maybe he should have gotten off the horse and fixed its tack, rather than pressing an alarm. A rider is responsible for his horse. To let it suffer while he presses an alarm is hardly good horsemanship.

I don’t know how the guards (and the horses) are able to put up with all the idiots there. The poor horse is obviously distressed and his equipment needs adjusting. As a lifelong horse owner this was hard to watch. It should not take that long to get help.

@@calgal5752 they should keep the crowds farther back. It's ridiculous to let them stand so close to the horse, waving their arms, making gestures, throwing their arms and hands up in front of the horses face. It's cruel to the animal, and just plain stupid.

In every video I have watched of the King's Guard, the police are standing around yapping to each other, even when Guards and their horses are being bothered by the public. In one video the nutjob woman left her bag next to the Guard and it was minutes before any police officers spotted it. Seriously unimpressed with the police here.

The constant bit chewing is either a sign of nerves and stress or the bit is a problem.
With bits, one size does not fit all. If your horse constantly chews or fusses with the bit, she might be telling you it's bothering her mouth. When choosing a bit, you must take into consideration the tongue thickness, the height of the palate, the mouth's width and the general shape of your horse's head. If your mare chews excessively on one type of bit, try a similar bit of another material or size to see if it makes a difference. BUT do try to resolve the problem before the horses mouth is permanently damaged.

This isn't just an issue with the martingale becoming loose or chewing at the bit. The horse's bit itself is the issue. I've had horses. Chewing the bit is one thing, this is trouble with the way the bit has been placed/ fitted. Chewing is a sign that either the horse hasn't been properly trained to the bit when first introduced to one or a sign of boredom or stress. This should've been checked more thoroughly. Wrong, they are part of the Ministry of Defence police, their key role is to protect the building which you can see behind the guard which is a military establishment. Their main responsibility is not to monitor the guard and/or horse unless the guard calls them over, that's what the alarm is for, to call for staff assistance from within the building.
