Even after you reset and you don’t see any digits, it could be because the contacts on the back of the battery aren’t making a good enough connection. The old battery has probably been in there for several years and those contacts are flattened down. The remedy is to take the battery out and use a tweezer to pry them up just a little bit so they make a better connection. It may take a couple of tries. I also recommend putting a little silicone grease on the rubber gasket to try to maintain the water resistant rating for this watch. It doesn’t guarantee that, but it will help.
I had the same issue. I bent the contacts like you said and it wasn't quite working still. I applied a lot of random brute finger pressure to various parts of the watch face and then it started working. May have pressed a button or two also.
this did it for me. removing the battery and bending the contacts on the bottom to look further up so they press harder against the new battery. In combination with the short-circuit that can be seen in the video I feel like a hacker now, lel. also It was necessary to bend the contact plates from the 3 buttons on the sides to make the buttons work again. probably because of me fumbling around too much. My display had some minutes tho show numbers but not fully. It came back fully readable after some 1-2 minutes, though.
Thank u after Taking it to the watch repair shop they told me it was done for after watching the video I change the original battery for the 1st time after 10 years and Wala back to life
For anyone wondering with a Casio W-59 (very similar watch) on how to reset the CMOS (AC), I could only got it to by connecting the AC terminal directly with the + side of the battery
i managed to do the AC thing, and i got results, the watch shows all the right things, but some of the segments just dont show at all. worried that the watch might just be broken, i just got the watch today, and the display was missing segments before i had even opened it. do you have any tips, or is this a lost cause?
@@johne6081 Ensure one tweezer end pokes into the AC (all clear) hole, and other tweezer end should simultaneously touch the silver metal battery clip you just pressed on. That should reset it back to 1200 on Sunday 1. GL!

@@raouloctav Thank you for the reply. I did that a few times. I fiddled with it for more than an hour with no success. It might just be a problem with the quartz oscillator or a bad solder joint somewhere. It's a used watch I received without the battery so I have no idea if the problem existed before.

Yes
It is a CR2016 Battery
I removed the sticky piece of white paper, does it matters?
I also have this question.
Thanks. Very helpful. 😀
Not sure that gasket sunk properly...
Buen trabajo,me ha salvado,muchas gracias!

That is precisely my problem, as well. I replaced the battery, and now I can't get all segments to light.

Thanks a bunch. Saved mea watch!
What is the size of the screw used in that watch?
It's a really small Philips, but i do not know the size. What i can tell you, it's standardized on lower ends Casio
It's the same which is normally used in eye glasses. I just got one from my local eye glasses shop and it was the perfect fit. Hope it helps.
Saved my butt, I thought all was lost.
2:23 after AC no display,why?
What are the prongs called to reset the AC. I’m trying to find some but not sure what to search.
Metal tweezer(s)
Love the music
Thank you, it works
the VERY IMPORTANT part is not in video!!!!
I tried this but my LCD still doesnt work
What happens if i use a cr2032 battery?
I believe it's too thick
Thank you so much

My watch remained dead... :(
The old battery was certainly discharged: 0.3V So I don't know what happened.
Well, after some adjustments it came back to life.
Thanks..after i replace battery..alarm sound no longer work
Hi ..remove the back cover and arrange it correctly, make sure the alarm pins are aligned with back cover speakers.
@@ranjankc121, you are right, the piezoelectric speaker needs to have contact to work properly, this if it has not gone kaput.
