It truly baffles me how many comments here are people making fun of this beautiful practice. Just because you have the spiritual range of a teaspoon and no connection to this powerful culture and land, doesn't mean you get to hide behind your keyboard and poke fun at a culture you know absolutely nothing about. Shame on you. Much aloha to this beautiful halau for staying connected to their culture and ancestors.
Anna Rose Deleon Guerrero if only they knew how proud being part of Hawaii makes u feel. It’s like being proud to be an American or from your country. But extremists can’t negotiate
Kuchi Kopi can y'all not do this on my comment? i simply wanted a positive connection to this video and y'all obviously don't enjoy this video so why bother? and why do you hate a religion lmao
@Kuchi Kopi nothing about this speaks "religious nuts" they're not picketing on the side of the road, condemning non-believers. They're not trying to inject their beliefs into the classroom. They're not forcing their beliefs onto anyone else.
Waimea is such a beautiful place. I visited this past summer. Hawaiian culture is so fascinating and beautiful! It gets covered by touristy gimmicks too often.
Makayla I totally agree, most people that come to Hawaii don't realize that what they are learning are tourist traps. Many tourists that come here often don't even learn actual Hawaiian culture.
When you go to school in hawaii becuase I lived there you learn the hawaiian culture but you mostly learn about american history more than hawaiian history
Jason Cheers Actually some schools like public schools actually teaches the Keikis the history of Hawaiʻi too. I went to a public school in Oʻahu and learned a lot of things about King Kamehameha, King Kalākaua, Queen Liliʻuokalani, the illegal overthrown, Captain James Cook, discovery of Hawaiʻi, hawaiian language and more when I was about to hit freshman. I’m a junior right now and I’m still learning more and more of all the monarchs, the language, the culture that our ancestors did and the history. Most public schools that are in the white or rich community never learned or heard anything about Hawaiʻis history. So it all depends where the public school is at. Where my public school is at get choke locals🤷🏻♀️
@@puraheatmy friend went there for her honeymoon and said that it was so Americanized that it was hard to find the real culture there and that is what she did not like
I'm afraid that in a hundred years so many such beautiful traditions, cultures and languages will be lost. This is who we all were, and this is so valuable. So rich.
It's already happened to many Americans. My family doesn't have any special traditions, and it makes me feel lost and lonely. I have no idea what my cultural heritage is and it makes me feel disconnected from everyone. These people are lucky to be part of such an amazing thing.
I am soooo proud that this Halau is representing my culture. Our culture is so powerful and meaningful. I love it. P.s. knowing that I live in Hawaii is such a blessing❤️❤️
This is a truly beautiful culture. They keep their families’s traditions living and thriving. With their beautiful clothing, strong beliefs, and amazing dances, they keep their culture and family traditions alive. I live how they dance in nature to their only important audience... their ancestors, in the form of plants, hills, rain, and fog. Beautiful culture, I’d be so glad to learn more about it.
i live here and its actually quite expensive, but its cheaper than san Francisco and new york. Also hawaii is the only state where everyone is a minority so a culture pot of the pacific and asia.
Gerald Soria Wow lucky, I live in Chicago so things are already very expensive. I hope one day I can visit Hawaii.

Ancestors are everywhere around us. Plants, hills, wind, rain and so on. You dont even have to be religious or spiritual to know this is true. Our passed loved ones are in the nature all around us. Thats why its so sad to see people mistreat it so much.
So beautiful, genuin ancient knowledge! Thanks from my heart for sharing with us! Please dance and sing for all of us who for ages have forgotten the sacred connections!
The indigenous people of this planet have so much to teach about living as spiritual BEings of this planet in connection and command of the elements. This short clip has me in awe and appreciation of great knowledge that is being preserved and practice. Give thanks 🙏🏾
What a blessing it is to have full knowledge of your heritage. I wish we could say the same on the mainlands. Keep your traditions alive! Love to my Hawaiian brothers & sisters ❣️
Thanks for leaving such a nice comment. I’ve had a rough time lately (I’ve been very sick) and it was heartwarming to see such a thoughtful comment. Im from hawaii, and ive never even seen this kind if hula before. Im learning something new about my own culture, man. Its a very beautiful and powerful hula though.
Pono! Maika'i no! In the water and in the mountains we dance and chant to our ancestors on Maui, Moloka'i, Lan'i, Hawai'i and Oahu. Teaching the children our history and future to come!
I love how they explain what my culture is, what Hawaiian dancing really is. ❤️ this is what hula represents and this is what our culture is made of. What the base of Hawaii is, it’s not touristy dumb shit, it’s a land and it’s a culture.
their dances translate heavy emotions and pure passion, enough to make anyone cry. it’s incredible, to just be able to get lost in a dance, and feel what could only be nature powering you
My native ancestors dances too . I hold my traditions doing pow wows. Rain and Wind . I hold my eagle feather the chief elders gave me. I bless the four directions. And the wind calls and blows rain is coming soon
I freaking cried watching this. It’s so beautiful. I’m from Oahu, I am not Hawaiian though. Hawaiian culture is such a beautiful thing.

I came here to get a spiritual experience in regards to calling rain, because I am getting ready to call the rain to New Mexico and the Southwest. We are in the middle of a drought and we need the moisture. Lake Mead and Lake Powell are drying up at alarming rates. We were not able to plant our chile crops this year, because of the drought. This is effecting people livlihoods and will eventually effect people grocery prices too. I hope someone out there will help me in calling the rain. Thank you!
These are the gifts for anyone to receive if you believe and put in the work as they have. Most people do not understand things like this because they are out of touch with nature, spirit, and the Creator. Come out of the matrix, and you will start to understand these things. I didnt even know there was this version of hula. I've seen the ones telling stories of Pele and the ones mimicking the gentle waves of the ocean. The whipping motion is so captivating 😮. So there's like volcano hula, ocean hula and mountain forest hula.
