I like curl maker for what it is. I don’t expect wetline results, it’s a softer hold. I usually use it for wash and go’s during the summer when I need something quick. It’s like flaxseed gel, super slippery. Definitely try a wash and go!
It looks so good. I love the curl maker, it’s my favorite gel for my wash and go, it has never made flakes in my hair. Hope it won’t with yours

That gel is in my top 5. If you pair it with the Camille Rose Avocado and Castor oil leave-in you'll have zero crunch 👍🏾
I think what may cause flaking is other products not working well with it. It might help to use only the products they recommend to use with the product.
You need to use the leave in or the curl love first then pair it on top

That gel is bomb. Maybe it was the product combination you used back then? The braidout looks beautiful though.

@@elizabethzewde2254 for this braidout she used to aloe whipped butter gel. I know when people do wash n go’s with it they use either the almond jai twisting butter or the moisture milk
I hated this gel. I had the flaking as well. The almond jai twisting butter and aloe whipped butter are holy grails. Your hair looks good!! Please do a wash n go.

I love this exact combo for my wash n go! I do get crunch but I need crunch because I have low density fine strands and my wash n go lasts so long using this combo! 💕
Yes try a wash n go using this same combo you won’t be disappointed!
I love Curl Maker with other products.. Such as Shea moisture Raw Shea Butter conditioner which can be used as a leave in it pairs very well with that product for me anyways.. I think porosity affects how products feel and absorb into the hair some people get flakes and an extra hard cast and then some people get hold shine and their hair feels soft using curl maker.. I have Medium porosity 4a and my hair holds up with this gel when I occasionally define my coils.

This braid out really made me want to try this product. I would love to see you do a wash and go using the curl maker.
1.) I'm voting for the wash n go 2. when took your hair down I started to holy dance. It's the definition every time for me.
I like the curl maker paired with a butter gel or any gel with a stronger hold. Same with the uncle Funky’s daughter when you pair it with a butter gel or any gel with a stronger hold. Layering both of the products with a stronger gel removes that gummy texture that I got after they were completely dry.
When u pair the 2 gels do u use any other moisturizer product aswell? Like a leave in or cream?
@@cristhalfecunda9246 I don’t use anything else, because the curl maker is moisturizing to me. I apply curl maker first, then heavier gel on top.

I tried it a year or more ago as well and got a lot of flakes also. I actually searched to see if anyone else had the same issue and your video popped up. I am interested in seeing you do a wash and go with this now. Beautiful as always.

i cant believe you didnt like the curl maker! that has been my holy grail since my hair was 1inch long and even now. everytime i hear of someone not liking the curl make its because they used it on dry hair. it says in the direction i believe to use on wet hair. if u try a wash and go try on damp or wet hair and trust me, u dont need the whipped gel. just use a cream or creaming leave in under it and and the curl maler is all u beed

This and the mane choice crystal orchid gel (new formula) are the only gels I use for my wngs. Love this ❤
There's definitely a learning curve when it comes to the constitency. I apply more leave in and less and gel!

i use the curl maker alone which gives me fabmazing curls. but thecombo products will add build up and flakes.
I love the curl maker but it flakes so bad and I dont know how to fix it. I know some gels don't pair well with some conditioners but I used it on naked hair and still flaked :

Yeoooooo I just through the rest of mine out. Was trying to get my money’s worth, but I can’t stand how this reactivates in water/humidity and is so gummy. Looking forward to your thoughts!
What did it do when water or humidity hit it ?
@@kumikco90 Hey! I noticed that if I got in the shower without a plastic cap or if I were outside after it rained, the curl maker would feel gummy on my hair. For me, this is one of those products that you can’t be heavy handed with because water takes it back to life in a bad way lol. I think it could be better for me in the winter, but I don’t plan on repurchasing to find out. I have naturally high porosity hair, so that could have impacted it, but I am also 3C/4A high density so I can’t go light or else I’ll lack definition. It was a no for me, Sis...

@@veronicaholguin9599 It's been so long since I have used it but I don't think I had issues with slip. They are both slippery products so I don't think there were any issues.

Yes, you can. It’s a light hold gel though. So it may not last as long or create as much definition as other ones
I've never used it, but if u do the wash n go and it's not too bad, then I might just try it.

How do you find that aloe cream compares to the almond jai?
Yes. I still dislike it. 1 of few products I rinsed out and returned the same day of purchase. Beautiful outcome here though 👌
