capture the worlds attention. The “female” vocals on the first song are just amazing. I thank God that there is music this beautiful in my life.
1- They are trying so hard to sound exactly like Katatonia
2- It's not a 'New Genre of music'. this type of music was already present in the 90's
@@Therionsylar I agree. This echoes Tonight's Decision a lot (harmonies, delays) and some Last Fair Deal Gone Down (mostly in the drumming).
Although this type of music had been around for a while, it didn't really get mainstream attention yet.
Still I enjoy this.
I discovered Valkiria at the age of 17 back in high school through MySpace. I still love it at the rotting age of my thirties. The first song I listened to was following the dream and then Of Dreams and Pain. I will never forget the beauty, the sadness, and the hidden hope that I heard in the songs.
"rotting" age of thirties ?! Oh come on ! You're still spry and vigorous. Wait till you're past 40...and even over 70 ! 30's are too young to use the word "rotting".
This is really good. Exactly the music I needed today!
Awesome work. Really liked.
Great atmospheric stuff! High quality!
Listening to this album I feel ghosts in the forest, I love the cool ethereal, otherworldly sound tethered to an earthen background
Amazing album
Espectacular, me ecnantó este cd. lo vivo escuchando.
muy buena banda, se siente la fuerte influencia de katatonia, excelente
Amzing album
very nice!
❤❤❤❤❤
Oh my god! So pleased I've stumbled across this. Love it!!! I'm a huge Katatonia fan and I can hear influences across these songs. Going to buy some physical CDs of theirs!
funny to think these guys have been around since before katatonia
They have very strong Katatonia influence. I find alot of Katatonia to sad to listen too. But copy of dbl. Brave Murder Day/ Funerals To Come. I keep forever. This band is magnificent. Track 5 I hear Kat..big time. They r almost more awesome than K. Got to have this cd.
@Bigbody. Thanx for info. That tells me why I think Katatonia was influenced by Valkiria. This band is AMAZING. This coming frm stone cold BM fan!
@@b.b.2071 Nope. Katatonia first record: 1993 (Dance of December Souls). Valikiria's first demo: 1996.
Valikiria's 2nd demo: 2004.
In 2004 Katatonia had already released Brave Murder Day, Discouraged Ones, Tonight's Decision, Last Fair Deal Gone Down and Viva Emptiness.
Unless you are trying to say the band members are older than the band members of Katatonia, you are mistaken. ;-) Or mixing up bands, since there is also a Valkyria and a Valchiria.
@@dead2802 @B.B. Valkiria's demo in from 1996 and is far more rooted in black metal (and not sounding like Katatonia) than this record. 1996 is the year Katatonia released Brave Murder Day. (Dance of December Souls was released in 1993.) Valkiria's 2nd demo was released in 2004 (they were inactive due to a lack of a drummer), so that was after Tonight's Decision, The Last Fair Deal Gone Down and Viva Emptiness.
And even the 2004 release Thur Kuarankharn Sthorn doesn't sound like Katatonia from 1999-2003. (Some might argue you can sometimes hear BMD or DoDS like things on it, but I think that is nitpicking. It is a solid black metal record.)
So it is pretty sure that Valkiria was inspired by Katatonia and not the other way around.
And there is no shame in that.
Excelente banda, muy buenas influencias aunke la voz chacal es más de mi agrado pero imagino que la evolución los hace más técnicos
I miiss you to gothic
I like gothic metal never heard of these guys before but they sound pretty good !!!! They sound orginal
You should check out Katatonia. Especially from Discouraged Ones till Viva Emptiness, because Valkiria is heavily influenced by those records.
Any chance we could get the lyrics to Protective Chant? Also, buying all your albums next week!
I absolutely love this album, anyone know similar artists ?
Katatonia. Listen to some earlier Opeth. And Alcist. (Opeth blackened death so not real similar but always thought the 2 compliment each other).
Katatonia: Tonight's Decision. That is the album closest to this, IMO.
The vibe here is just great!
Me gustaron casi todas las canciones menos "No More Air To Breath". Buena banda :)
YeS!! S the other one coming up?
yes soon
2046.
Самый АХУЕННЫЙ звук!
I miiss you to gothic
