I believe it's 2005 to current. Great work. Take notes boys this is how a true craftsman operates.
Great content nice shop. I remember what my dad told me when I came home from the Marine Corps 1978. I was going to build my own house and he said don’t make the same mistake we all do. Build your shop make sure you have the facility to make you a proper living then build that house. He was right built my shop used it to build a house make a living send 4 children and a wife to college. If being your own boss and making your living doing it then a proper shop has to be step one.
Wymer’s Handy Man Service well said!
Any off-roading and it will still rub. I had to knock back the pinch weld which I sprayed with a 3M product for water proofing, remolded the fender liner with a heat gun, trimmed back the plastic on that outside edge you were showing, add finally added more caster to the UCA. It's a process.
Glad to see your doing well, that new table is sick!!
I just did some welding today. I love welding. I do horrible with not a single lesson and using a Harbor freight MIG. Then I come in for the day and see your really nice welds and realize I REALLY suck lol.
You might as well start building complete custom cars for people. ... anybody watching your channel for sometime would see the work ethic and transparency on everything you do.
As usual you did a awesome job 👏🏻 I really like your new shop 😬👍
This is what I want a flat bed for, thank you for your build vids!
Nice work man, always enjoy your vids.
2005 through current Tacoma's need the cab mount chop so lots of potential customers there haha
Maybe cut out and weld up a diamond or octagonal stack with the Cummins “C” cut out of it to where you can see through the stack? Just an idea. Awesome video as usual 👌
That would be sick! Definitely like the idea of an octagonal stack
Nice and simple fix. Love it.
Man seeing your old shop in vids from b4 and now old looks small nice video keep them comming
really clean metal work 👍
Great ideas and great fabrication/skills!!
Loving the content man! Keep it up!
Love the content man, your welds are really clean
Keep up the Great work. Great Video.
Another idea for the plasma table is the Yamaha banshee grill inserts they make every different kind out there you could make whatever for them
The 5th gen 4runner as well . I'll have to get mine from you next year . Great job man 🇨🇦
Your new shop is sweet man. That's what I wanted to have before I got married....she's worth it! Lol
figifister is she though lol? Sometimes I wonder 😂
@@weldingjunkie lol right
Damn you do good work man, you deserve way more subs
Looks great.
Hell yeah a yotaaaaa
Walter wheels are the shit 😎
Nice job!
Second gen rear bumper 🤘🏽😁
Nice new shop
Things we do to look cool.
Diversity is how u make money 💰👍 good hustle guy
Having removed and installed my fair share of service bodies, I would love to see how the manufactuer those frame mounts, crossmembers and such, they are always the strangest shapes.
Just ordered your BMC plates for my tundra. Cant wait to get some tuning for my 06 5.9L mega cab
I can't wait to get my 6 position tune from you for my 05 Commons.!
Love the new shop and maybe some ladder bar tabs and mounts for us diesel truck guys haha
Yeah definitely will get some traction bar brackets on the go.
Awesome work, if possible the owner should dial in more caster to puush that wheel up more to gain additional clearance between the cab mount
Lol nice, I have that same grinder 👌
The other vehicle you are probably thinking of is the 4Runner if I’m not mistaking they have the same drivetrain.
Company I worked for, for about a year-1/2 used the exact same program, drawing and cutting. But when our plasma would cut off we would have to rerun the whole plasma from start. 🤦🏼♂️ It was a pain but I sure do miss it.
SWEET
I did the exact same thing a few months back.
but made my own plates
Yeah I would have made my own plates too but they where supplied.
A trick i use to steal accurate dimensions off stuff is take 1-3 axis worth of straight on pictures with a tape measure laying somewhere near for scale. You can drop them onto the different origin planes in whatever CAD program, scale them up or down using the tape measure, then just trace the shape. I've used it to quick mock up circuit boards for component clearance; its pretty handy.
Yup that's exactly what I did!
Nice grinder on the desk haha
Awesome
if you lived closer id have you do mine . great job
I need pair of those plates. Need to do my cmc.
No way you can use mudflaps. The purpose of a cab mount chop is to gain clearance. Mudflaps reduce that clearance. Can’t run them unless you want rubbing.
Lmao I got one missing mud flap on my 2012 Tacoma used but seriously only 3!
How much are the cummins logo cutouts like what is on the plasma table
you should wrap a wet rag around the body bushing {if you don't remove it} when you weld it. It'll save the bushings, just keep an eye on the rag to make sure it hasn't dried out from the heat.
Nice work. What band are u always listening too in the shop?
Nice work!, What size are those tires?
It seems that in order to duplicate the original Toyota structure , you should make your plates with slots in the shape of that square portion on the bottom and plug weld through the slots.
Curious if the rubbing issue was fixed completely, I noticed what I thought was wear marks on the mud flaps and rubbing on plastic is often louder than metal. Did the mud flap tabs you built let it mount further back at all?
That's what I found on my '09 Chevrolet 2500. I was getting all kinds of awful noise from the tires rubbing at full turn, and it sounded like a hard metal rub, but I finally figured out it was just a little flap of plastic. Made a hell of a racket.
Awesome vid how much did you charge the customer interested in doing this to my taco
Do you know what type of steel is the plate you are welding? And, do you know how well the cabin mount will be reinforced after welding that plate? I believe the bottom steel plate of that cabin mount is ultra high strength steel of 780 MPa, while the top cup steel is high strength steel of 440 MPa. That is some special steel that you can't just simply weld on, as the weld heat will turn the HSS into mild steel. When one gets hit from a front corner angle, and into the cabin, that cabin mount is the thing that helps the cabin from being destroyed really bad, and the legs from being crushed, from the corner hit. Any info on that plate that you bought and the procedure? Been looking into this mod., as well. Thank you.
Are you selling the metal cummins C?
You should print out some cummins duramax and powerstroke plates in various sizes. In steel and aluminum. If you did a cummins I’d buy one in aluminum and weld it to my flatbed.
Sure I could do that. No powerstrokes tho
Optimal Welding hahahah. “No powerstrokes though”😂😂🙃
Great job!! You sound just like Steve Buscemi.
Sorry I,am new but at 0:02 do you always have a spare transmission for you Cummins???
My truck has nv5600, thats just a 47re im building for another truck
paxton gardner hahahah. He has to carry a spare because it’s a dodge. Haha. I’m not a hater. It’s all fun and game s 🙃
Is there anything you can't do? Lol
Where can I get a set of those plates?
Dude Toyotas are maybe the most well made vehicles, but they can't be compared to a Cummins.
What do you charge for something like this? Being it’s not a huge job it would seem to take more time then its worth.
Usually 80-100 plus tabs around Florida.
Hey how do I get a set of these plates from you looks like they will work on a Gx470 I'm working on
Send me an email! Optimalwelding@gmail.com
Where’d you learn to weld?
Hey bro I was wondering about your 6 position tunes. I got a 04 Cummins and wondering if you could set one up and ship it to me. How much would that run. 2004 Cummins completely stock. Thanks bro really like your videos
Sure man send me an email. Optimalwelding@gmail.com
What color is this truck?
get a scanner and you can scan that shit right into fusion or corel. easy peasy.
where are you located? i would want to have this done on my truck
Cranbrook
Dude don’t touch it !
i wonder how much that costs
You would assume that whoever has the skills and tools to install those plates would also be able to make their own without buying them.
Sounded like the owner of the Toyota brought them to the shop with him to install.
Exactly what I thought. They where supplied though so saved me a little work.
Your voice changes from Australian to Californian, like elon musk
I would have found a way of welding (incorporating) that (looks to b 1- 1/4") tubing into the new plate, for added strength. Don't think I'd like it just floating around on the other side of that new plate.
Just Saying.
He’s got a fat grinder on his ‘puter table
That’s why you don’t put big ass tires on that pos
why does that little tire rub matter.. if it was rubbing bad the paint would be worn...you won't own that truck long enough that it would make any difference
Nice work, but the owner of this truck must hate warrenty. They've void everything
Mud flaps look like shit anyway!
Song at 7:40?
Diff covers are a good one. A 3/8 plate fabricated diff cover can take a beating. Ask me how I know.....
Great idea!
Owen Arsenault as long as it has proper bends and radius for the ring gear to lube properly.
@@Sackmatters I never had problems with lubrication.
Owen Arsenault if it’s a almost strictly off-road rig I doubt it’ll cause issues but me running a 1 ton pickup pulling around my gooseneck. Things tend to get quite warm if they don’t flow smoothly.
@@SackmattersThey did go a offroad truck, I made them so they held 1 liter more oil. Never had a problem
4 dislikes. ??? How 😮
I hope you used the boosted Lincoln for this job. 🙃
I would have if i was outside
:( Where's The Cummins Content?!?
With a picture of the Cummins logo I am disappointed the Toyota wasn't Cummins powered.... or being "chopped up" to install a Cummins engine!!! Very misleading.
