      Hi Yasin! We had a great time there and it brought back fond memories of being in Malaysian night markets. We wish there were more of these in Sydney. Thanks for watching!

      @@BucketListTravellers Hi there you guys. Glad to hear of your fond memories from Malaysia. This year, the open markets of Ramadan baazar are many more than the previous years. Few local food vloggers have filmed almost everyday from different locations since Ramadan started last Tuesday, and that are just around KL. Perhaps, there'll be more open markets in Sydney, Australia in the future. Otherwise, you guys just have to visit Malaysia again, hehe. 😀

      We are going to try and find a Malaysian market in Sydney (if it exists) and share that video too. Nothing beats the real deal in Malaysia though and we'll defintively be back for all the yummy food!

      @@BucketListTravellers All the best, maybe there are other open markets during Ramadan in Sydney. But if I'm not mistaken, Malaysian food does exists in Sydney, somewhere at the Asian street food center, I saw that few years ago from a video by an Indonesian couple who lives in Sydney. 😀

    Went there a couple of years ago and never again. The food was exy. Alot of people and long queues everywhere. There were many potato spiral on stick and quite expensive. Easy money. We saw this camel burger stall and they were halving the meat patties because there were lots of people queuing. I certainly hoped they did not charge normal price for half a patty.

    • @BucketListTravellers
      @BucketListTravellers  8 місяців тому

      Hi Ryan, we have to agree with you about the food being exy. Sadly it is just the reality of living in Sydney. You are also right about a lot of people being there and the queues. We found that the queues were good between 6pm-7:00pm and after that it got really busy. Thanks for watching!

      They are small businesses after all that are trying to make an earning and keep
      Up with inflation. We don’t realise that we’re spending an amount not very different to their pricing everytime we shop at our local supermarkets.

    Awesome video, guys! 👏🤗 I made the fatal mistake of watching it just before making dinner so am now both starving and deeply envious of all the delicious food 😋😊 I wonder what Mandi means as I noticed both an Al Mandi and a Mandi King! We really loved the murtabbaq in Saudi Arabia, but hadn't heard of some of the other dishes... so would love to check out the Lakemba Ramadan Night Market one day. Oh, the camel burger looked excellent - Lee would love that. I'd have gone for the Green Apple Tikka... I'm guessing there weren't many savoury plant-based options? Once again, an excellent video, and your editing skills are verging on professional now 👏🎉 ~ Mandy

    • @BucketListTravellers
      @BucketListTravellers  8 місяців тому

      😂😂 I reckon Mandi means awesome! 😜 Interesting question about the savoury plant based options. There were samosas, egg and vege murtabbaqs and vegetarian gozleme and the potato spirals were also very popular too. However I would say the majority of the food stalls, that weren't desserts, were meat based. Thanks as always for your lovely and encouraging comments Mandy! - Jon

    Kinda disappointed there is no Malaysian kiosk with nasi lemak and satay etc but thanks for the Malaysian shout out where you were introduced to murtabak 😊

      @BucketListTravellers  8 місяців тому +2

      🤣🤣 I was a little apprehensive about trying the camel burger as well, but it was pretty good! Yeah, we were surprised that we didn't see a Malaysian kiosk there. There was one Indonesian satay kiosk that we found at the end, but that was it sadly. I think that is a missed opportunity and I'm sure it would prove very popular, I'd be first in line for an ABC! I miss Malaysian murtabak too! Thanks for watching

      Hi @shubhajitbhowmik2687, thanks for the feedback, that is really pleasing to hear. We are using the DJI 2 mic in this video and found it to be awesome! Here is a link to it on amazon: amzn.to/4aUSI8z. This is an affiliate link, meaning that we may earn a small commission on purchases at no additional cost to you. Sound quality really makes or breaks a video and we found that out the hard way when we bought a cheap wireless microphone in Malaysia.

      Good question. There aren’t too many regular night markets to choose from in Sydney and something we need to dig into more. If you are around tonight (Friday), there is a weekly Chinatown night market in Haymarket. That is probably your best bet.

      Bolan Restaurant, Carlton North
      Pakistani restaurant, Bolan, is all aboard the buffet train for Iftar. There are two-dozen items in the line up, with the cost per head $42.99 for adults and $21.99 for kids between five and 11 years old. Start with snacks such as dahi bhalay (fritters soaked in curd), move onto mains - perhaps goat karahi (a gingery Pakistani curry) and chicken boti (marinated kebab) - before finishing with gulab jamun (syrup-soaked doughnut spheres made from milk solids). Chicken nuggets, pasta and chocolate mousse will keep kids (and fussy eaters) happy. Come back another time for brain masala.
