I don't care about driver size. I've come to learn that throw/travel and enclosure can matter just as much.
But wired with a clean source is better than any wireless. 👍

Same here! Can't say exactly what, but there's something missing with earbuds shoving sound directly into the ear canal, not to mention the prominent sound signature of each pair of earbuds.
Large driver headphones (both open & closed back) sound quite natural & transparent to my ears.
Plus, you can't use genuine leather foam cushion earpads with earbuds 😂😂

you should try some ACTUAL IEMS for stage use, i was very impressed by isolation. Also the cords mean you don't need fancy chargers or anything. I have a set of 3m work tunes i use in the wood shop, they have bluetooth but often i will just put them on over the IEMs and i get something like 35db of noise reduction between the two. I personally loath anything that doesn't have the option for wired connection. Bluetooth just doesn't have a range i find useful so id rather be plugged in and carry my device without having to worry about battery life or where i set my phone down.

This video is an advertisement for a racon clone, these are not in ear monitors, and you sound foolish calling them such. These are earbuds. Calling something an IEM implies a certain level of isolation and a reference level of sound quality that is not possible when a bluetooth connection is involved.

HexiBase , for me, it becomes the point when you go for custom molded sets. There are several players in the market. Jerry Harvey, who has mixed monitors for just about every big name you can think of, invented them for the most part and has been involved in the business since the mid 90s. He worked with Westone for the pair he first built for Alex Van Halen and for others there after. Then he started Ultimate Ears with his ex-wife. Somewhere in the crash and burn of a divorce they sold out to Logitech. After the waiting period was over, he started Jerry Harvey Audio with his daughter. If you want full on, no holds barred custom, speak with Jerry. After that, any of the big guys are acceptable, it just depends on budget and what sound you like. Jerry made me an offer I couldn’t refuse years ago for some great ears so I bought them. You can start there. He’s a honest and fairly direct fellow. In the old days, pre-COVID, you could go to any number of audio shows, like Rocky Mountain in Denver and they hold Can-Jams where you can test them out. Hopefully one day that will return. IEMs are like speakers, but only more so. Each person has a favorite and an opinion. The numbers only go so far to describe the experience.

It becomes clear if you google iem and then earbud, ill let you do your own research.
An iem is to earbuds what studio monitors are to to bookshelf speakers. Both play audio, one is engineered to a tighter spec and designed for professional use.
IEMs also tend to sit further into your ear than earbuds, like an ear plug. They are also designed to fit your ear well and offer as much isolation as possible.
Serious gigging musicians get them custom molded to their ears for a perfect fit and improved isolation.
IEMs really just shine when monitoring is required in a high decibel environment. Basically hearing protection with speakers built in.
And IEMs certainly don't have consumer features like batteries or bluetooth.

IDK, what kind of a comparison baseline do you have? I spend quite a bit of time in Panasonic Ergofit HJE125. Not because they have an amazing sound - they don't - but because they don't annoy me, i can't feel them in my ears due to a squished ear canal spout shape, but they don't fall out either, and they don't have any sibilant sharpness or any part of the range sticking out like a sore thumb. They sound... adequate. There is always something wrong with any other so far. There are for sure many cheap in-ears that are rated higher in "audiophile" circles but they tend to be unobtanium, random flukes. These Ergofit are not very detailed, i blame intermodulation distortion, i think getting clean sound out of a motor and membrane this small is plain impossible. I'm thinking of getting QKZ VK4 though. Even maybe some of the China balanced armature hybrids, even though i expect to find the experience objectionable. Then again i also have JBL YurBuds Inspire 500 that i just found one day in trash and picked them up and cleaned them up - wouldn't have paid for them - which can get pretty detailed, but lack musicality, and a set of store-brand true wireless for 25€, which i expected to be total trash, but ended up not terribly hating, but again hardly something i'd recommend. From the description in this video, i am not 100% convinced that the Earfun is a significant upgrade from the latter as far as audio quality goes. By the way, DSP based response compensation is just a standard feature of true wireless chipsets, and the tuning of it is the only actual difference between numerous brands.
My preferred comfort and quality level - when i'm not listening to speakers - is delivered by on-ears. Even mediocre ones usually just wipe the floor with in-ears with detail and musicality. Sony's Walkman headphones from about 10-15 years ago are surprisingly good. Koss PortaPro are a bit coloured to my taste, but they're fine. I mostly use Urbanears Zinken and Yoga CD-68, and i listened to Marshall Major III and want to get those next. Also i'm not terribly fond of Bluetooth, i use it on the go for convenience, but whenever i can otherwise avoid it, i do, it's for sure a downgrade from even audibly sub-par cheap phone 3.5mm jacks and PC onboard chips, and you can do much better than that. Most 50mm headphones including Presonus Studio HD7 (made by Superlux) and ATH-M50 sound terribly grating to me with a painfully sharp sibilant resonance, so most of the ones i tend to prefer are around 40mm, even though typical 50mm constructions are lower-distortion with less excursion for a given SPL and a vented polepiece. Tried V-Moda LP2 the other week, and i was borderline angry, i was so disappointed by complete lack of musicality. It's like they emphasise all the noise and leave the actual music to rot in the shadow. By the way, i don't actually care about soundstage and localisation.
The measured response of these reminds me of the preferred headphone compensation, the Harman curve, published by researchers Sean Olive et al, it's probably what they used as a guideline, but i can see why you see a bit of Fletcher-Munson in there too, chances are, there's a bit of a relationship.

Headphones, hands down. Never Bluetooth (unless it just needs to be something practical, not for enjoyment), but high quality wireless is ok. Cool, I've never seen a measurement from a set of ear buds. Also hadn't heard of the equal loudness contour. Will read up on that. I have my car eq'd to the 'Harman' target (+9dB below ~60Hz, flat from 60 to about 2k, sloping down above 2k), and it's not my favorite. I think those dips at 1k and 4k in the equal loudness might help.

Even though I probably can't even hear the difference between a good pair of wireless and wired headphones I'm still going with wired especially since my phone has quite a decent DAC and amp (LG V20). At home I prefer my closed back over ears due to the better sound quality and comfort but on the move I use the cheapest wired JBL earbuds because I like the low bass those achieve and I don't feel like investing more into something that's just going to break in about 6 months anyways.

The earbuds have changed many many times over the years since they get the most use in non ideal conditions and I am always looking for better sound for times when I am not in a place I can use headphones as easily. I also changed from the kind that had a wire going in between the 2 earbuds to true wireless ones and have found a few that connected well and did not do dumb things like massively add bass for no good reason.

What would you have done if the Buds had turned out to be overpriced and underperforming clunky lumps of Marketing Jism...?
Would you have taken their money and blackballed their stuff in the resulting Clip..., or refused to take any money and stayed silent - or refused the money & made a Video about whyfore..., or perhaps even tripled their Fee to make a Video extolling the virtues of the Gadgets' great "Convenience...", while not mentioning any dud-features...?
I've reviewed a couple of Products myself lately, a cheap Chinesium Chainsaw which sets fire to the Wood while cutting it ("MTM Chainsaw Fire Hazard Demonstration ; Cutting Stringybark."), and then I used some Canadium "Bondic" to effectively Hand-held 3-D Print a UV-setting Plastic Gap-Filling Gusset - to fix a Chinesium Washing-Machine which had been shipped with 2 Righthand Back Legs...(inscrutable, them Chinamen...).
Surprisingly enough, the Washing-Machine (hand-cranked, with 2.5 to 1, & 5.5 to 1 Step-up Drives) is actually very efficient, and the Gap-Filler made of Canadium Plastic-Magic Juice "totally failed to Fail..." !

The alternative is that you end up in the situation where companies can shower UA-camrs in free stuff with huge monetary value but none of it has to be acknowledged because they're not paying them cash money.
"Endorsements are pieces of content created for an advertiser or marketer that contain a message that people are likely to believe reflects the opinions, beliefs or experiences of the content creator or endorser."
