My hairdresser told me to take 1/3 out and mix it with water. On its own the product makes your hair very stiff. But thinned out with 1/3 water gave me perfect soft curls
I got completely different results from this! For me this is the best thing for my curls, I get really great washdays with super light and fluffy spirals (after scrunching out the crunch) with waaay less frizz and no buildup, but it has no hold overnight so I always have to refresh in the morning. I think I am going to have to try pairing it with another gel on top. I have loose curls by the way, and my hair is not colored and relatively healthy. I honestly really love this gel but I wish it would survive overnight.
First 6 minutes and 45 seconds is just her saying it didn't work, would recommend fast-forwarding if you're looking for an answer more than experience. Thank you for the advice of using cream first! Can't wait to try it.
I always use a leave-in before applying gels and my hair is 4A/B, low porosity, fine hair and it made my hair very soft and shiny for 3 days. My hair wasn’t hard or crunchy. I haven’t even refreshed my hair.
I'm less than a minute in and I'm just popping down here to say that I SOOO appreciate you doing a bit of history with the product. First impressions are fun to watch too but I love that you're giving us the backstory on this product and you because I literally came here to learn more about it. Picked it up on a trip to the states and I still haven't figured out how to work with it...I'm so excited for your video because I want to love this curl maker...it was expensive!!
@4:10, I super appreciated that you included the clip of your third try. This is EXACTLY what it's doing to my hair...fluffy (which I don't mind as my hair is fine and thin) and no definition at all, just super soft waves that aren't formed well. With other products I get as tight as 3b but with the Curl maker i never even get a spiral
So you are being kind , basically the other products worked and carried the Camille Rose . The bright side is you are lucky enough to have so many products that DO actually work for you.
Your clips not liking it was so funny! You looked like you were so fed up and done. Your hair is gorgeous, I wish I had curls man!!! CONGRATS on 5k mama! So proud of you!!!
I just started using the Curl Maker and I love it! I have 3a/3b hair and I paired it with the CRN Almond Jai butter. There was a cast but after I scrunched it out my hair was really soft and shiny! And omigosh I love the scent! Sorry it didn't work for you my Boricua sis 😕
I tried the Camille rose curls maker last night and yes it made my hair hard i wanted to defuse it but was so busy didn't had a chance too. When i was already done doing what i supposed to do i fell asleep and woke up with some nice bouncing curls they weren't stiff. I guess there is a way how to do it. But i will continue use it hopefully i can learn to make my curls bouncing with your technique I just don't have no patience to do twist on my hair lol but thank you for sharing
Kelly, you are the only one lol jk... I think you're right about the tighter curls working better with it; my curls are super tight and this is the main product I've used for a few years now and I like it. It does get that tight cast on my hair that you were talking about, but again the hair texture may be what makes a difference. Great video and beautiful hair!😊
I always use Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie as a base for my gels. I guess in that case, I shouldn't use this gel? Thanks for the review!
this product isn't working for me either my curls are soo loose and stringy at the bottom, ive mixed with devacurl and I got bad results, im going to try with Camille rose milk and see how it looks but yes I have 3a hair I think it works better for tighter curls
I just watched your video, so I'm a bit behind in adding this comment. I love this product, but only as a curl enhancer under a gel. I use it as part of the LCEG method. I have 2C hair, very thick and coarse, so I use a lot of Curl Maker under Curl Keeper Gel. It gives me really good definition. I don't think it would ever give me strong enough hold to use by itself though.
I have a somewhat similar hair type and it worked great for me it is one of my favorite products, The product might not have worked bc u could be protein sensitive. Side note: ur hair is beautiful
Old comment, but in case someone wonders about this product in the future: protein sensitivity doesn't exist, it's a myth. Her hair is a damaged (bleached) high porosity, so it actually benefits from protein even more than anyone else. Lastly, the Curl Maker actually doesn't contain proteins, so nope.
Do you put the styling creams first, or the leave in Deva curl first? I'm a curly girl in need of help. My hair can be just like yours, but I'm still in search for curlyhelp
I absolutely LOVE your curls, mine are almost identical and I am also Puerto Rican. Girlll the struggle is REAL and I have yet to find a routine or products I’m in love with 😩 I think I will be trying the devacurl products next. I definitely had to subscribe 😊👌🏼 Btw what was the FB group you mentioned I could not find it when I searched ... TIA
It does work great with the Camille Rose Curl Love lotion, but it is a lot of money to spend when you have to spend at least another $15 for a second product. And, I still have some frizz with it. I’m still searching for a routine that will eliminate fly aways and frizz.
I haven't tried this gel yet but I did buy Uncle Funky's Daughter Curl Stimulator, which is supposedly the same thing. Uncle Funky's did the same thing to my fine/thin hair as the CR gel did to your hair! Also, after day 1 my hair felt chalky and lackluster like my hair had been in chlorine. I wonder what's in these products that cause those results especially since other people rave about both of them. I'll definitely be skipping the CR gel :) p.s. However, the Camille Rose Coconut Water Deep Penetrating treatment is a holy grail conditioner for me!!
Have you reviewed Moo Top? Exactly what you’re describing in his video happened to me with Mop Top. Everyone loves it and it was horrible on my hair. I’m wondering if it will work with another product.
I had a good experience if I do finger coiling throughout my hair like Annie but not my regular styling regimen ... I might try it this way! I’m curious haha
I have 3a/3B loose curls with tight ringlets at the end. I mix the gel with the CRN curl milk and run it through my hair air dry and it contains the frizz. I think this product line didn't work so well for you cause your hair is not that curly it's more a 2a wavy. Cause when you brush it goes straight right away. my hair when I brush it wet or dry it bounces back to it's curl pattern. I've noticed this with some youtubers with thin curls, some of these products in the ethnic section may be just too rich for fine hair to where you would only need the size of a dime cause the products are rich and will weigh down your hair. With the SM CUrl enhancing smoothie i only use a tablespoon cause it will weigh down my hair fast.
Most type 2 waves and even 3a curls go almost straight when wet. the back of my hair is the healthiest of mine and it brushes straight when wet, but usually gets a little curl at the ends when i'm moisturizing it. not all curls are bouncy :)
her hair is clearly 3a/3b, are you blind? Curl pattern is not dictated by hair when it's wet, bushed, or otherwise; that's a fine hair thing. Fine hair strands lack the structure to hold their own curl while wet or brushed out. You're being an elitist and it's not cute.
Your voice sounds just like Jhene Aiko. Face like Beyoncé and hair like 90's Mariah. Very beautiful
Shannon Lim why is this so accurate

Is it just me or does she look like Shakira
it's because of her hair, curly girls remind me of Shakira every time
I see Beyonce.
Your clips not liking it was so funny! You looked like you were so fed up and done. Your hair is gorgeous, I wish I had curls man!!! CONGRATS on 5k mama! So proud of you!!!
Lol I was!! Thank you! ❤️
Loved this video. The pictures of the process helped so much to understand your description. Thank you!
i'm glad! thank you for watching! :)

How long did it last?
Wow what a difference!! Looks amazing even though its day 2. 😊

LOL Angelaaaa! i'm glad to hear that it works for you. At least I know my theory is right lol thanks for watching :)
I always use Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie as a base for my gels. I guess in that case, I shouldn't use this gel? Thanks for the review!
Go with what works for you. Just because someone at higher rank or status says it don't work for them don't mean you shouldn't use it.
I think your hair actually looks beautiful in this video

4:06 is just what my hair looks like on a good day💀
Same here💀
Oh my god, you curls are stunning. You remind me of Beyonce ❤️
Have you tired the mielle honey and ginger gel? I would love to hear your thoughts. I've been eyeing the mielle brand
I bought it recently and will be reviewing soon! :)
Kelly!! You came up on my feed so proud of you! 💕Edrige
Aww so cool! thank you Edridge!! ❤️
I keep hearing about this I just have so much stuff to use up already maybe I will try it when my hairs back to my shoulders

@@ocandro it contains coconut oil which is a protein
@@ncnc998 oil by definition doesn't contain ANY protein.
Do you think it would do anything for 2c hair
Do you put the styling creams first, or the leave in Deva curl first? I'm a curly girl in need of help. My hair can be just like yours, but I'm still in search for curlyhelp
I put the B'leave In first, then the cream, then the gel
Joy Before Her thank you so much!!

Am I the only one that thinks that her hair in this picture looks fabulous?? Ahahah
Did u use the leave in? Because it helps with the crunchy texture

if my hair straight is it possible to be curl like u if i using this product?
no
no
Can this make people with not curly hair, curly
I tried it but it didn’t work for me. I gave it to my daughter who has a tighter curl pattern.
My hair did the same thing! I used with mousse it was horrible
You look like Zoe Saldana!! So gorgeous.
The struggle is real!
Just wondering what's your Race/ethnicity?
I'm Puerto Rican :)
What is your curl pattern?
(3b,3c?)
3a- but some pieces in the back could be 2c, and on the top 3b sometimes
My hair did this with the gel in the lavender collection 🥺😣
if beyonce and shakira had a baby
2 THUMB'S UP 👍👍 GOOD JOB 🥰
I think this product is more for 4a-4c coils rather then a 3c curl that dosent need as much help with definition
You are amazing❤️
you're so sweet thank you! ❤️
So beautiful 😍😍
Oh my gosh! That product sucks on my hair! 22 gone!
If I have to use so many products together it isn't worth it, I have 3c curls I'm a one product and done kind of girl.
3:32
Hey is that u?
pairt this product with its own product..the shampoo, conditioner ect....
t
Wow, you look like Tatiana Maslany.
I wouldn't like a product luke that that is so picky.
yea it was really picky :/
You look like shaquira
I just tried this and the frizz on top of my curls is unbelievable. I look like a bird’s nest. Sorry but I would never ever buy this again
Just never buy that stuff again stick with mielle
Why do u look like beyonce🤦🏻♀️😂 the face chica

She is a 3b 2 a goes straight easily
Fuck I wish I would’ve watched a video about this before I spent 50$ on this shit 😭fml
You look like Shakira.
Beautiful Latin woman😘
Thank you :)
