My Italian grandmother in Tacony used to make fried dough -- heavily salted. In 1994, I went to The Big E, an annual carnival in Springfield, Mass. They had fried dough. I asked for salt, and they had no idea what they were talking about. Everything was powdered sugar, cinnamon.
I’ve actually never had a sweet/cinnamon soft pretzel. Who knew? Sounds tasty. But a plain soft pretzel with spicy deli mustard (and a beer) is my must-have snack at all football games. Fun video, kids 🥰
Great video and reaction. I'm from South Jersey and spent a lot of time in Philly and the Reading Terminal Market. Love soft pretzels but never had them with sugar or cinnamon. Always with salt and/or mustard. Love them, especially at sporting events.
Love Reading Terminal Market! Spataros is my favorite cheesesteak in all of Philly and it's suburbs! (Speaking as someone whose family has been in the Philly area since before the Revolutionary War....)
I don’t trust Daz’s preferences any more. At on point on the channel he said he didn’t like pretzels or donuts and here he is out here trying and liking both.
How the hell you didn’t get a regular pretzel. But I love you guys. Philly is an underrated great food city. A lot more than just good cheesesteaks here
@@americansmark I live here in Las Vegas cinnamon sugar is very popular with auntie Anne’s and wetzels pretzels. I didn’t know it wasn’t a thing because it’s probably the most popular here
Philly soft pretzels can't be beat. When I was growing up in the 80s in the city we had pretzel day in school every week or so and you could buy them 3 for a dollar.
Yasss!!! I’m a South Philly girl born and raised; I’m so glad you guys are at Reading Terminal and yes Miller’s has the best soft pretzel 🥨 You gotta try the ice cream place there…Bassets While you’re here in Philly please please please go to to Ricci’s for a hoagie and Angelo’s for your cheesesteak, both places are in South Philly (I know u already got a cheesesteak but get another one anyway)
Some places do various flavors, like garlic and parmesan, and sour cream and onion. Auntie Anne's Pretzel's is/was a mall mainstay and they did all kinds of great flavor combos. They didn't have the best pretzels but clever flavors. I like the cinnamon sugar ones, but the salted ones are great, with fresh squeezed lemonade...yum!
Great! I prefer the savory salt pretzel than the sweet ones. Soft Pretzels are very popular at sporting events and concert venues even movie cinema theaters, but the ones you get at sporting events and concert arenas or at the movies/ cinema are not fresh like the ones tried here. Freshly made soft pretzels are the best!
Those aren't Philadelphia pretzels, those are New York pretzels. Philadelphia pretzels are completely different. There's a store across from City Hall where you get back. Consider it a tourist pretzel.
I hate to pile on but yeah, you guys should’ve gone with a regular salted pretzel. It’d be like trying your first Philly cheesesteak and having it be made with buffalo chicken.
I've never tried a sweet soft pretzel before. Sounds interesting, but I don't even know if you can find sweet ones anywhere near me. I've never seen them before. Savory soft pretzels that are just salted and you dip them in cheese sauce or mustard is absolutely delicious.

What you guys were eating was not a traditional Philly pretzel. A traditional Philly pretzel only comes with salt, and its shape is more elongated. You can buy a single or a chain of five. Center City Pretzel in South Philly, which is in walking distance of Pat and Geno's, is a great place to try.
This is why we had to revolt against the British. You come to Philly and get a cinnamon sugar pretzel? SHAME you should've just gone to genos for your cheesesteak 😅😅😅

Never had pretzels before and you go for the sugar coated on? That's not the most common. Usually it's just a salted plain pretzel with either mustard or cheese sauce. I think even the pretzel dog would be better. I'm not a fan of the cinnamon sugar pretzels.

Missed out on the plain soft pretzel with cheese dip. Oh my word.
I can't believe they didn't order a "normal" pretzel. Salted with some mustard to dip it in.
