- A great review of a great tool the Poseidon MKVI Re breather. This was filmed about 5-6 years ago. Poseidon now has the SE7EN model rebreather.
Grandpas Farm - Going Sailing- was created to keep my family aware of my adventures and day to day.
I am selling the farm and will purchase a good used sailboat. I will fix up the boat while sailing around the world.
The voyage will be a journey of discovery. I will be naming the boat “SRV Grandpas Farm”. SRV stands for “Sailing Research Vessel”. We will be participating in and with, several citizen science projects and data collection efforts. We will be doing our own water tests while underway. Testing for PH. TDS. Salinity, Hardness and Temperature. Our starting list of organizations we are working with is: Reef.org and the ASC Micro Plastic Study. We hope to also collect data for shark, whale, dolphin and turtle research, among others.
Why a sailboat? Sailing is the most eco-friendly means of travel. Powered by the wind with reserve diesel power. Our intent, is to have the smallest carbon footprint possible, while conducting a great amount of research and data collection.
Who are we? Just a grandfather and his dog, who is deeply concerned about our planet and especially about the creatures in the world’s oceans. I am a UA-camr, Scuba diver, sailor, storyteller and adventurer. We anticipate having visiting scientist on board from time to time.

Interesting. I know very little about diving. What's your underwater time as compared to a regular tank or two?
You still need to follow dive tables to control Nitrogen absorption. So not much gain unless you wish to do a real long safety stop, and wait a long time to dive again. Your body will need time to off gas the Nitrogen load.
If I get certified on that unit can I use any rebreather?
As I understand it yes. The certification is for any model rebreather!
Thanks I have always want to try CCR, but always thought it was for TEC divers.
It is a different world. You lose the ability to compensate your buoyancy with breath holding. But as a underwater videographer. It allows me to get much closer to my targets, due to the loss of bubbles.
@@Grandpacarlreacts No. Every rebreather is different and requires a cross over course... Probably not as. Long as your initial ccr training.. I was certified on an Sf2 from. Scubaforce, and my training was 7, 8 hour days.
