I feel like I never see Intermediate guides like this that are actually succinct and well edited. Thank you for putting this together, this is perfect for my level of play. Gonna hit training mode tomorrow and practice all this!
I fought my way to orange ranks with barely any fighting game experience (a bit of mashing on T7 against my brother and maybe 30 hours of SF6). My gameplan mostly has been jabs and d1,2 to just poke my opponents to death and throwing out power crushes if they are jab happy too. Then adding in df2 into a 65 damage combo once they start fearing my d1. So these videos have been very helpful for slowly learning more tools and when they are useful. I still struggle a bit with really understanding how to build up a combo and add factors like the wall into it (right now getting an opponent to the wall feels more like a detriment since I am not equipped enough to deal with it), but I am sure it will come with time once I don't have to think about my fundamentals too much. So yeah, thanks a lot for the helpful videos so far, they have been quite good
Lili's mid range kick is ideal for me because 80% of my opponents retreat across the stage when their life points are low. This gives them time to think. Using a mid closes the gap.
With long legs comes long responsibility. Seriously though, great guide this is what I needed. I haven't been using the df3 and had no idea about it's counter hit property, or how so many of her moves had such amazing counter hit properties. This is perfect ty!
Hey man, this guide is great! You've got a great way of educating, with how your video is broken down. To the point of: the character is strong here, this is what they want to do naturally... get it!
I've been convinced to try out T8 by one of my friends and have decided on Lili as my first character. These guides are fantastic, great for explaining how each move is used. So glad I found these guides before I go get my ass kicked tonight
Im a lili main on my channel have been since tekken 8. I just got her to fujin rank and discovered a wicked new set up that keeps catching people out :)
Best way to practice counter hits: In practice mode, put player's counterhit property on shuffle and opponent's block on random. This way you can learn to hit confirm your ch moves. If it hits, but isn't a ch launch, throw another one. If it's blocked, sidestep or backstep. If it's a succesful ch, do the combo you practiced for it.
Dude thank you! Your explanations are really great. I've been a Lili player since Tekken 5 DR. While I'd say that I play Lili decently, I'd always want to review her basics once in a while. Yours is a really great explanation. Thanks!
@piratekingfla a question, how many hours I have to train myself on the first guide before go with this video? I am really new to fighting game, and sorry for my English, I’m not English
good stuff! I wondered about df3+4 since i use it A LOT, like borderline spamming since it's really my single favorite movelmao. but i often get clipped or interrupted when i wanna continue to pressure... and she actually blocks from bt by holding forward??? FORWARD to block... it makes sense if you think about it, but i never really thought about holding FORWARD to block lmao
you can't block in BT, what's happening is that when you push forward you exit back turn. If you do it right as you recover your character is still in the neutral state so you auto guard the duck jab
At 10:32, how the heck do you get the crouching jab!? I can literally never hit that move. Like the recovery frames from bt 1+2 either make nothing come out, or i get the low chop from the down 1, 2 string, or i miss the the combo because the opponent is laying on the ground. The timing window must be extremely tight?
Okay so, FCDF1 is opreessive as alls hit, but i rarely find myself in situatiosn where i am full crouching, I suppos thats not just a move youre doing on its own, which moves tend to lead into the option for you?
If this is intermediate, whats advanced gonna be like? holy shit i love tekken. sidenote: F3 has the same range as D3 has, D3 gets you into their face, if you hit that lowpoke you can do some nice shenanigans using other moves from this guide ^.^
Do you think dew cancel is a core aspect of Lili in this game? I ask that because on T7 i had pretty decent Lili with good wall travel combos without having to learn dew cancel, but it seems that for T8 doing cancels is pretty much the way to go if i want wall travel, even worse if it's a combo with tornado early. I can do some good damaging combos but with no walls at all, if i hit the wall at the end of the combo i can't do a wall finisher. From all the combos i keep seeing on youtube, this wouldn't happen if my combo route was usign b1 cancel, which allow me ws1,2 dew3 finisher at wall. Genuine question.
@@curlydolltv dew glide for sure is, but what about b1 loop combos? In T7 you could play without it just fine, on T8 it seems we need that (or any dew cancel) to have a effective wallcarry.
Honestly in my opinion dew glide cancels like the b1 loops isn't NEEDED. Does it help? It does, but it's not a requirement at all. It's definitely not a staple like EWGF with Mishimas. Others may disagree with me on that and that's fine. Lili has very solid and consistent combos without the need of using dew glide cancels. It's better to be consistent than trying to do loops and dropping combos all the time.
@axellyann5085 Her wall travel literally got buffed cause of backturned 3,4, perosnally i barely use dew glide cancels and get to wall very consistently anyways (i always use b1,4 or f2,3 as a combo ender unless im sure it won't connect to wall then obviously dew 1,4 is better)
@@PirateKingFla I can't find any information on how to do this. I am also trying to replicate this skin. If you could please add more information to where to unlock this, that would be awesome :)
@@markjosephlim1124 Just double checked. Go to customization, upper body, tank top (should be the 4th one at the top). Also, it's not a sleeveless tank top, I just made the sleeves skin colored.

Very much appreciate a video that isn't just an hour long run down of every jab string
Man this guide is insane. Every other guide just goes over the movelist. Thank you for actually explaining the functions of each move!!

What an awesome guide. I was wondering if u could make videos on countering cheesy characters like bears and Yoshimitsu?
I can look into that for sure!
actually really helpful bro thank you
OMG NAMI! Thanks for the vids! I am learning tekken and a lili main at the moment
Lili's df4 is soo good too
Wow that was a nice guide. Thanks
Got to red rank off this video can’t wait for the advanced guide.
Yayy! im new to tekken and maining lili. thank you!
Can you make a guide about doing dewglide canceling and the back turn canceling? How to do it and practice it ?
Great video ty
0:57 “it has good range” HAHAAH
This help me a lot thanks buddy
Lili's back 3+4 if you hit it just rip it again does more damage 45 damage vs the 40 (not in raged) / counter hit great video though.
This was very informative and well edited
Will you please do a Reina video too? 🎉 You explain things so well and I would love to learn how to play her
Reina's on my list for a future project!

we loe the nami cosplay tho 🧡🧡
Hey for the down forward 3+4 on block my friend usually throws out the Lili mid 1+2 would I still be able to beat it by finishing the 3+4?
DF3 and F4, that's all you need.
Does Lili's df1 have any tracking? And would you recommend her 1+2 as a keep away tool despite no pushback?
What is your recommendation for an opening move? I often get beaten to the punch

Hope that helped. Cheers~
