This series, The Woburn House, is the best season they ran. It actually showed homeowners how to take on average upgrades and improvements without doing a complete tare-out and installation of thousands of dollars of high-tech equipment. I remember watching this series as they were aired on PBS. Bob actually said the off-set in the hall was big enough for a phone. Anyone remember when we had a phone table in the hall for a wired rotary dial phone? I do.
This season of this old house is way more informative and helpful then any in the last 10-15 years. So many helpful tips, that if u haven’t done it yourself, you probably don’t even catch the comment. (A 3 valve shower illegal, what kind of state do u live in, I’m sure they still sell them at Lowe’s in 2023).
When a guy under 30 (Richard the plumber) takes his style advise from the Cheers character Cliff Clavin, he manages to look older in 1982 than he does in 2020. Lol
1982! WoW! Pollution out of the window, saving electric out of the window, fighting the Russians! the German wall didn't even come down falling!! This is a long time ago! May be I am getting older! WoW! brings back great memories.
OMG, the differences from when i used to watch this as a kid is very dramatic to today. Bob was probably the worst host, and when they started, VERY budget conscious, but always loved this show!!!
This guy stresses me out a bit haha, he's too intense and seams dirt cheap with his money. I wouldn't work for him, that's for sure. As much as I do like him in other ways, no thank you.
It is nice to see them saving the old bathroom and finding period appropriate fixtures instead of tearing it out.

18:25 And apparently you could be scalded or "frozen" from the water. Lol

Thanks for uploading this
You’re welcome
It's refreshing to watch a remodel show where they don't tear everything out and put new everything I
25:01 nstead of reusing and fixing
...never trust an HVAC man wearing a suit! Lol
We gonna upgrade my Grandma's house, my mom's house & my Great-Grandmother's house with Bob Vila's help.
RICHARD WITH ALL THAT HAIR 😯
Such a modest start, eh Bob?
So Richard, what else can I do to screw you out of a huge plumbing bill?
Cool
I'm not spending another dollar unless I have to
1982 Joe Biden enters
"Just wait and see what I have for you in 40 years."
Wow look at Richards unibrow
Norm I'm gonna interrupt you
This is a house? More like a garage.
All that space and a tiny ass closet and bathroom lmao
Yeah pretty sure it was smaller than the original bathroom
at least Bob can drive a nail , unlike the other hosts of this show
Wouldn’t you just build those bathroom walls on the floor then stand them up?
Cover the multitudes of Sin…when they were in the bathroom.
Get rid of the toilet 👍

Lolll illegal my ass
Illegal....illegal.....illegal........money money money!
Nothing like a bit of Big Brother fear factor to discourage you from doing any plumbing, bend
over please...

He wouldn’t hire your dumb ass anyway
@@HipsterDoofus100 no need to feel insecure
His money concerns are invaluable, he knows the viewers are DIY people. Do you like throwing money around for no reason?
Also the questions he asked were preplanned. This is TV and the crew needs to be paid too
