    Ding lost spectacularly to Artemiev yesterday in the semifinals after a major of blunder. I think that was in the back of his mind making him want to redeem himself by pulling off a spectacular attack. Magnus was smart to understand the psychology and play the player. He was able to defuse his attack.

    • @imaginephoenix977
      @imaginephoenix977 3 роки тому

      Magnus can even defuse engines attack, what's hard with humans? He is champion of chess after all. In his one interview we got to know that Magnus trains himself without engines help. Other players like Dubov, Wesley train themselves with engines yet losses with Magnus. This proves Magnus can even defuse engines attacks tranquilly. Ding lost Consecutively 2 games. He attacked Magnus, that was his biggest mistake. In fact, white pieces should be the one to attack first but Ding became impatient thus he losses. Magnus, after his long journey of chess, knows patience should be given significance and wait for opponent to make mistakes, on the other hand, sometimes he even losses, but he's best.

      Ding would just take the Rook
      If Magnus took back, Ding would take the rook with his queen, which would be check(the bishop would be no longer guarding it), and then would be able to move his rook to safety on the next move, so Ding would be up a rook.
      If Magnus instead took the other rook, Ding would take the second white rook with check, and then after the white queen takes back, he would take the bishop with his queen. this would leave Ding up a bishop.
